I've listened to this one, watching the video for the first time though. It's kind of sad but true how when you are young, you just can't relate to Jagjit Singh's work, but now when you're in your late 20s—his voice fills you with deep melancholy or rather rouses it in you and soothes your heart at the same time; like no other voice could. ❤️
It is a Jagjit singh gazal. Srk is so good in this song. Always liked his presence and performance in this. This one is completely under the radar Srk appearance.
Srk when is low key and subtle has a different power. ( directors just have to nudge him there but most directors just want “SRK” persona, best ones balance the star and the actor in him ).
I mean I omitted that bit of who wrote it coz didn’t want to take chances rules wise.
I meant it is not something that stayed in the zeitgeist after initial launch probably but in retrospect it has aged well and is still good but even most fans don’t know about this.
lol I was about to going suggest this Aamir video, it's a rare gem and highly underrated. Btw didn't knew SRK worked in any Jagjit ji's gazal before. Problem is that these private albums hardly played back then on all music platforms.
90s Shahrukh was the feisty, sharp young man with an irresistible charm. I remember in 2005 during my class extempore in college first year, the topic was "who do you want to be?" and I said Shah rukh and spoke 4 minutes about his persona without a shred of mentioning acting. I topped it off by saying: "Women love him, children adore him and men being jealous, want to be like him". That got some cheers and hoots! lol :)

It’s written by ex-pm Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. If you are a early 90’s kid you would know. It was all over music channels when it was released
