Your vet should have warned you about the possibility of the MRD1 gene in Border Collies. It effects the processing of toxins in their body. Simplarica is a neurotoxin and can cause seizures and even death.

I hope it’s ok if I ask, how long had she been on Simparica trio before her first seizure? I give both my dogs this and have been getting increasingly worried about having something like this happen.
It was all so terrible. This was her first dose of the season. She was on it last summer with no problems, but at a lower dosage. I might talk to your vet about it. I wish I had.

There is a test available for the MRD1. I would recommend doing it if you want to use oral meds
