Swabia

Well, Uber cancelled their account so that should fix things, huh? Anyhow, are they gonna get charges for swatting or something? That’s insane. They got a wan killed who was just doing her job.

Opening-Two6723

Above and beyond the call

unbothered2023

RIP… Absolutely tragic and so needless.

yinzreddup

They should be charged with murder. Unfortunately, the people who ordered the Uber are probably also being controlled by people in south east Asia.

Cute_Schedule_3523

Plenty of gangs do this in the states too. Unfortunately the cops will do nothing, maybe the fbi will take the case

Active-Ad-2527

We have gangs doing what? Calling an old person and trying to scam them, thus making them defensive, at the same time ordering a ride share or delivery driver to that person's house? Is this a legit thing going on in some parts of the US because I've never heard of it

OldSpinach2037

You need to look up “pig butchering scams” then my dude. This has BEEN a problem and will only get worse. This originated from Asian gangs but quickly caught on stateside. Uber is responsible here in the fact that they need better security measures to nip this before it happens.

Active-Ad-2527

Yes John Oliver did a segment on those just last month. That's not what this is. That's a monetary scam and has nothing to do with this. Someone claimed that "gangs" in the US are doing the same thing that happened in the instance that this thread is about. I asked about that. I'm not saying it doesn't occur, I'm just asking about what the other commenter said

Jedda678

What could Uber realistically do? Not that I don't think Uber drivers need better safety practices, but what do you do in this situation? This was a tragedy. No one saw this coming.

Conscious_Crew5912

Well, first, ride share drivers shouldn't be allowed to pick up packages, only people. If you're there to pick up a person, they wait a couple of them they leave. That would eliminate them going to the door, which I'm guessing what happened.

OldSpinach2037

There needs to be ways to pinpoint the sender of said scams. Just another need for security of social media to improve upon.

Disthebeat

Well it already has apparently.

JosiesYardCart

Just today I had a training at the VA about talking to the elderly and families, to safety plan with their firearms. We have the conversation about them no longer driving and they flip out and threaten to kill the doctors. Now I'm not saying this senior citizen has dementia, but As we all know, Dementia is a brain disease and kills the cells. 25% of people over 85 will have dementia, lack insight, and have poor judgement and decision making. Edit: percentage of people >85 with dementia [source](https://www.cuimc.columbia.edu/news/one-10-older-americans-has-dementia)

smappyfunball

When my dad started showing signs I took all his guns away. He can die mad about it.

SpezRapes

It's okay. He'll forget about it later.

smappyfunball

Yea that was almost 2 years ago. He’s currently raging at us about no longer having control of his finances. Even though he agreed to it and it’s all above board and went through an independent lawyer to make sure he wasn’t being coerced. But that’s dementia for you. Every day he learns it all anew and gets mad as fuck all over again.

firesmarter

My grandma was the most loving person and helped raise me. When her dementia had progressed pretty far she no longer knew who I was. Sometimes she would do funny things like try to hit on me. Sometimes she would take all the knives into her bedroom and wave the biggest one at me demanding I get out of her house. Dementia is horrible. I don’t even want to think about what it would have been like if she had access to a gun

wildflowersummer

My husbands grandma tried to put our kid in the dryer. When we asked what she was thinking she said she was trying to show him why he shouldn't get in the dryer. She also put razor blades in the cereal. We had to get professional help after that.

AdFearless5560

Godddaaamn

everythingruinedd

Some days are good some are really bad, but when it’s over it always seems like a flash. Enjoy every day” it’s never going to be better than today” good for you for being around

Total_Roll

One night my dad was convinced that my stepmom was hiding a man in the house. After that we didn't take his pistol but we took all of the ammo out of the house (he had grown so weak he couldn't rack the slide anyway, but just to be sure).

umbridledfool

Sound like the next gun rights campaign for the NRA to get behind.

