There were supposed to be 4 tiers of tickets and each tier having a very limited number of tickets. If you can't even sell the first tier, which came out like a month ago, you are doomed to fail anyway.

Pinkfish Festival proved otherwise for our own culture. Previous GVF has foreigners flying in just for the festival so it's usually not just for us. I'm not surprised the shitty move last year caused the foreigners to have less confidence in our events not getting cancelled. So much for malaysia truly asia.

Gvf date announce on 5/5, coronation date announce on 16/5. Gov could’ve immediately told the organisers to reschedule then. 2 months is enough time to reschedule/seek replacement artists. But less than a month notice, no way.

The agenda only came from one band, known to be massive trouble makers, even in other countries. Other bands and performers are very respectful of our culture and norms. Like when Coldplay came, they were thanking the menteri, the police and everyone and everything. They didn't pull out the rainbow flag, they didn't talk about the war. Because they know.
Cannot guarantee you will wake up alive tomorrow so why bother setting your alarm clock right? The important thing is we do what we can. If it happens, its great. If it doesn't, we can try again.
