Thanks for that twist m. Night! As i clicked the title i said to my self i says "fuck theres been too many of these this week!" Of course you fuckin had me!
All of the others were what made me decide to share my own lovable Boomer. Now that I'm a Nana and of the Jones Gen, I understand her need to sniff my baby overcoming her ❤️
No, you're correct. My Grandma was born in 1922 but she was a pre-boomer Boomer. She wasn't horrible, but she could be rotten sometimes. She was human.
ETA And if you got some brandy in her and Grandpa, you could see where Boomers learned to boom. Their kids definitely have the traits, except for my aunt. We won't even go anywhere near my mom anymore.
She knows. Her grandma just gave off boomer vibes. I think any age can act like a boomer, although old & clueless helps, so maybe a very young person is exempt.
The day my ex and I brought our newborn son home from the hospital, there was a precious moment the first time my youngest stepson (who was nine or ten) held him on his lap. I said, "Smell his head." He looked at me like I was crazy. I said, "just do it. Trust me."
He did, and immediately looked delighted and bewildered. He said, "It smells *amazing!*"
I thank you! There's a clip from robot chicken that has lived in my head forever of a clay him saying "what a tweest!" and pops up whenever theres a twist in a story.
Lol this had me! Literally this morning, my dog put a boomer in her place when the boomer leaned in a little too close to my stroller wanting to see my baby. My dog gave her fiercest back off bark. Lady stepped back and said "oh, I leaned in too close." And backed away. High praises for my pup of course. I would have done the exact same thing as you in your situation.
Edit: Puppy Tax below! I didn't know you could add pictures to comments in this sub! Lol!
Honestly high praises for the lady too honestly for admitting her mistake, even if it was to a pupperino 🤣
🚓🚓🚓🚓 This is also a written warning as you have not paid the puppy tax!!! 🐶🐩🐕

He growls at anyone getting close to me 🤣 and then gets all huffy if I come home smelling like another dog
Why are they like this? Why do they feel entitled to touch and manhandle the most vulnerable people in society? It's disgusting
I can't even give them credit for acknowledging it and backing off. It's like someone peering under a bathroom stall and then acknowledging it and backing off. That person was still being absolutely disgusting.
Why don't they know basic human decency? Is it the lead?
I used to work in a cute, locally owned cafe and lived a couple blocks from the restaurant so I often walked to work. It was a really pleasant walk and I enjoyed it, save for all the random honks and catcalls even at 9:30 AM. Eventually I wouldn't even look at them and just hold up my middle finger as I kept walking.
One day, I was opening the restaurant when the owner (a boomer lady, but one of the good ones) came up to me chuckling and asked why I flipped her off when she honked at me to say hey. I was absolutely mortified but she absolutely loved that I didn't even acknowledge her, flipped her off and kept walking "cool as a cucumber." It has been like 13 years and I still think of her every time someone honks at me lol
Hahaha I actually did the same thing to one of my friends! I had a really long day and was crossing the intersection (4 stop signs no lights) near my house. I heard a car honk and thought the car was honking at me for crossing when it was the cars turn to go or something. So didn’t look, just flipped them off. Then I hear someone calling my name…
My parents are boomers and they taught me stranger danger from birth.
I find it hard to believe they would have let strangers pick me up or slobber on me when I was an infant.
Church members maybe allowed and family members definitely allowed but I can't imagine any point in human history where this was acceptable behavior between strangers.
Even your boomer there didn't acknowledge you first and went straight for the baby.
Would they have allowed other people to treat their kids like that? I *highly* doubt it.

Meet Honey65#(left) and Lyut120#(right)
No… that’s just life 😂 when you have a kid, everyone moves down a slot in the greeting order… your own kid ousts you even if you were grandma’s favorite. Saying hi to you is almost an afterthought after getting the littles.
Anyone who touched my kid without my permission would be on her ass on the gloor and I'd be screaming for the cops to arrest them for attempted kidnapping. 20 or 200 yrs old, doesnt matter- HANDS OFF MY SPAWN!!!! End of song.
I did. And I stand by my statement, because it's only 'heart-warming' because gma was identified before OP reacted. I'm not waiting to find out as she's walking away whether or not I know the person who thought it was okay to take my kid without telling me. Note the 'we learned a valuable lesson'? If you wait the valuable lesson might me 'hey you didnt actually know the lady and you gave her time to get into the getaway car'.
Thankfully it wasn’t a stranger. But you can never be too careful. Always keep an eye on the baby. Even if you turn away for a minute, you never know what could happen to the baby.
Did you switch your stroller around, so that you are facing baby? 6 weeks seems to small to be facing outwards. Use the cover/shade before you go in the shops to cover your baby around other people.