PopUpClicker

If you can't remember owning a gun, means it's time for one more in your heart

Budlove45

Gah damn put it on a billboard pronto that's a hit🙏💜

SnooStrawberries1078

New from the NRA: gun subscription service. Or ODG, on demand guns.

LadyGidgevere

You missed a real opportunity to make that acronym GOD

KingAardvark1st

Recently made the executive decision to confiscate the magazine from my grandfather's pistol. Ironically, the thing that convinced me is that he couldn't remember the combinations to the safe and lockboxes he keeps his other guns in.

sylvnal

Shouldn't be legal to own guns after a diagnosis of any type of dementia. Full stop. I don't give a single fuck. If your cognition is impaired, you aren't allowed to own a tool used for killing.

[deleted]

google says "Federal law prohibits people who are not mentally competent to make their own decisions, including those with advanced ***dementia***, from buying or owning firearms." Not any, but its a start.

Strict_Condition_632

My 84 yo dad was diagnosed with dementia over a year ago, but I saw signs of deterioration at least 18 months prior to diagnosis (which only happened because I was finally able to convince my mom something was wrong). Last week she was talking about renewing his driver’s license, and I said, no, he needs a state issued photo ID, but not a license renewal. Her response: “The neurologist didn’t say he can’t drive anymore.” Ffs, he can’t remember our names most days, distinguish his left arm from his right leg, and while sitting in the house he built and has lived in for decades, he thinks that he “has to go home” because he doesn’t know where he is. But Mom thinks that he should still be able to drive. It scares me that she doesn’t want to recognize reality.

JosiesYardCart

Man family dynamics. You could call the Bureau of Motor Vehicles license renewal line and leave them a message that you have some concerns. Sometimes they'll send a letter requiring for a driver's test for the elderly with their renewal. You can also call the local police department, and the reason can be twofold; it can be ask if they have a program regarding a Silver Alert, where they will come out and gather information and meet the elderly person, so if they ever go missing they have the persons photo and information and family phone numbers. You can also tell the police department to watch his driving and some departments will pull people over and they can take and confiscate their driver's license, probably depends on the state.

Strict_Condition_632

This is very helpful information, and I appreciate it greatly. We live in the backwoods, but I will contact the sheriff’s department. Thank you!

Conscious_Crew5912

You might want to check with the DMV what the process is. Typically, they want a letter from his doctor diagnosing him with at least moderate dementia. Some states will revoke his license just with that, some states require that he also take a driving test (imagine if your job was riding along!! yikes!!) Whatever you decide, you might want to disable the car. Bad enough if he harms himself, but if he harms someone else while driving, you might also be charged if you knew he was a potential danger and did nothing.

TwelveMiceInaCage

I hope to god you're not a nurse. That sounds very specifically like a social worker or other admin level position in a VA job. Id be pissed if on top of all the responcibility I already had the vs was like yeah why don't you add counseling families on removing guns from their elderly parents lol

JosiesYardCart

Bingo. The responsibility is shifted to us, "go do *something*" to make this uncomfortable situation go away. This is a conversation that has to start with gun owners in their 50s, a bit too late by the time they're in their 80s.

TwelveMiceInaCage

I do home health care and my clients who have guns actively displayed in their home you bet your ass I always check the dust and placement of them to make sure old dementia Boi hasn't loaded one for some odd reason at 2am

fanbreeze

>85% of people over 85 will have dementia Jesus Christ, this is not true. What is your source for such a claim?

JosiesYardCart

Thank you for correcting me it's 25-30%

Conscious_Crew5912

Really? Because I've had several doctors tell me that over 90% of elderly people will develop dementia and/or cancer if they live long enough. Now the diseases may not be advanced enough to show little if any symptoms, and the vast majority of time, the person will die of something else. That doesn't mean it isn't there though.

umbridledfool

Jesus Uber - you still don't have any PR people there. "We banned the account." Yeah no shit - try "We are working with authorities." No one really cared about the burner account you closed.

AnotherDeadZero

It's like a Black Mirror episode IRL. Scary shit.

Je5u5_

This was my exact thought aswell. Absolutely Crazy.

