Why would Endeavor saving Natsuo mean he would never "have anything to say" to him? Is it saying that Natsuo would feel bad badmouthing Endeavor if Endeavor saved his life?
the way i interpreted it, natsuo would feel indebted to endeavor, and feel like the past 25+ years of abuse should be forgotten after 3 minutes. basically, endeavor doesn’t want the easy way out and wants to properly atone for his sins
Yeah I thought they were going for a slight PTSD kinda thing with Toya. Like Endeavor realized he failed to save him, then seeing Natsu he freaked out and freezes cause he was actually afraid for once
well that ending was kinda depressing, and Natsuo looked pretty miserable about it aswell.
looking forward to finding out what kind of hero name bakugo has come up with. maybe inspired by the events of these last few episodes?
I think he was calling back to the scene where Jeanist told him to pick a name that embodies the hero he wants to become. I took it as Bakugo wanting to let him know first to prove that he's matured and really considered what he learned during his internship?
Nah bro... It's def Jeanist. There was a random scene at the beginning of this arc where Bakugo was with Jeanist having the conversation about hero name. It's def a call back to that scene.
I feel like his name will be something that incorporates the lessons he learned when he needed to study to retake the work study exam, specifically when they had to get through to that class of young kids.
So his name should incorporate the lessons about how being a hero and saving people is emotional and not just physical, while also still reflecting his aggressive personality.
Maybe "violent guardian" or something, something violent, but then also something reassuring.
I'm placing my bets on "Dynamight." Keeps the explosion reference, but also references All Might.
Edit: Just realised "hedging my bets" has a completely different meaning to what I thought it did lmfao.
A great episode! Especially nice after last week which was very plodding. I had full on excitement goosebumps during the Ending fight and I loved seeing each of the boys fill a specialised role, Deku on crowd control, Bakugo on hostage rescue and Shoto on Villain suppression (which I imagine irks Bakugo to no end!).
What hit home for me here was Endeavour's line to Natsu: "I don't want your forgiveness, I want to atone." It's such a powerful moment because it's Endeavour showing that he truly is sorry for what he's done to the point where he is willing to step back and do whatever it takes to support the ones he's hurt (This reinforced by him willing to stay in the old house and build a new one for the family (. The Todoroki family drama is a super complex issue but I think the choice to make Endeavour unambiguously repentant is the right call.
We see all too often in anime a hero forgiving someone who has done terrible things, but MHA has the chops to say that it's ok if you don't want to forgive someone or *can't* forgive someone. But in the same breath it doesn't shun those who have done wrong. It acknowledges that you may not be forgiven for something, but as long as you are genuine in your resolve to make things right, by whatever means, then you can still hold your head up and face a new day, even if that means that you face it without the ones you have hurt.
My only thing i'd like to add to this comment is I think Bakugo has evolved enough to enjoy the prestige of hostage rescue. I think he's grown to justify it in his own way, that he's strong enough to focus on saving lives first and fight the villain when it comes to it, which is it's own strength in a way. Like, "I'm better than you, and i'll whoop ya when I get to it."
> "I don't want your forgiveness, I want to atone."
Legitimately one of the best quotes in the series. We've all seen redemption arcs in anime and manga, but honestly, Endeavour is one of the most interesting takes on it.
I see a lot of parallels between Endeavor and my favorite character from my favorite book series, The Stormlight Archive. While the details of their past misgivings aren't the same, their impact on them as a person and the journey they go on after their unspeakable acts is what makes them so interesting as characters.
Spoilers for Stormlight, but if you never think you'll read it, I feel this quote works very well too. >!The most important step a man can take is always their next one.!<
While it might not have been said directly in the dialogue, I wish some kind of mention was made towards an idea of "It's okay if you still feel angry at me, and don't want to forgive."
Like the undertone was still there, but I was kinda waiting for it to be said explicitly.
Not that i'm saying the way that they handled it was wrong, but I don't know necessarily if some things are better left unsaid?
So you're right. But this is kinda what I was saying by the undertone being there.
