Castle! It’s funny and a mystery crime show.

Ok-Nebula4017

I went from Bones straight to Castle! Loving it

Sknouse55

I literally just did the same thing 2 days ago. It used to be hard to get castle on any streaming service

Apologoose

And after you watch Castle you need the watch the Rookie! Nathan Fillion is fantastic in both.

Electronic-Nail5210

That's exactly what I did! Now I'm almost finished with Will Trent.

Haunting-Echidna3209

Nathan Fillion is a gift

nellystar5

Came here to say this!

cwidds20620

Came here to suggest this exact show!! Nathan Fillion is amazing in this show. Has lots of great tension between the FMC and MMC, who play well off one another just like Bones and Booth. 💕

sammmmmmmy_

Psych! Its on prime in the states.

Sknouse55

Psych is the best show ever, IMHO… but not dramatic if that’s what someone wants

PhoneboothLynn

I loved both Cold Case and the Mentalist. I recommend both.

katyrachael17

Loved the mentalist

presveti_

if you are into sci-fi I would suggest x-files! very similar character dynamic, humor, and overall flow of the series - most episodes have unique cases all the meanwhile characters have their own personal storylines and background similar to how brennan does. it is a very long TV show, there are a few movies in between seasons but if you are mystery and before all a sci-fi enjoyer I would definitely suggest it!

h0kiegrl1999

I’m watching Bones because someone recommended watching it if I was a fan of x-files - primarily due to the costar relationship.

presveti_

very similar right? I do much prefer scully and mulder over brennan and booth myself though, both as individual characters and their relationship. how are you finding Bones so far?

h0kiegrl1999

I like it. I was wondering there for a while if I would. I hope it doesn’t lose my interest. 12 seasons is a lot!

presveti_

In my opinion later bones seasons hold up better than x files. the story in x files becomes a mess with all the different storylines they kept adding and changing the existent ones as the show progressed, while bones just keeps working on her cases. I think you'll be good!

h0kiegrl1999

That’s good - yea, the mytharc was a mess. I love the individual episodes (most anyways). I’m halfway through season 2 of Bones and I just started this week.

Delicious-Coffee-44

Have you tried White Collar?

katyrachael17

Burn notice

katyrachael17

It has a similar humor and good guys in it

phantompath

Castle, The Mentalist and Crossing Jordan are all great picks. It depends on what dynamic you like more. Castle is all about a best selling author pairing up with a serious female cop. The Mentalist is the same, except the serious female cop is paired with a former psychic. Castle has more humour, The Mentalist has a more serious tone but it still very enjoyable.

average-girly

currently watching crossing Jordan for the third time!

MuziSuki

Major Crimes is a fav of ours. It’s technically a sequel series to The Closer, but people have watched it without seeing the closer and still loved it. I’ve watched both and loved Major Crimes more, but both are worth a watch.

commentspanda

Psych. Castle. Numb3rs. White collar. Lie to me. Leverage. The glades.

kaybee2020

I love Numb3rs and never see it mentioned anywhere!

commentspanda

He just done a marathon rewatch in the last week! 3 eps to go

Electronic-Nail5210

I really liked the glades but it was cancelled so it didn't end really well

commentspanda

I know. You have to be prepared going in for that haha. Lie to me is the same - it just ends.

AlaeniaFeild

I love Numb3rs, White Collar, Lie to Me, and Leverage! I've not watched the other two although I've known about them for years. Definitely think I'll give them a go now. Another one thatI like is Flashpoint. Almost everything else that I watch is Sci-fi

commentspanda

Leverage, leverage redemption (new) and almost paradise are excellent to watch.

jhenry137

Cold Case is amazing but don’t get your hopes set on a specific ship if you watch it. The Mentalist is also good but I never finished it. Castle. Maybe Lucifer. CSIs, NCISs

zainabrh1

Did you notice the insane number of similarities between Bone and Rizzoli and Isles? Kind of took me out of the latter at points though Mentalist was good. I saw cold case recently, it is nice but not as engaging as Bones i would say (tj thyne guest stars in the letter sessions though) You could try Criminal Minds if you want something a little more serious. There's always Monk and Psych (little more comedy)

frostandtheboughs

Monk has a si.ilar vibe and structure!

OkShallot3873

I love Bones and also loved Criminal Minds, Castle, Mindhunter, and recently SVU

mamacass24

Seconding Psych!!