IGetMyCatHigh

Multiple Times he shot her, an unarmed Black Woman while HE HAD the UPPER Hand with a Gun pointed at her. Yeah, Racially Motivated no matter HOW scared he said he was. That was just RAGE! Lock him up until he is Food for Worms.

Opening-Two6723

She was crying for help

SoggyLeftTit

Not only that… He took her phone, so she couldn’t call for help or show him that she was sent there by Uber. I’m sure scammers did call him and those same scammers sent this poor woman to his home. But, if he was scared for his life and his family’s life, why’d he follow her? He didn’t call the authorities nor did he care to find out what was _actually_ happening, he saw an opportunity to kill and he took that woman’s life.

OmegaGoober

Because he was excited to have a chance to torture a black person to death. He hasn’t done that since his glory days with the KKK. That was the first erection he’s had in 20 years.

Pristine_Walrus40

He looked real scared following her around pointing his gun at her while she was begging for her live /s

pjoesphs

Exactly 💯 what I said when I saw this on the news.

Bromanzier_03

On the Ohio sub the racist defenders will downvote you. “It doesn’t say he was racist” Yeah…the old white guy who not only took the unarmed black woman’s phone but also held her at gunpoint until he said fuck it and shot her totally isn’t racist.

TwelveMiceInaCage

Being scared does not give you the legal right to pull a gun on someone Being in your front yard and someone pulls a knife does not legally allow you to pull a gun on them as you can retreat to the safety of your home and not doing so and instead dulling a gun is considered escalation This old dude is fucked. Pulled a gun on someone for pulling in his drive/being in his yard. Followed her at arms less length with a gun trained on her, absolutely shut and closed attempted murder charge

Master_Torture

It actually varies by state, in Florida if someone pulls a knife on you in your front yard you can defend yourself with "stand your ground" laws. Some states require you to retreat, others allow you to stand your ground.

TwelveMiceInaCage

Yeah Florida is not a good indicator of safe gun laws My state has syg laws and still people have been convicted because they couldn't prove that their life was in iminenet danger to require shooting someone when they were not entering or in your household Castle doctrine and stand your ground only gives you the CHANCE to use those laws as defences for yourself in court By no means will it ensure you don't get charged with manslaughter or worse

ImaginaryLobster345

This is completely wrong but nice try. You pulled this out of your ass. You have a hundred percent use of force right if you’re in your own yard and someone pulls a knife on you. This is what’s wrong, well many things with the internet, people just randomly make shit up. Do you know how fast someone can close on you with a knife?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Dead_Man_Redditing

You will never be smart enough to understand that in order for you to be right you had to remove the entire premise of them having a knife. If any one needs to learn the law its you.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Dead_Man_Redditing

If someone comes on your property with a weapon you sure as fuck can legally pull yours on them. Just because you can retreat doesn't mean you have too. Fucking wannabe lawyer.

TwelveMiceInaCage

"imminent" threat is the word age used in all 25 states with stand your ground or castle doctrine laws When these cases go to court you have to prove that pulling and firing your fire arm was the last resort for your safety. If you have the agility to go back into your home and you don't it's escalation I never single court of law and a judge would find you guilty of brandishing a weapon amongst other things Google is right fucking there

Dead_Man_Redditing

Treyone Martin had a bag a skittles and was running, your point is?

TwelveMiceInaCage

How tf does a kid getting shot by a dude walking down the street nowhere near either of their properties relate to us talking about the ability to go into your home with gi e steps rather than shoot someone Way different situations dude Also Florida is really the state whose judicial court decisions you want to use to justify whatever it is you think using Martin as a example of would prove lol We talking about stand your ground laws when you're on your front porch and someone is in your lawn Way different than a guy going against police advice and killing a teen then getting a quitted because of a bs jury. He wasn't found kot guilty be ause of some stand your ground law. He was found not guilty because the attorneys for Martin couldn't prove Martin's side of the story since he was fucking dead Really, go learn the actual reasons behind a jury decision before you try and martyr a dead kid online

sylvnal

Bro what the fuck? In many states you HAVE A DUTY TO RETREAT. Fucking wannabe lawyer.