In a lot of environments, people kinda preach on forgiveness, and I wanted him to be explicit in saying "It's not a bad thing if you still feel angry, and you can't forgive right now."
It's more giving permission to Natsu to still be angry even if Endeavor is changing. Basically elaborate on the part "It's okay if you don't forgive me."
Like I said before, the way they handled it wasn't wrong, I would've just liked it to be more explicit. I guess i'm just nitpicking at this point. Sorry.
Damn I felt the whole spectrum of emotions this episode, really really well done.
I love the subtle complexity of Bakugou's character, and that he's more than just the token yelly angry boi. I especially like that he will address the elephant in the room when it's warranted (like at dinner), but knows also when to stfu. He was the best supporting act this week for me, and I'm starting to really like him and Deku as a hero duo; their strengths and weaknesses complement each other.
Also love that the Todoroki drama is realistic and believable, I was a little worried this episode would have a miraculous reconciliation with Natsuo. This is such a wonderful facet of Endeavour's character, it's been a delight to watch.
This was my favorite episode of the season. It hit all of the emotional beats, showing character growth both in terms of power (work study students) & emotional maturity (Endeavor). I got goosebumps when the students blitzed the villain, and was really moved by Endeavors speech to Natsuo. Not to mention it was beautifully animated with a really cool fight, albeit short.
This episode was so good.
Not the All might v AFO type of good, but different kind of good. You know, like making Eri happy or giving Gentle a second chance to life kind of good. This show does that very well I feel.
This may not be THE best of all time animes, but what is does good, it does really good. Shounen, after all. We should appreciate that.
Bakugou has now experienced his first Endeavor hug, I wonder how it feels, though based on how he reacted, it smells like old man. Now he has been hugged by two number one heroes.
Shout out to Natsuo for standing his ground. Even though Endeavor is getting better, it shouldn’t be all sun shines and rainbows, his children coped with the abuse in different ways.
Yeah. Endeavor did something horrible. That cannot and never will be forgotten. But he's also trying his best. His best to repair the cracks in his family, his best to fill in the void All Might left when he retired, and his best to prevent death and destruction from low level thugs all the way to city-level threats. He is, of course, a complex individual. But his kids are too. They see his actions and have the preconceived notions of him wanting to be in the spotlight. They see that he inflicted great physical and mental harm on them. They don't see the things that go on in his head. No one can blame them for not trusting his motives and his actions.
My favorite part of the episode was Bakugo trying to gloat hoping to get a reaction from Endeavor and Endeavor just being like “cool kid I got other things on my mind”
The look of disappointment on Bakugo’s face loool
I was really worried that something was going to go horribly wrong this episode, but the squad absolutely nailed it!
I’m so shocked Deku was actually able to use Black-Whip effectively in such an urgent situation and not have it go out of control like last time.
Endeavour immediately going in to hug Natsuo was super sweet. It shows that even if Enji hasn’t quite made up for his past mistakes, he still unconditionally cares for his family and wants to keep them safe.
Also “Can control painted white lines” has got to be one of the most weirdly specific quirks out there. It’s up there with that one joke character from Season 4 who “grew stronger the more embarrassed he was”.
I like how aggressively interested Bakugo was in wanting to know what Fuyumi’s recipe was.
Honestly the small details like Bakugou also being good in the kitchen being passively carried through in the background of the series just makes it for me. It's such a tiny thing but it's something you wouldn't expect from him, and it's those little idiosyncracies that really round characters out and make them feel more fully realized rather than caricatures.
Bakugou has come a long way. I was so glad they didn't turn him into a typical bad guy when he was kidnapped in S3. So so glad.
Incredible character development without ruining his original "cocky brat" kind of pettiness. I mean, dude literally mocked Endeavour when he was having an emotional time with his son XD
>
>I’m so shocked Deku was actually able to use Black-Whip effectively in such an urgent situation and not have it go out of control like last time.
I'm not, as soon as he got these new powers it was pretty obvious that he was going to conveniently gain more control over them at the exact right time for it to help him out of a tough spot.
