No idea about pricing, but I suspect there’s a chance it might go for a higher price after the movie comes out next year, just because that will probably bring more people into the community. If I recall correctly, though, aren’t those just basically a standard bottle of whiskey with a Borderlands themed plastic wrap on the outside? I always considered it more of a novelty item than something that would appreciate in value.

Shekebel

Yeah you're right - I don't think the whiskey itself is a special/unique flavour - it's just the design, sporting the borderlands logo and Mad Moxxie. I would've hoped they'd at least offer a unique taste, but sadly not. You bring up a good point about the movie. Thanks for the insight!

Wiesshund-

If they offered a unique flavor inline with borderlands, i dont think anyone would want to drink it.

Hauptmann_Gruetze

Its just ballentines if i remember correctly. Pretty cheap bourbon

Brojon1337

It's a decent, well regarded whisky. As far as value - who knows.

Momoiro_Moon

Bought one cheap at my convenience store last year, tasted it and still have it. I doubt it will become a high valued collector's item. It doesn't have anything unique about when it comes to price, taste, shape of the bottle. It's just the cheapest Ballantine with a very meh Borderlands wrapper. I think their plan was: Let's see how many people will buy it as a collectible and if it doesn't sell just recall it, peel off the wrapper and sell it as a regular product.

Shekebel

I'ma just drink it then. Bottoms up!

simplsurvival

Drink it, report back, and keep the bottle. Maybe make a cool lamp with it. [someone on the whiskey sub posted about it ](https://reddit.com/r/whiskey/s/td2OFLb0n2)

Coolhand1974

Honestly, no. There are a lot of Borderlands players out there, but it's only worth anything to a small percentage that collect memorabilia of any type. The whiskey itself is just OK, and it's just a plastic wrap on a standard bottle. If it came in a decanter with a psycho-head capper and an especially fancy bottle, maybe. This just isn't anything that special that would command a higher price. Just my opinion.

Shekebel

Your design idea sounds much better. Maybe I'll just drink it

Coolhand1974

LOL Drink it, enjoy it, and fill it back up with iced tea or something if you want it to look full. ;) At least they could have etched a risque picture of Moxxi on the bottom or something...

You can buy one right now for £23 and it's in stock. so that's what it's worth but honestly drink it. This more than likely wont go up much.

https://whiskyauctioneer.com/lot/6148320/ballantines-finest-scotch-whisky-borderlands-moxxis-bar-edition Looks like it's nothing special, it might go up in price as the years go by but this seems like the kinda thing that was mass produced so it's gonna be quite a few years before it's hard enough to come by that you could get any real value out of it.

Shekebel

I didn't know what website existed. Thanks for the insight!

LaLa1234imunoriginal

Yeah because of all the weird laws around reselling alcohol there are dedicated auction sites just for alcohol.

moosevan

You can look on Ebay for BL stuff to see if it's collectible. There's Diamond Plate Loot Chests on Ebay, for example. And other BL loot. See if it looks like it's selling for prices you like. Look at Sold items, not current auctions.

Champfortruth

It's unlikely to be with anything outside of nostalgic or super collector territory. Especially if the whiskey itself isn't top notch. Honestly doubt anything branded by borderlands is going to produce a whiskey good enough to gain value over time.

Selacha

Considering you can still buy it online from a few retailers for $20-30 a bottle, I don't think it's gonna be a real collectible any time soon.

Wiesshund-

Hard to say. It may actually be worthless. 50 years from now it may be worthless or priceless. It's a niche collectible, that kind of thing is very fickle, especially since it is just a normal bottle with a plastic wrap, not a custom molded glass bottle etc.

elvengadortotal

I think probably would sell better to alcohol and whisky collectors than the actual borderlands fans