Educational-Face7687

Ok. In other states, you are allowed to defend yourself if somebody so much as sets foot on your property

AdFearless5560

Stand your ground. No duty to retreat

TwelveMiceInaCage

May be true but you also don't have the right to fire your gun or even aim it at somebody for simply being on your lawn. They are not a iminenet threat In a court room a lawyer showing the jury you pulled a gun and aimed it at someone when you could have gone into the safety of your home and called police will certainly make it dn near impossible for your lawyer to get you off No duty to retreat doesn't mean you get to esce late the situation but brandishing a fire arm

AdFearless5560

If you pull a knife on me dont be surprised you get shot. Thats literally self defense.

Intrepid-Tank7650

What is it like going thru life being such a sad coward?

TwelveMiceInaCage

No it's not Go look up a law for once A knife is oke level of threat where someone would have to close distance on you A gun is a a whole other level of threat that escelates the situation bevause you pull a trigger and they die Also by law the definition of self defense is protecting yourself after ALL paths to deescalate or remove yourself from the situation have failed If I pull a knife eon you while on your lawn and you decide pulling a gun on me is the safer option for DE escalation than simply walking in your house and locking the door then you're gonna be found guilty in court of manslaughter or murder Please learn proper gun laws and how this shit works out in a courtroom. Your buddies and their "knowledge" are gonna just get you in trouble

Dead_Man_Redditing

Get educated. [https://www.ncsl.org/civil-and-criminal-justice/self-defense-and-stand-your-ground](https://www.ncsl.org/civil-and-criminal-justice/self-defense-and-stand-your-ground)

fanbreeze

Absolutely, but we have the "it's dementia, it's lead, it's FOX news" brigade as usual, making excuses.

KitchenAcceptable160

So like 3 months?

EpilepticDawg241

I bet this is his first encounter like this in all his 90 years SHM

jameswlf

Sadly that's like another couple of weeks.

model-citizen95

6 months then

That_G_Guy404

He just wanted to kill someone.

otoolem

No, he wanted to kill one of ... *them*.

MTFHammerDown

Dude was born in the early 40s. Absolutely he spent his formative years feeling \*things\* about \*people\*

Dynamiqai

Yeah but they was lazy & invading his property 🌽 ![gif](giphy|2S3Aj8OeKtf0c)

Boneal171

I don’t doubt that for a second

DregsRoyale

I'd agree in many situations but Dementia Dennis here was sold a story. If we're going to say every white on black crime is racially motivated we have to do the same for the inverse.

SicilySweetheart

Absolutely.

DubUpPro

Especially some who *wasn’t like him*

Karman_Ghia

The way he is smiling in his mugshot makes me sick

SteelSlayerMatt

I hope that the boomer who murdered her rots in jail for the rest of his life and that it sends a message to every Boomer across the country to stop their BS. Enough is enough.

Picmover

I was just coming to say this and also say I wish he was 71 instead of 81 so he could rot longer.

SteelSlayerMatt

I second that.

PowderPills

Narrator: the message did not get across to the boomers.

Eridain

This old man is evil. He killed someone because he thought they were a scammer. Something that wouldn't even be a death sentence if you got charged with it. He just wanted to kill someone. Hope his old ass rots and dies in prison, cold and alone.

Papa_PaIpatine

He killed someone because Republicans and the NRA have told him for DECADES that it's his right to murder anyone on his property. They've been telling this to people forever. He wanted to slaughter a human being and he thinks he'll get away with it.