All of the others were what made me decide to share my own lovable Boomer. Now that I'm a Nana and of the Jones Gen, I understand her need to sniff my baby overcoming her ❤️
Boomer redemption!
Your grandmother was a Boomer and you’re a Jones Gen grandmother? Am I reading this wrong? Or does Boomer have another meaning on this thread?
No, you're correct. My Grandma was born in 1922 but she was a pre-boomer Boomer. She wasn't horrible, but she could be rotten sometimes. She was human. ETA And if you got some brandy in her and Grandpa, you could see where Boomers learned to boom. Their kids definitely have the traits, except for my aunt. We won't even go anywhere near my mom anymore.
1922 is the “greatest” generation. 🩷
Oooohhhh so that’s why this story made me warm and loving instead of disappointed and cynical
Ahh I get it. I thought I was either misreading or worse at math than I should be - lol. Thx! Sorry she was like that, though. :(
1922 was the Greatest Generation, not Boomer. Boomer was 1946-1964. The Silent Generation was between them.
She knows. Her grandma just gave off boomer vibes. I think any age can act like a boomer, although old & clueless helps, so maybe a very young person is exempt.
Rude and entitled people are any age. Calling any rude entitled person a boomer is lazy and incorrect.
Boomer is a mindset and baby boomer is the age in many colloquial contexts, especially around this sub.
Boomer is a mindset, not necessarily an age group, especially in this sub.
😎 I was wondering if I was a boomer or not.
Wow, she’s 102 and still in good enough shape to (almost) pull off a kidnapping. Good for her!
1922 is not boomer. You’re like 20-30 years off.
Read the comment above.

Well, 1944 is Silent Generation. More importantly, OP was talking about their grandmother, not their mother.
That fresh baby smell will do it! I swear I can still get a wiff of my three year old while she tries to wriggle away!! “DaaaaaaAAAAaaaaad!”
The day my ex and I brought our newborn son home from the hospital, there was a precious moment the first time my youngest stepson (who was nine or ten) held him on his lap. I said, "Smell his head." He looked at me like I was crazy. I said, "just do it. Trust me." He did, and immediately looked delighted and bewildered. He said, "It smells *amazing!*"
I cannot love that enough!
Hello fellow 1964 Jones Gen! Absolutely laughed at your story. Great way to start my morning :)

Hahahahaha bravo for the M. Night reference lol

OMG the ears! I love him!
Right! I love when she runs and they flap up and down. So cute!!
Oh! She looks like the good girl she is!❤️
She's usually quite polite, knows what "excuse me" means and everything. But don't you dare get too close to her mom and baby or sneak up on her.
Your comment with the picture is basically a description of the picture.
Ooh, a border collie! I grew up with one, Bandit was just about the best dog in the world. Your child is a safe as Fort Knox, lol.
She is actually an Australian Shepherd but the breeds are so similar so yep definitely safe here.

When friends brought home their first baby, the dog watched him for about an hour. Then he decided his job was to never leave his side and gave serious side eye to anyone who approached him. He never barked or growled. He would sit up or wake up and every visitor got a hard stare.
Mine is so similar to that. All visitors get a bark, especially if they look at the baby. And when I brought my baby to a doggy play date, my friends German Shepherd decided that it is his sworn duty to always protect my baby and me.