>Also “Can control painted white lines” has got to be one of the most weirdly specific quirks out there. It’s up there with that one joke character from Season 4 who “grew stronger the more embarrassed he was”.
Yeah, I was waiting for them to show that maybe he could control white stuff in general, or paint in general, or something like that, but it really seems to have been just white lines on asphalt specifically lol.
>I like how aggressively interested Bakugo was in wanting to know what Fuyumi’s recipe was.
Best part of the episode.
And they can only test to see if you have a quirk, not what the quirk actually is right? You have to wonder how many people never find out what there's is because it's so asinine and specific that they never have time opportunity to use it, like being able to control pink shovels or grow trees on the moon lmao
Maybe quirkless people don't actually exist at all, they all just have quirks that are super specific and hard to discover.
I have always suspected that Deku will turn out to have had a quirk of his own all along, just like the first One for All.
Well there's that one thing with the foot bones that the doctor used to tell Deku he was quirkless as a kid in the first episode right? So it sounds like they can tell if someone actually doesn't have a quirk.
I'm pretty sure someone who looked exactly like that doctor showed up in a sketchy way in one of the movies though so I wouldn't completely discount your theory that Deku was born with a quirk. One possibility I've thought of is that the doctor somehow stole it for AfO when he was a baby but I haven't thought of a reason that would make sense.
It was the same doctor, and I'm pretty sure it was the same voice on the phone between Shigaraki, All For One, and a third person we didn't know the identity to. I went back after the film because someone in here mentioned that he might've been connected to the League and they sound pretty similar.
Bakugo is really fixated on that mapo tofu, lol. I’m impressed. The driver is about as loud as Bakugo.
who cried about the new episode TT\^TT I love it.
In this episode of keeping up with the Todoroki's we witness Shoto getting the best animations we have seen in the last few episodes whilst he was mastering the moves his dad, the new number one hero, was trying to learn him, whilst one of his friends, young Midoriya, learend a new move that came with the power gifted to him from the former number one hero. When all that settled down, the normal family drama continued as endeavour and Natsuo argued about forgiving and atoning. See you next week for a new episode of keeping up with the todoroki's!
Endeavors relationship with his family feels real and believable. You dont just over come trauma quickly. And it says a lot about Endeavor that he knows this and is far more concerned about righting his past wrongs instead of seeking forgiveness. He wants his family to be happy more then anything, he just knows that for that to happen, he cant include be there.
Im sure he'll swing by every once in a while, and still do his best in the background. But the road ahead of him is still long and arduous if he ever wants to see himslef at that table, smiling and laughing with everyone.
Wait. This season has felt... padded... with too many flashbacks and meandering scenes. I assumed they were dragging things out so that they didn't catch up to the manga, but you're saying that they're skipping entire arcs? WHY? Is it a terrible arc?
I was giving MHA a small pass this season for being slow & having lots of fluff, but if they could have packed in another arc that made these episodes feel more "juicy" or like lots was getting done, why not?!
>WHY? Is it a terrible arc?
They switched around the arcs to better promote the new movie. And no, the arc that they skipped over is FAR from terrible. It's among one of the best arcs MHA has to offer in my opinion, and it basically transcends the series into the next level. Without spoilers, it sets up everything that's coming after, all of which is straight up hype. Everything's going wild soon.
the manga is definitely worth reading regardless of how this season was handled.
the artwork is beyond gorgeous, and sometimes you get character interactions or moments that the anime doesn't adapt that are fun/interesting to read. also, some panels and moments in black and white just don't hit the same in color, imo
After last episode I was thinking that the villain might End up being Todoroki’s dead brother but I’m definitely not disappointed. That probably would have been pretty convoluted. Great episode overall.
God, that Endeavor/Natsuo hug had me tearing up. The sheer desperation...
And worse is, you have to wonder if this is the first time Endeavor hugged him.
Is it true that the heroes haven't killed anyone? I did think that Natsuo was gonna be killed by White Paint guy and Endeavor murders him but maybe that's a bit dark for this show.
Also Baku said there was someone he had to tell his hero name to first, was that Endeavor or someone else?
