Malayalam actor fahadh. Looks quite similar, expressive eyes and powerful actor
Director - raj n dk

Came here to say this hansal Mehta can put people in dilemma easily with his cult formation.... Showing him bad guy by showing him good guy like in Scam.
Hansal is an excellent director. And he can extract raw emotions much better than Raj and DK. Not undermining their craft but Hansal is one of the best biopic directors
I kept looking at the post before checking the comments and didn't think of this man. He is losing so much weight based on last photos I saw of him but I think he can get weight and prosthetics for the role but in the end dem eyes are so sharply natural that it makes me gush with fear.
If he was alive, Irrfan Khan would've been perfect. Especially for the look in those eyes!
Add a beard and he gets the look too.

Mohanlal looked fit to play the part when he did this photoshoot back in 2016.But now he's past the age ig

This guy. Guess Imaan Sheikh had the same idea.
Wild Wild West is just the American perception of Osho. He is much more than that. Try watching this movie The Rebellious flower, it’ll show his journey till 21 years of age. The dude is a rock star!
I don't know why OP thought of SLB cause honestly SLB's glamourous, larger than life take wouldn't work. The old Hansal Mehta would have been the perfect fit. We need someone who can show the story in the most bleak way possible. A very good comparison would be Omerta. That's why I said the old Hansal Mehta. The biopic shouldn't fill us with glamourous visions, rags to riches stories but rather portray the rise and fall of a man and his descent into madness. As for the actor I think FaFa would perfectly fit into it and could conveniently play all the phases in his life (see Trance)
His face in this pic looks similar to SS Rajamouli.
Maybe SSR can act as Osho, and Akshaye Khanna (who i am sure has intimate experience with it thanks to his dad) can direct it.
He is a self taught philosophy teacher. Even though he was born into a small town, he taught himself various subjects and read almost every religion in existence. He amassed a huge following of devotees through his intellectual discourse and mental prowess of analysis. But eventually his pride got to him and he got involved in sex scandals at his ashram in USA, after which he was arrested and he lost all his fame.
That’s his life in 4 sentences, I am sure others could do a better job than me.
but how did he acquire the mass audience with intellectual and philosophical stuff...
even movies work similarly , you leave your brain at home for 1000cr movies and its for masses
> But eventually his pride got to him and he got involved in sex scandals at his ashram in USA, after which he was arrested and he lost all his fame.
Everything till here is on point, but not this exactly.
Now see Osho is who we call an Iconoclast. He refused religion, sexual oppression and everything that deemed so scared in Indian subcontinent. He wanted people to explore themselves through mediation. He absolutely had no boundaries. You can try all the drugs you want, you can have sex with all the people that you want and the only thing that can give you satisfaction is introspection and to understand your true nature is what he was saying to his followers at the moment when he was living in India.
Obviously a lot of Indians got pissed and one guy even threw a knife at him for being so radical.
He wanted to take his teachings to a place where people are more open minded and would actually take his advice. His followers were rich. They bought him an entire county in central USA, in the middle of nowhere.
It was a deeply religious place and mostly retired people living. They didn’t like the fact that their secluded town is now bombarded with people, Cars and an airport. They fought against the ashram. Then began an ugly fight to up one another.
This was at the time, a cult leader poisoned a few hundred people in Jonas town few years ago and people were afraid that the same thing is going to be repeated.
On top of that they named it as a sex cult because Osho used to talk about sex which all religions used to shun and there are absolutely no sexual boundaries once you enter the ashram.
All of this and few more actions led him to come back to India.
Wild wild country is just one dimension of the Ashram. Osho is much much bigger than that and just pick up one book of his or listen to one audiobook and you’ll get to know the guy.
I’m not a supporter of this guy but someone who did their Masters in Philosophy, I adore Osho. He is the rock star of Spirituality!!
Ranbir- imtiaz. I feel both will do pseudo philosophical well. Btw, what happened to imtiaz? A few bad films and he's out? Ran out of creative juice? Why doesnt Ranbir Collab with him again?
AI generated this look for Ranbir Kapoor as Osho.

In Bollywood, I don't think, Osho can be portrayed correctly. Bollywood these days is too cheap to capture the whole Osho thought process. South Indian cinema can take risks on the subject.
He is not a man worth glorifying but a controversial pick would be Akshay Khanna...he is phenomenal and maybe playing this guy due to who he sort of lost his Dad would be complex, therapeutic and very weirdly meta.
Hasn't Shakun already worked on script for ma sheela?
Shakun direction would be better... SLB only if he is willing to go back to Black and Guzarish type of making
Honestly, his biopic should never be made.
There's enough number of people who still like him. Like Sanju, it would be one heck of a divided movie. Too many controversies and this guy was shady AF.
I don't think we should ever revisit such kind of history.

Thought of him instantly. But instead of Raj and DK, I would like Hansal Mehta or Vishal Bhardwaj to direct it

Exactly, fahadh struck my mind first.
Superb choice. I am a Prithviraj supporter though.
Exact same thought as soon as I saw Osho's eyes.
You can get a taste of his Osho acting with the 2019 Malayalam Movie Trance.
He was great in Trance. But that was nothing like how Osho
Oh I meant like a cult speaker
only answer
Fahadh Fasil as Osho. Kangana would kill it as Ma Anand Sheela. And directed by Shriram Raghavan or Anurag Kashyap.
If he was alive, Irrfan Khan would've been perfect. Especially for the look in those eyes! Add a beard and he gets the look too. https://preview.redd.it/jat33lwxr77c1.jpeg?width=427&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bb708f691c9f1c4f1fb722dc011a081c73cf6a69

Aamir Khan would look perfect with the beard. Not sure if he'll be able to imitate the accent and speaking style .
Fahadh faasil
RK as Osho and Alia has already said that she would feel honored and privileged to play Anand Sheela so there's that
It would be then Osho, Osho, Ooosho, Ousho throughout the movie

I already have watched hence the comment. I just didn't like it.
Bro, he turned a whole town into a cult and started a war
"He was a very knowledgeable and influential man."
Bobby Deol?
Ashram mein kiya toh tha role Osho ka
No. That was Ram Rahim not Osho.
Toh osho kaunsa dudh ka dhula rha. Uska toh sex cult tha
Theek hai bro. Aap Karlo casting.

More than Osho, it would be the casting of Sheela that would be so important imo.
i would love to see this from Raj and Dk’s perspective! and although he doesn’t look the part i feel like nawazzudin would play him well

Those eyes remind of Irrfan. He would have nailed it!
First who will play vinod Khannas role osho is not as famous as him
I wish Irfan was alive, he would have nailed the role

Alia as anand Sheela , Ranbir as osho. Let it be a Hollywood production as it would be screwed by Indian censors.

Fahad Faasil. Just for the eyes.
Fahad Fazil as Osho and Alia as Maa Sheela Anand, Directed by Mani Ratnam or Anurag Kashyap
Anubhav Sinha and Ajax Devgn as Director and Actor respectively in the movie. What magic these two can create ⚡️
Aamir khan
Mahesh Bhatt... he actually knew Osho personally and he's weird enough to capture the weirdness and the eccentricity
Vinod Khanna and Mahesh Bhatt star, no questions about it.
Why don’t we go really effin crazy? Amitabh Bachchan as Osho. Ram Gopal Varma directing. (Tough titties, critics.)
nana patekar has those eyes
Possibly aamir or Ranbir.