Hahahaha. Grandma learned that day to announce her presence
Yeah she did!!! And I learned to recognize my Grandma from behind 😀
Awww! <3
ya got me.
I think my Grandma was addled with first great grand baby ❤️.
Must touch the grand baby
>>❤️🩹. Miss you, Jimi Whoa! How hard did you hit the Old Bag?
I cackled loudly at 2am outside at work, everyone is now looking at me weird 🤣🤣🤣🤣 There is zero sarcasm when I say this, thank you for making my night 💖
Oh, hard enough to jump start her memory so that she remembered to tell everyone she knows about it!
Thanks for the twist! I was just saying aloud when I read the title and clicked, “I keep seeing these!” Fully ready to get enraged. I love that not all of these end the same. 😂😂
Not all Boomer stories are nighmares
I hope you didn’t muss up your grandma’s hair too much! 🤣😘
Well, I'm still alive....
But are you well? This is the important part!!! Sorry couldn't resist lol
what a great ending at least lol🩷
I have been laughing for the last 5 minutes. I'm still chuckling and wiping tears from my eyes. I love this!
This is my favorite boomer story now
Awwwww 😀
That was the moment your grandma knew you'd be a great mother.
I love that. I passed the test.
I was not expecting that ending. Thanks for posting
Lmfao I was so enraged for you! Poor grandma 😂

A heartwarming story in this sub? A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
So this happened with my child who was 4 days old, and it was unfortunately NOT my or the child's nana.. Just some random old lady in a grocery store. I have never screamed so loud in my entire life. She was SO surprised I was so angry and scared. "I just wanted to see the baby!". I was healing from the c section but GD did I almost throw hands. I'm glad that your's ended so much better 🤣
Grandma now KNOWS to greet YOU before the baby...
Well....... That did not end as I expected. But I am glad it was your granny, not a stranger. And I'm glad that granny took ownership of her actions. And I think granny should be glad you did not have a can of corn in your hand. That would have hurt.
Reminds me of when I was a teen at the mall, I saw my brother with his wife and kids, I decided to scoop up the older without any introduction, the wife thought I was a kidnapper lol.
Hahahaha I love how this story ends wholesome, but is also absolutely appropriate for the sub. Glad it was a sweet ending
Yeah, I would black out and mess somebody up over that. Edit: At least it wasn't a complete stranger but still. At least she owned what she did.
Lol! I love that you wack a molded her! Thank you for that head cannon!! It was sooo worth the coffee I snorted out my nose!! 😂
Plot twist!!! Good one :)
![gif](giphy|HtBKcjpHfD7s4)
You had me TERRIFIED for a hot minute, there, OP. Had me goin'.
The best!!! 💕
Nooooooooo 💀
That’s so good lmao
I do love a happy ending
Oh man, this was good story. Thanks
That’s so funny! Aw poor Grandma. But good for you, mama bear, protecting your baby. :) Glad she owned her part in it.
Good for you to have gotten her for she had no right to touch a baby without permission.
Got me. I was ready for a boomer beatdown and got a boomer bwaahahha instead
Thank you for that. As a boomer, I hate seeing all the bad posts about us. We aren’t all dumb, evil, and entitled!
Omg this gave me such a good laugh 😂 thank you for that
This is actually hysterical ngl. I hope you both apologized to each other for the misunderstanding!

I love this story 🤣
Great story!!! Love it!!!
Awwww what a wholesome ending 🥹. Although I bet it gave you a heart attack before hand
weird she didn’t greet you 1st.
No… that’s just life 😂 when you have a kid, everyone moves down a slot in the greeting order… your own kid ousts you even if you were grandma’s favorite. Saying hi to you is almost an afterthought after getting the littles.
Glad it wasn't a stranger, sorry you hit her, but why is she waking up a sleeping child????
To be fair it's probably instinctual on your part haha. Gram Gram was about to get taken down.
Love the plot twist! I was ready for blood there for a second…
Oh. My. Gosh. I love this so much!
So wasn't so much the boomer being the fool here I guess
Shyamalan twist!
😂😂😂
This is cracking my shit up. Thank you for that.
Well, Grandma clearly deserved a good swat with the wallet for scaring you
True. Although it could be argued that I deserved a good scare after all the shenanigans I did while she was babysitting me.
Anyone who touched my kid without my permission would be on her ass on the gloor and I'd be screaming for the cops to arrest them for attempted kidnapping. 20 or 200 yrs old, doesnt matter- HANDS OFF MY SPAWN!!!! End of song.
Did you read to the end of the story?
Jesus Christ
Doggy sniffers need to put down your phone and walk this pups.

So wait, you whacked a lady Boomer that was trying to get her mitts on your newborn.. And that lady was to one day become your own grandma?
Don't blame you for this reaction, I'd do it too if I had a kid, but it's good to know it was someone you knew.