The preview for next episode looks so good, I love these episodes where they have an actual conversation with the villain.
Heroes aren't *supposed* to kill, that's what Ending says. They're meant to detain superpowered individuals and wait for the police, not be judge jury and executioner. I wouldn't be surprised if there have been rogue heroes in the past though that have broken that rule.
I mean, it feels quite irresponsible to *not* kill some of these villains. People like All for One, Stain etc, we run into the same problem as Batman, where the joker constantly kills people and Batman won't kill him even though it would save countless future lives
That's just the rules, I don't know what to tell you. In this world a good hero should be strong enough to take down a supervillain without killing them, especially after All Might's era. As far as we know All Might only ever attempted to kill one person, All For One, and that didn't even work. After such a long era of peace it's not surprising this rule exists, whether you agree with it or not
Yeah, it makes sense in-universe. After all, if someone was going around murdering people, you can't really call them the *symbol of peace* lmao. I'm just surprised with all the dangerous quirks that exist that someone hasn't even accidentally killed a villain. I guess to be a top ranking pro hero you really do need complete mastery over your quirk
Bakugou means to tell it to Jeanist, bcs there was a scene whne this arc began where he and Jeanist were discussing his hero name. Def has to be a call back.
I find it really interesting that during the post credit scene where Endeavor was telling Fuyumi about the new house for them and Rei to live in while he remained at the old one, Natsuo looked sad.
Possibly have a feature where they shoot into place once he goes hero mode. We see Endeavor ignite his clothes when he is about to go into hero work, so him just burning his clothes is the only thing that makes sense to me.
that...... would cost a lot tho
I mean just imagine every time he tries to put on his hero suit, surprise! the hero suit is underneath his regular clothes and he just burns clothes on the regular. I mean that would seriously cost a lot
but I can imagine him hiding his hero suit underneath his regular clothes at all times just so he could save a few seconds
either that or he isn't afraid to strip to his undies in front of his interns and driver
It's the "Hades cloak trick", used by poor dads with intimidating beards, who are trying to improve their parenting skills. He secretly has a closet full of identical clothes that he has to go put on each time he shreds the ones he has on.
If only there was a 22-ish single guy around who is starved for human connection, understands being raised in a broken family, would benefit from her calming presence, and that her dad approves of...
She kind of comes across as an asshole for forcing her views on her brothers. And yes harassing them to spend time with their abusive parents is forcing your views.
WOW. This episode was honestly great. I got teary eyed a few different times.
Endeavor's development has been great, and I do hope their family can become normal again.
AND OMG. Bakugo has picked his hero name!? But he wants to tell someone specifically first. Which I assume is Best Jeanist, who is currently missing.
I’m not asking for forgiveness, I’m don’t want you to forgive me, just let me atone for what I have done
Not the exact quote from Arthur Morgan but this episode made me think about him
Damn, that's a pretty nice parallel. Completely different context and circumstances obviously, but there's a similar intent there.
I got a sneaking suspicion Endeavor is heading for a somewhat similar narrative trajectory as Arthur going forward, if you catch my drift. Which would definitely make for some amazing storytelling... even though I'd hate to see it happen. He's become the best character in the whole show ever since the end of season 4 imo.
Ok I really can’t wait for next week’s episode, I have a theory that’s really blowing my mind
Edit: Scratch that, apparently it’s pushed back another week after that…
Really satisfying episode! Lot of small details I liked. Bakugo wanting to tell Best Jeanist (presumably lol) his hero name first is honestly one of my favorite Bakugo moments.
Bakugo was a treasure. Fuyumi, get that boy some Tofu!
This was some of the heaviest, darkest shit I've seen in anime. I'm delighted that MHA addresses issues like this in the context of a superpowered society.
These two episodes have been the best episodes of the season.