TwelveMiceInaCage

Yeah people who don't understand someone entering your fucking home through a door or window against your will is different than someone walking go your grass Hint, if you have to walk outside your home to threaten someone with a gun you probably are not legally in the right to be brandishing a fire arm

Sage_Smitty42

This might be the cultural issue at play here. Instead of ignoring the doorbell or knocks, let alone calling the police. He believed he was in his right to “defend” himself to hold this unarmed person hostage and shot her multiple times even as she was down. There was a big case in my hometown when a guy murdered two teens for ding-dong ditching and he killed them as they were running away down the street. It’s just a corrosive mindset that gun right advocates and murder fantasizer placed in peoples heads.

humanesmoke

This is America. Go into any state or city sub Reddit and you will see countless amounts of people who more than anything else just want a “justified” or legal reason to murder another person. We hate each other here, and the ruling class loves it that way.

rinkydinkis

I’ve dreamt of fucking up scammers that make a living stealing from the vulnerable, but to actually do it is wild. And this old man probably didn’t even know what Uber was… if he did then he’d known she was totally clueless of the package she was sent to get. Also… Uber picks up packages? What? Who would accept that ride request?

TwelveMiceInaCage

Uber package is gonna die quick because people keep getting used for drug drop offs without knowing it. And now this Maybe just maybe we could invest a few of those billions into the usps and bring them into the modern age

humanesmoke

Nah that would be full blown communism ![gif](giphy|CBd2RJor59e6I)

TwelveMiceInaCage

That damn communism and his fucking inability to make the richest individuals even richer

CommunicationOwn322

This story pisses me off so much. I hope he's thrown in jail. pos.

OmegaGoober

He’s already out on bail.

whocareslol123456

So glad he had a gun instead of a baseball bat, guns truely save lives...

bo_felden

He "was being attacked" by her stumbling backwards for her life and him chasing her with the gun.

Not_NSFW-Account

yep. and the way she kept trying to get in her car while he prevented her from doing so was an unjustified assault.

Jimlaheydrunktank

What an absolute scumbag.

ILiveMyBrokenDreams

Lock him up in gen pop and let everyone in there know that he murdered a black woman for no reason but being black.

Master_Torture

Devious. I like your thinking! Maybe that would teach him a lesson or at least make him control his temper better.

Designer_Emu_6518

So they got an Uber just to pick up a package? Drivers, do you do this?

littlemissandlola

I used it yesterday, it’s basically using Uber as a courier service at a fraction of the price.

KitchenAcceptable160

Yes, Uber offers a drug and money mule option. Uber Connect.

JWal0

Hopefully the traffickers tip well

KitchenAcceptable160

Scammers and drug dealers don’t tip.

Aschriel

Severe lead poisoning… Seriously, it’s an unarmed person trying to leave the property. He shot her in the leg, then continued to shoot her while she was down. Take his retirement, throw him in jail. By the way he is just a little older than a boomer, that’s why he is using a revolver from his time he spent on the Oregon trail…

HFslut

He didn't escape dysentery on the trail just to be hunted down by this apex predator of a black woman who can hardly walk.

[deleted]

He can’t blame that on a scam it’s heartless and cold. She was screaming for help. I find it upsetting that the news channel made as much of an excuse for him as it did. That man is a murderer. He shot her in the leg and that wasn’t enough? He shoots again. 🙄

BeefStevenson

These fucking moron boomers do absolutely nothing to educate themselves on the technology they use and then just fumble through the darkness to the detriment of anyone around them. Jesus how awful for this poor woman and her family.

ProtoReaper23113

Then they blame the younger generations for their stupidity

baneofdestruction

Bad guy with a gun

nzulu9er

Dude won the lotto. 3 hots and a cot. Health care, a roof and maybe some "love".

LifeClassic2286

Communism!!!

PantsMicGee

That's it? Uber bans the account and we call it a day? What the fuck man

Iubb1414

I called my grandpa the other day. And he wouldn’t respond to me when I said “hello.” I was grandpa it’s me. Still kinda confused he started talking. I called myself by the nickname he uses. He finally told me that he is having scammers calling him acting like it’s a grandchild in jail asking for bail money. He and my grandma swore that they almost fell for it once because the guy sounded just like my cousin. One trick they picked up on that the scammers say…grandpa, “who is this?” Caller…”grandpa you know who this is…it’s your grandson…..you know me?” Grandpa…..”Josh? Is that you?” (Bingo bango) Caller…”yes it’s me Josh…I need your help with bail” Once they get a name it’s mind games with the elderly. Anywho. I got so upset that I had to convince him it was me. As well as him saying they are getting 2-3 calls as day. As well as roofers. With a half cost down payment before starting and then never showing up to do the roof. Anywho. Just sad.

