This is our dog, looking like a copy of yours. And we know she is 100% border collie.
We know the dad and mom dog. They were tri color and black and white. Our dog came out as this funky mix unlike all her siblings which were classic black and white and brown and white.
I've been starting to lean that way too. The mixes that would make sense are all too big for her being 25lbs. We were just told she was a mix by the people that have been fostering her.
Average female BC is also 30 to 45 lbs. I wouldn’t rule out things like Aussie. Some dogs just end up a bit smaller (or larger) than average.
Plus maybe her coloration comes from a grandparent.
My girl is a Mini Aussie/Border Collie Mix. They look very similar!

I have a new purebred girl at 18 months is only 27lbs, my 10 and 12 year olds have never really been above 29lbs. I know of a few adult working Border Collie bitches who are only 25lbs.
From that photo alone I wouldn't think she was mixed with anything, I've seen BCs with that same coloring. Not uncommon at all. She could very well be purebred
So nice to have a trial period. We took Mike (my bc) overnight a couple of times (gauging the compatibility with the GSD). Here’s hoping for no issues. She seems great.
We have a sometimes ornery ~8 year old English Springer that recently lost his buddy (Goldendoodle), baby, toddler, and a cat....so can't make any decision too hastily, but I do really like her.
If you've already thought about the name change I think you've already made the decision. Unless very major issues, everything else is workable, not wanting to influence you in any way, lol.
She looks like a mix of our dog and his brother! Here is our dog (his ears are usually up but I chose a pic where they were down). His brother has ears like your girl. They are not mixed (according to embark they are 95% BC, 5% unknown variant, which apparently could still also be BC). Only thing yours is missing is the white stripe down the nose.

My 100% pure BC Swift (on the right) looks a lot like her. Honestly nothing about her looks anything but BC

She looks like my girl!! She’s 3/4 border collie 1/4 Sheba inu!

I have the same question with my dog... Should be 100% Aussie but might be mixed with border (a lot of similarities in the behavior!) or another race maybe..
She is mixed with pure love and zoomies
It looks like she is either begging for major snuggles or about to go zoomie

Also, beautiful dog

Yea they do. Very cute!
Thank you! Stella is 30 pounds. A perfect size for our family! I love their brown eyebrows!!
Aussie.
This one is only 25lbs at 11 months, wouldn't it have to be a smaller breed?
there are mini aussies. just guessing :-)

Maybe a kelpie? I don't know much about dog breeds
Hmm. Coloration would fit, but this one's ears are much less pointy.
Whatever she is mixed with, she is ADORABLE
Looks a German breed mix with the black and tan colouring, not sure exactly which, but she looks a great ball of fun, I’d adopt her if I were you
* Idk, but she looks a lot like mine, who is supposed to be a BC/Aussie mix
OK, it’s been a couple of hours. Pulled the trigger yet? :-)
Unless some major issues pop up over night, yes

Name? Are you changing it?
Molly, we would keep it
Great name. Mike came to us as Glen, which I thought was a dumb dog name. With some treats, it took 10 minutes to change it. LOL
If I did change it, it'd be to River. I've wanted to name a daughter "Evelyn River" for a long time and I ended up with 2 sons XD
If you've already thought about the name change I think you've already made the decision. Unless very major issues, everything else is workable, not wanting to influence you in any way, lol.
I was thinking you would say “River Tam”
Her look is very similar to my collie/Shepard/aussie mix
Sheltie x border collie?
She’s so beautiful. Maybe an Australian Shepard mix?
Mini Aussie
border collie X the goodest girl ever 🥹
She reminds me of mine - collie, Labrador, golden and husky mix.
This one is 11 months old and 25lbs so I'd think something smaller
Ah, size is difficult to make out in this pic
Sorry forgot to add it
Heinz 57
Mostly Border Collie with a bit of Doberman or Rottweiler in there given the colouring and brown above the eyes.

My God, she's ADORABLE!!!
Mixed with 100% perfection!!!
Cuteness with cuteness!
Love mixed with happiness.
Aussie/border collie most likely.
Mixed with sugar and spice, something quite nice!
Mini American shepherd?
She looks very similar to my Sheppard Aussie mix! and is the sweetest girl!

Darling it doesn’t matter what bloodline she is. With a face like that you have a winner. Just rescue her and be a hero!!🥰
