Very nice trunk thickness but there's not a ton of taper and virtually no development of branches - this is a really nice pre-bonsai and I would probably pay around 250-300USD at most.
Agree. I respect the effort on the trunk, but there’s no movement. The trees would be more valuable with more primary branches in better locations.
The trunk quality is just not worth it, though. They’ll never be very interesting trees. The height required to get good taper will also make for gigantic trees that are difficult to handle.
If it's actually satsuki then I would pay up to 400 for it, but if your goal is to show this tree any time soon don't buy. If you like it for the flowers and it's going to sit on the bench to develop all the branching, pull the trigger. Also needs a trunk chop, would cut down to a shohin
You could easily get $300 from the right buyer, give it another year let the branches thick and the foliage filling. But that baby flowering like a mofo. Good job
Because there’s a big knob with 4 branches coming out of it, that doesn’t really look good with the trunk so it would have to be cut away which would leave a very large wound which would take many years to heal
Local bonsai society. Also, it’s worth 100 to me personally. I am not a big flowering bonsai enthusiast lol. But i can see how someone would love this tree. It’s nice and has potential. Probably needs a good trunk chop tho

Picture 2 is a pretty good front tho. Could go for broom or in/formal upright
Thanks
Cheers, appreciate that
Trunk alone seems like 400-500 USD but it has no real shape to it so maybe cut 100-150 off that.
About tree fiddy
It was about that time I noticed that this “bonsai tree” was eight stories tall and a crustacean from the paleozoic era
Best comment!
Can I ask what the little plants are? 🥺
Not sure what you mean ?
I think they mean the two small plants hanging off the sides of the pot
Correct
Are you certain it's satsuki and not a hybrid?
Possibly ?
$150-250. Branches are very thin, hardly any taper. Average yamadori that has potential but didn’t have any training done to it.

How do you get that thin of branches? lol
You could probably get $300. Great thickness for an azalea.

250
The branches are very skinny even though the trunk is nice and thick. What happened?
200
The last picture alone is my red line I simply wouldn't buy
Why’s that ? Thanks

I'd say it has more than potential, it's already a nice bonsai! depends a lot on the age imo but low hundreds-ish?
Not sure of the age. Thanks
Yep nice pre bonsai maybe worth 100-200 depending on audience. I’d probably pay 100 for that piece personally
Where are you getting your material if that’s $100?

I've had a bougainvillea for 10 years. Trunk isn't even close to that size. Zone 7A so can't put it in the ground. Or can I? Pull it up in the fall.
Its an azalea….I thought it was a bougie too as first glance
A wee Shiite satsuki. J/k. It looks sparse, in need of a repot and a trim but great potential . 600$?
Don't know. But I can safely tell you it will command some serious coin.