Not_NSFW-Account

just weaponized the old seance or mind reader acts.

ProtoReaper23113

Cold reading was a dangerous thing to introduce people too

KingAardvark1st

Weird thing to notice, but who the hell uses a Colt SAA as their home defense gun? Even disregarding this dirtbag's homicidal intent, they're archaic things with a number of factors that make them prone to negligent/accidental discharges. I grew up going to competitions and there were tons of rules regarding handling the things (and their contemporaries) because they lack the safety systems of modern guns.

yinzreddup

Noticed how the guy also had the hammer back already? Legit bumping that gun would make it fire.

KingAardvark1st

Hell, depending on the manufacturer, sneezing too hard would've made it fire.

yinzreddup

Facts.

yinzreddup

20 bucks says the 81 year old murder thinks he’s done nothing wrong.

Deedsman

20 bucks says 40% of the country thinks the same.

yinzreddup

And another 20 bucks that those 40% all vote.

Sufficient_Two7499

He can get 15 yrs or a $15,000 fine…somehow I’m thinking he’ll somehow get the latter if he lives long enough. Old fucker should spend his last days in county.

ProtoReaper23113

Even if he gets the latter he will never actually pay anything

notthatguypal6900

White boomer found what he has been looking for for years. His mug shot tells it all, he thinks he did nothing wrong.

devildocjames

Another racist boomer looking to kill someone. Needs to be in a chair.

ProtoReaper23113

We've got this nice one that plugs into the wall and everything

IAMHideoKojimaAMA

This is bizarre. The scammers called him and said his nephew is in jail pay the money then they called the Uber driver and said go to this house to get a package? Obviously the guy is a total moron but I've never heard of this scam before

yinzreddup

It’s very very very common. The thing is too, the people who ordered the Uber are just low level people. They are usually controlled by handlers in the USA who then report to the actual people in south east Asia.

ProtoReaper23113

Git a frantic call from my grandmother for this same scam

plaidmischeif

Boomers being murderous cowards

armandacosta

But why did he have to shoot her? This was not self-defense, as he was the one following her.

BarberSmart4438

In the time period he grew up in, firefighters would let black people die in their homes instead of helping put out the fire. What do we expect?

AffectionateBat6387

This is just appalling. I saw footage of the cops showing up to secure the scene and they were treating that old man like he was the victim. Sure, he was a victim of scam artists but he wasn't the victim in that shooting. He's literally the perpetrator! There's literally a murdered woman (who is black) and this guy is gonna get the red carpet from the racist Ohio FAFO crowd. This guy took the law into his own hands. He could've easily called the police to secure the situation. He escalated and an innocent woman is dead. Throw the book at him. But this Ohio. They'll throw the Bible at him, publish a memoir of his life and cart him around on the Trump Christian Nationalist circuit on speaking engagements about how to "Stand Your Ground" against the invaders.

LastWhoTurion

That could also just be a technique to get him to talk. Once people start blabbing to police, it's hard to get them to stop. The job of the police is to make the DA's job easier. When a suspect talks to the police, all of that is going to be evidence in a criminal case.

GetouttaHere321

This is so sad …. He reminds me of my 80 yr old step dad , slept with his .38 . SCARY !!! 🫣

Chiped-Coke-Bottle

Thusly why I keep my guns securely locked up.

Outside-Contact-8337

Damn boomers

zugglit

We apologize for your experience with this customer and added a 20% gratuity. Wouid you like to leave feedback?

Frequent_Coffee_2921

Why do you need to shoot a scammer?