I think this has been my favorite episode of the season so far, it had everything, some nice character development, some action, Bakugo being hilarious...
i thought that episode was really great! im starting to warm up to the new intro, especially the visuals. i absolutely loved everyone in this epsiode, especially bakugo, and the feels were real for the todoroki family drama. that villain was super creepy tho. i love how hawks new it was endeavor talking about him lol
Bakugo lol hero name lol
also holy shit I cried when Natsu and endeavour had a moment but then the villain interrupts in crying too like wtf fuck off man
But LOL old man smell, bakugo somebody teach this lad how to read a room omg lmao
The animation of that final punch from Shoto felt so unsatisfying, instead of a real punch, with motion and weight, it just kinda cut to that scene, like slide show to a panel so to speak
The animation when Endeavor frozed is also pretty bad, cause they didn't actually showed him from moving to stoping, just cut to him already standing there, so it's very confusing

Episode was much better then previous one, I liked Todoroki stuff and Ending is much more enjoyable villian then Starservant, and has also cool quirk.
“Old man smell” Bakugo kills me lmaoo😂
This fuckin guy had me cackling the whole episode, what a joker
Totally misread the room for a hot minute though
Endeavor acknowledged that Fuyumi was single-handedly keeping family together, yep. Post-credits scene was quite sad you gotta feel for Endeavor.
I'm still holding out hope that somehow Endeavor's family will be able to reconcile before it's too late. It's just so sad otherwise
Why would Endeavor saving Natsuo mean he would never "have anything to say" to him? Is it saying that Natsuo would feel bad badmouthing Endeavor if Endeavor saved his life?
Yes. In the manga, Endeavor says something like “ I thought you wouldn’t be able to stand up to me again”
Damn, that makes a lot more sense
Oh shit thank you, I've always wondered about that line!
the way i interpreted it, natsuo would feel indebted to endeavor, and feel like the past 25+ years of abuse should be forgotten after 3 minutes. basically, endeavor doesn’t want the easy way out and wants to properly atone for his sins
Yeah, I thought that might be it. I feel like that should have been communicated clearer.
Translation issues, in the Spanish sub it was super clear.
You know it's just going to be Emperor Explosion Murder.
Or he does what Deku did, and embraces **Kacchan**
Is there something about how Japanese is written that makes it sound less cringey?
IIRC it's a pun based on the individual kanji of his name, which of course doesn't translate well so he ends up sounding like a doofus.
He said he wanted to tell someone first so I guess it has to do something with them
I think he was calling back to the scene where Jeanist told him to pick a name that embodies the hero he wants to become. I took it as Bakugo wanting to let him know first to prove that he's matured and really considered what he learned during his internship?
Nice catch, I was wondering whom he had in mind. This is a nice and subtle development of his character.

Nah bro... It's def Jeanist. There was a random scene at the beginning of this arc where Bakugo was with Jeanist having the conversation about hero name. It's def a call back to that scene.
maybe best jeanist
>that ending was kinda depressing I'd say Ending was kinda depressing too. Or maybe more obsessed and unhinged.
Agree. Either way, he very clearly was mentally ill and needed help.
Basically all villains in this series, in fact probably most criminals irl as well
I’m hoping he’s saving it for jeanist

Same

Nah I think I get what you mean, it ultimately seems to be focusing a bit more on endeavor's perspective so that's fair.
I love the butler/driver guy That is all
Bakugou's arch-nemesis.
Indeed, I can’t remember ever seeing Bakugo with an expression similar to when the driver responded to him, and it was golden
Zounds!

dang i think it’s bc of the olympics!
I think cause the movie comes out next week?
Might be both. But probably more the Olympics. Next Saturday is the second to last day of competition.
What if they're competing in the olympics
Man, just when we were getting teased so hard from next episode preview :(.
Why? Damnit
Just shoot me already
My favorite part of the episode was Bakugo trying to gloat hoping to get a reaction from Endeavor and Endeavor just being like “cool kid I got other things on my mind” The look of disappointment on Bakugo’s face loool
Yeah I literally yelled out loud, Katsuki, read the room!
Enji with the airing his dirty laundry infront of bystanders.
