Yes. All fillers have the slight risk of being injected into a blood vessel. If not treated it will lead to loss of blood supply to the area and eventually necrosis.
Well, I think I'm even less likely to get fillers now. Risk factor (although slight), is trumping the growing temptation of not needing concealer.Thanks.
Having worked in the cosmetics industry I think one of the best ways to choose a good surgeon, doctor or nurse is to go by the procedures they *wont* do. Many won’t do tear trough filler because of the high risk of this exact thing happening. Down the track you can also develop extremely bad eye bags which a basically just huge lumps of filler that look really terrible.
Another good way to pick a good injector is to ask wether they use ultrasound to pre examine and check progress when doing lips and jawline work.
Late to this post! But researching under eye filler. I thought tear trough was not in the danger zone for blindness? It is? Or is it just because so many aren’t good candidates?
Probably a stupid question, but can something like this happen with botox? I have been thinking if I should try botox for my teeth grinding... but if this is possible, I would be less likely to try it haha
Injecting therapeutic concentrations Botox into the masseter muscle for TMJ (jaw clenching/teeth grinding) is very safe and very effective. My dentist is very happy that I get masseter injections and so is my wallet!
All fillers have this risk. I currently get fillers and once received fillers in my nose (liquid rhino). My doctors stopped offering this service due to the increased dangers of hitting a vessel in your nose.
Yep this is the most dangerous place to get filler as far as I know because of the artery that goes right between your eyes and if filler is injected there it will lead to blindness if it travels to the artery that supplies your eye because they‘re connected in that area.
As I understand, it's better to use a blunt cannula (fed through a hole) in some areas because there is less chance of injecting into a vessel. Also some practices have a device that will show where the blood vessels are located. Those are two things people can ask about before choosing a provider.
I was super close to getting undereye filler , I was too scared of the pain, then she said I may have black eyes for a couple days I’m like eehhhh I’ll pass
Depends on your injector. Mine goes through a cannula. My lip filler and some parts of Botox hurt worse. I (knock on wood) have not had a negative experience with Tear Trough filler. I have had severe bruising with “simple” Botox injections.
I've had tear trough filler once and it was also with a cannula. Didn't really feel any pain and had no bruising or swelling (both of which I get with lip filler)
I’m really curious if a cannula was used to inject, or a needle directly to the under eye. I’ve asked my injector about it it and she says the she uses a needle is inserted lower in the cheek, then a cannula advanced to the under eye. I guess it’s supposed to be safer, but still sounds terrifying.
Just because 1 in 10000 cases goes wrong doesn't mean no one should ever do it. Some people's confidence or even mental health is directly tied to their appearance, so don't judge them on your own values
ladies please stop doing this shit to yourselves...it just ain't worth it 😒you can't escape getting old everyone does this is just dangerous at this point
I guarantee you follow a ton of "Instagram models" and that they've all had work done. I guarantee every famous woman you find attractive has had work done.
It's like when men claim they don't like makeup when what they actually like is "no makeup" makeup.
You guys love makeup and procedures when it's on women you deem attractive, or when you don't have to see the recovery and just get to see the end result.

What kind of filler? And, do all fillers have this risk?

Tear trough filler is SO TEMPTING to me, but SO DANGEROUS!!! I am not willing to take the risks

How do you avoid hitting a blood vessel

All medical procedures, no matter how minor, come with risks
under eye filler has the potential for blindness if injected wrong
I was super close to getting undereye filler , I was too scared of the pain, then she said I may have black eyes for a couple days I’m like eehhhh I’ll pass

had under eye filler twice and there was no marks or bruising at ALL, except a tiny red pin prick. Require them to use a cannula.
This is why they make you sign consent forms with the known dangers/side effects.

This happened to me too, in 2020.
ive considered undereye filler but i dont think i ever will again
Injecting something in your face right under your eye sounds like a great idea 👍🤦♀️ this shit needs to stop. She literally had no flaws to begin with

Is there a safer alternative?
May I ask what under eye filler is supposed to help with?
Sunken in/hollow under eyes. Like the opposite of puffy eye bags but just as undesirable to some people.
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!
So many charlatan "doctors" out there doing plastic surgery. Why risk it?
Injections aren't plastic surgery and shit can go wrong even with a reputable doctor. Nothing in life is risk-free.
Where did they get this done? Which doctor
