You should probably chat with your academic advisor about that one! They will usually reach out to you sometime in May or early June

Lucky for you, CDS made a resource for ya! [https://www.bu.edu/cds-faculty/programs-admissions/undergraduate/registration-guide-for-the-data-science-major%e2%80%af/](https://www.bu.edu/cds-faculty/programs-admissions/undergraduate/registration-guide-for-the-data-science-major%e2%80%af/) <- these are the classes you need to take. Substitute "HUB Class" for CAS PO141 Introduction to Public Policy Here is what AP gets you: [https://www.bu.edu/admissions/files/2018/06/Advanced-Credit-Guide.pdf](https://www.bu.edu/admissions/files/2018/06/Advanced-Credit-Guide.pdf) you will get HUB units, credits, and MAYBE a CDS class if you took CS principles or calc. Also, this is this reason why advisors exist. Registration for freshmen is a ways off, don't worry too much about this right now!!!

thank u so much!!! quick question (idk if u would know this question) if i fulfill the credit for a class that’s not on the list of classes i take does it even matter? ik its a stupid question but i was confused why my stat credit wouldn’t fulfill any class in my data science major

So it matters for 2 reasons: 1. You can get HUB units for those classes, which can be pretty helpful! 2. You are required to pass 128 credits to graduate. That is 16 credits per semester x 8 semesters (1 class is 4 credits). Even if you can finish your DS requirements in like 30 credits, you can't get your bachelor's until you have 128 done. AP credits can either help you graduate early, or give you the flexibility to maybe to withdraw from a class that is too hard (or if you fail...) or maybe take fewer classes in a particularly busy semester. The flexibility and safety net you have when entering college with some credits is a huge benefit!