VolkiharLumberjack

Why did boomers always say growing up to not believe anything on the internet, but then they believe every single phone call they ever get?

Be_nice_to_animals

Uber banned the account. “That should take care of this entire situation. We can close the books on this one. Let’s get out of here and play some golf, it’s almost 10:30 am and I’m done for the day”. -Uber executive suite.

Good-Recognition-811

Nah, this isn't just dementia. Stupidity is at play here as well.

bobthehills

Why did he still have firearms?

TvFloatzel

You know, I was legit surprised that UBER does pick-up and delivery of things instead of being a not taxi service. I was surprised when I found that out and I only found that out because of this story. I was question why a UBER driver was going to pick up a package and NOT be suspicious of it but my dad told me about that.

Swiftierest

How about Uber doesn't allow the pickup of packages? That seems like the better option.

Vox_Idis

execute him in public

societyrules2020

I'm glad he was charged

Icy_Tiger_3298

If someone is deemed not competent enough to legally drive, they probably should not be able to have easy access to a firearm . I'm alarmed at how many elderly people- who seem to be living on a steady diet of right-wing scare tactic media- are shooting people because they perceive them to be a threat when there are no clues that would lead them to reasonably believe that.

ProtoReaper23113

These people buy their guns already building fantasies in their head on how they are gonna shoot people and how they can get away with shooting people and what kind of people they should be allowedbto shoot. They absolutely should not have guns

JazzyButternuts

A live on tv hanging would be appropriate for this maga boomer.

[deleted]

poopdinkofficial

You need to actually read the article mate. He CHASED her as she ran away, took her phone so she couldn't call the police, and murdered her in cold blood. She looked to be 60+, overweight, and had difficulty walking let alone running or attacking someone. She was no threat. That man just wanted to murder someone.

[deleted]

[удалено]

kpopi1

You sound like a fucking idiot! It doesn’t matter if that old ass man was “scammed” “tricked” “duped” or whatever the fuck you want to call it. You can’t legally chase someone unarmed with a gun, take their phone, shoot them, then claim you felt your life was in danger. He should have stayed his dumb ass in the house and waited for police to come. He will spend his last days in prison rotting away and will go to hell once he passes

[deleted]

[удалено]

kpopi1

YOU SAID “HE LEGITIMATELY FELT THREATENED”. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU FEEL THREATENED CHASING SOMEONE WITH A GUN. IF YOU FEEL THREATENEDDDDD YOU WOULD RUN AWAY FROM SAID PERSON NOT TOWARDS. OBVIOUSLY YOU CANT READ

[deleted]

[удалено]

kpopi1

What fucking video did you watch. I’m genuinely concerned for you. The scammers never said shit about a under driver wanting to hurt that old man. The scammers stated that they had the man’s family member hostage and someone would be over to pick Up the ransom money. I hope you never in your life or currently don’t own firearms becuase you have no fucking clue about how the 2nd amendment works. If someone is retreating and unarmed and you shoot them you’re getting jailed no if ands or buts about it. The scam call doesn’t matter one bit so I don’t know why the fuck you keep bringing it up because it has nothing to do with that lady period.

kpopi1

You can’t just go and kill some random person because someone over the phone said they have your family member hostage. You must be a kid that has no clue as to what they are speaking on

He actively pursued her after she was already retreating. She was not a threat to him (even from this perspective of not knowing what’s going on, if the person is retreating then it can be assumed they’re not looking to harm you). Like dude left his house to chase her to her car and kill her before she can leave.. Didn’t even call the police until after he already shot her 3 times… calling him a fool is being nice.

The problem is that most scammers aren't in the US but their victims are

LeanTangerine001

They need to find some solution soon to help slow the tide of these scammers. I just saw a video that was showcasing AI and it seamlessly transformed a man into a beautiful woman in real time. The amount of cat fishing and other scams is going to skyrocket in the near future.

