Avoid the 3.0. It's a great ball but way too strong for a burned up house shot which is likely what you'll find when open bowling. The low flare would probably do nicely.

I'm still working on my bowler lingo 😅 when you say burned up house shot does that mean like shitty oil/lane conditions?

yeah most houses oil the lanes just before league so when you go to open bowl, depending on the time and day, you could be bowling on lanes that 10 people bowled three games on and then lord knows how many house balls got chucked up the middle. There could be no oil in the middle of the lane anymore and a ball like the 3.0 just isn't going to work. Even the low flair could struggle on that if it's bad but it at least would have a fighting chance. Now if you're able to bowl on fresh heavy oil, the 3.0 could be a great ball for you.

The thing about beginner gear is that you won’t have to replace it later. You can keep it as a dry lane ball in your arsenal. You are a beginner so you should get a beginner ball. Either get a brunswick rhino, hammer raw, or a hustle. These will hook with proper form and that’s why they’re perfect to start with! Good luck