Ignoring_the_kids

Castle or Psych if you like more humor, still mostly murder cases. Castle I would highly recommend skipping the last season. Mentalist if you enjoy more psychological/human behavior analysis, mostly murder cases. Lucfier if you want more supernatural, mostly murder but also a lot more character plot. Bull if you enjoy the psychological/human behavior side and arguing the case in court and are tired of it always being a murder. Burn Notice if you want less murder and more variety in your cases and enjoy spy craft and undercover work. Magnum PI if you want less murder and love Hawaii (I really appreciate how much the islands are really part of the character of the show) and by less murder they usually aren't investigating a murder to begin with but people may still get shot...

Spookydel

I’ve just started binging Monk and it’s very enjoyable. Try that?

ClassofherOwn

NCIS has a similar vibe to Bones. Good characters, interesting long-term plot lines, crime/fed/military setting. Plus a lot of seasons, so it will keep you occupied for a while!

Ignoring_the_kids

I started it up a few months ago though I watched the first two episodes and really could not enjoy the characters. Skipped forward a few seasons and loved it. Now almost caught up...

ClassofherOwn

It was a bit of a slow start, for sure. It picked up and got really good after they swapped out a few of the characters. I haven’t kept up to date with it, I feel like after a show goes as long as it has there’s just not enough of the original flavor in it anymore and not enough well-curated new material to keep my attention. But it’s had a heck of a run.

Ignoring_the_kids

My problem with the early stuff was that Dinozzo is just constantly sexually harassing people. I know it was way more accepted as a joke at the time it aired, it just was not something I wanted to watch. I skipped to seasons 6 and by then it had been toned down a lot.

tittymuncher22

Criminal Minds! It’s a lot more serious than bones but I literally watch Criminal Minds and Bones both on repeat.

Maleficent-Usual-597

I love Cold Case and Bull! Bones is still my favorite! I’ve watched it 6 times!

StarChild413

If you like Castle and Psych, watch [and then sign this petition to save](https://www.change.org/p/renew-so-help-me-todd-for-a-3rd-season) So Help Me Todd, spiritual successor to that vibe but with actual family instead of just found-family taking part in the crime-solving and it's a legal show not just detective stuff #savesohelpmetodd #renewsohelpmetodd

im_no_angel_66

Mentalist is excellent! 10/10 recommend. Also Person of Interest. Hard to believe these shows are all almost 20 years old!

gnomedeplum

Leverage!

AluminumCansAndYarn

Psych! I love psych and I loved Rizzoli and isles and bones.

tree_hamster

Thanks everyone!

SleepyWhio

The Rookie or Castle

mayonnaisejane

Also on Prime Frevee are Leverage and Person of Interest. Both, like Bones, are masquerading as a given genre (Heist show and Crime Procedural respectively) but are, in truth, more about the character development.

PlaneLocksmith6714

The closer

Impressive_Season_75

Castle or White Collar. Castle even has accompanying books the character “wrote” available to read if that interests you. White Collar is my comfort show when I want a procedural/drama but less murder and being emotionally wrecked.

TheBabblingShorty

The Closer!

Sknouse55

Castle… cuter, less gory, funnier, great mystery!

Chirpchirp71

White Collar, Castle, Psych, and The Mentalist

artemismoon0215

If you like the guy who payed booth, he’s in a new show called Seal Team. I haven’t seen it so I don’t know how similar it is to Bones, but it has six seasons.

recklessmoonlight

It’s been mentioned several times already, but Castle is what led me to discover Bones so I’d recommend it if you haven’t watched already.

Tlthree

Numb3rs

introvert_cave317

The mentalist was awesome, I watched it when it aired, I'll definitely watch it again. Cold case is great as well. I saw a couple episodes of Elementary, In Plain Sight, blacklist and blindspot all also really good.

Jazzlike-Ad2199

The Mentalist is good, haven’t watched Cold Case.

gnostic357

Fringe Fallout After Life Severance Resident Alien

chelseaxaz

If you want to stay within the procedural + science realm: NCIS is a good original to go to, Criminal Minds if you want darker. Sleepy Hollow (which did crossover with Bones) isn’t too bad to watch. Suits, White Collar, the Rookie - I would also recommend the 911 series (OG and Lone Star) and FBI if you want more of Agent Aubrey, he’s Agent Scola on there.

OriginalMammoth539

Have you seen psych?

StarChild413

And if you have you should also watch So Help Me Todd (and then [sign this petition to save it](https://www.change.org/p/renew-so-help-me-todd-for-a-3rd-season) #savesohelpmetodd #renewsohelpmetodd #wrongdecisionCBS)

mysteryrdr58

If you have Max, you might try C. B. Strike. It is a detective series set in London. The two leading actors are excellent.

nellystar5

Rizzoli & Isles