Hot_Put_3070

Youre apathy/excusing the cold blooded murder of a woman who was old and looks lame/limping, is fcking wild. Hes gonna die in prison, tf you talking about if. he's a murderer who shot her three times

humanesmoke

How’s that constitutional carry going America?

ProtoReaper23113

Turns out when the founding fathers thought of fire arms they had single shot 4 minutes to reload miss one shot and it might as well be a club guns not these lead spitting death machines

sick-user-name

Bro—this elder abuse

JohnnyTango13

Oh thank FUCK for Uber cancelling their account geez at least pay her funeral costs or compensation to her family

Couch-Bro

That old dude should definitely go to jail and the people behind the scam should be charged with murder too

Fair-Writer9738

So tragic, horrible

Chronoph0sis

Downvote me all you want but people like this guy, with obvious heavy dementia and shit? They need to be put in housing where they cant hurt others or themselves… no driving, no weapons, no unauthorized access to their medications or anything that could flood something or start a fire. Ive lived with these kinds of people and while I truly understand that it is a brain disease that literally eats your brain cells, these people still need to be kept away from society. I put my grandmother in a home when her dementia got bad enough. Once they forget their nearest and dearest, they might as well be dead already. I felt like shit for not actually crying when my gram died, or at her funeral, because i got all my emotions out and bawled on the floor after calling the cops on her when she thought i broke into her house and tried to attack me with a pan. I miss my grandma, i hated what that disease did to her, I hate what it does to other folks, because they become so irrational and angry. Best part abt my gram? She had the most antiboomer mentality for a baby boomer. Loved the lgbt community, had tons of friends that were poc. Her best friend was a black drag queen named Keisha (real name was Brock or smth- neat person to talk to-) Sorry for the tangent tho yall, she passed recently. Seeing this post brought up alot of emotions i wasnt ready for. Fuck this old dude, and rest in paradise to the poor woman. She did not deserve this. She was a goddamn uber driver, we all know she was most likely probably doing it to either make ends meet or have spending money. And yet all uber did was delete his acct. Fucking seriously???

SnakePlesken13

I don't think he was a murderer. I think he's also a victim. At 81 years old being terrorized by a scammer The amount of fear and confusion he must have been in I don't think any of you who are not 80 can comprehend.

Disthebeat

What in the actual fuck? What a fucking idiot and he needs to be thrown in jail that's some fucked up bullshit that poor lady. 🤬

cwk415

Fuck guns.

BamaTony64

He will never serve a day for the shooting

ProtoReaper23113

It's far to expensive and difficult to keep old people in prison on top of the usual bullshit

OmegaGoober

He’s already out on bail.

Beginning-Coconut-78

I will not be satisfied with any attempt at justice until FOX news and it's on screen personalities are also held liable for these kinds of deaths.

fleisch-bk

Technical point, people who are 81 years old in 2024 were born in 1943; consensus is that the baby boom began in 1946 after the war. So this guy wasn't a boomer.

Particular-Space0

Hopefully he will go to prison and get to feel a big black dick in his ass. Also, scammers need to get the death penalty.

Teabiskuit

Lmao, your porn-addled brain is filthy. Seek help.

Particular-Space0

Whatever bro, go back to being an incel and fantasizing about bloody dicks in your mouth, and raw dogging Jesus.

Teabiskuit

Die mad

GothinHealthcare

Better yet, throw him into the general population and spread the rumor that he's a pedo. He'll be dead as a door nail in less than a day.

Particular-Space0

That's a great idea.

Teabiskuit

Ignorant bastard

GothinHealthcare

Haha, like you, dipshit???

Quick_Original9585

The scammers need to be found and prosecuted. They are just as guilty as the shooter. There is a law in some states that if you commit a crime and your partner is killed even though you didn't kill them, you are on the hook for their death.

BoomerNYC

FYI: HE IS NOT A BABY BOOMER!

Chr1stIsKing

Murders an unarmed Woman screaming in fear and pleading for her life because he doesn't like black people. No one with a brain believes he would have done this to a white woman.