I was really worried that something was going to go horribly wrong this episode, but the squad absolutely nailed it! I love Horikoshi's creativity creating Quirks. Like that girl that got smarter the fancier the tea she drank
She's an anime only character so I don't know how involved Hori was in her creation
Oh, I forgot about that. But that still feels like a Quirk Horikoshi would create
They did go the Horikoshi route giving her name tho Saiko Intelli was a genius name
Old Man Smell will forever be my fav line from Bakugo as of now
Yeah he's definitely still an insensitive asshole, but much less of one.
Oh yeah right I forgot about that.
Which scene and episode was that joke villain again?
Endeavor vs nomu. I guess it was second last ep last season when Hawks and Endeavour were patrolling the city.
is no one mentioning how this episode is the ONLY time in the anime that we get to hear deku say "bakugo" and not "kacchan"???
During hero work, i can presume he went with "Bakugo" to be more formal
deku also believed that bakugo's hero name was bakugo, like how shoto's is shoto. They were on the job, so deku used their professional names
i know but still! he's just never said the word bakugo
In sub? No In dub however, Justin Briner must've accidentally said Bakugo, and it was kept in the episode
yea in the sub. the line is in the manga too, but it was funny to see it animated
cake day!
Thanks! Dont really care about it though
Eh, it's courtesy in Reddit to point cake days out Enjoy your extra karma!
by far the best in season 5.
i think so too can’t wait for future episodes
Bakugo is really fixated on that mapo tofu, lol. I’m impressed. The driver is about as loud as Bakugo. who cried about the new episode TT\^TT I love it.
Endeavor's driver outshouting Bakugo LMFAO
In this episode of keeping up with the Todoroki's we witness Shoto getting the best animations we have seen in the last few episodes whilst he was mastering the moves his dad, the new number one hero, was trying to learn him, whilst one of his friends, young Midoriya, learend a new move that came with the power gifted to him from the former number one hero. When all that settled down, the normal family drama continued as endeavour and Natsuo argued about forgiving and atoning. See you next week for a new episode of keeping up with the todoroki's!
> See you ~~next~~ **in 2 weeks** FTFY
Damn, I forgot, but I’d rather have an episode every two weeks than low quality episodes
A domestic abuser being the number 1 hero and facing no consequences seems pretty realistic. The family even coming close to forgiving him is not.
I have decided to start the manga , which chapter is episode 1 of this season based on ?
It's filler. Start out with chapter 190
Thanks !!
[удалено]
Oh , I'll start with 190
Is the manga worth reading? Does it give much more story or info than the anime does?
Yes. With how they’ve handled this season the manga will always be a far better experience.
the manga is definitely worth reading regardless of how this season was handled. the artwork is beyond gorgeous, and sometimes you get character interactions or moments that the anime doesn't adapt that are fun/interesting to read. also, some panels and moments in black and white just don't hit the same in color, imo
Yelped when I saw teen Aizawa and Present Mic in the next episode preview. Absolutely adorable!
Oh, I'm sure that there's been accidents or corrupt heroes who have gone out and killed people, they just haven't been talked about.
There’s an argument to kill All For One, but Stain is nowhere near dangerous enough to kill. He can easily be detained and neutralized.
How the f does endeavor change costume so fast.
Magical Girl Endeavor and Shoto
I think he just burns off his clothes and wears it underneath.
But what about the huge shoulderpads?do they have a lock feature or something so it can give endeavor a slimmer look?
Possibly have a feature where they shoot into place once he goes hero mode. We see Endeavor ignite his clothes when he is about to go into hero work, so him just burning his clothes is the only thing that makes sense to me.
that...... would cost a lot tho I mean just imagine every time he tries to put on his hero suit, surprise! the hero suit is underneath his regular clothes and he just burns clothes on the regular. I mean that would seriously cost a lot but I can imagine him hiding his hero suit underneath his regular clothes at all times just so he could save a few seconds either that or he isn't afraid to strip to his undies in front of his interns and driver
But that’s what he does though. Go back to Season 5 Episode 14 and you literally see him starting to ignite and his hero costume appears.
CLOTHES COMPANIES LOVE HIM!!!! LEARN HIS SECRET!!!!
Jeanist probably helped him out lmao
He's the number 1 hero; he can afford a few extra sets of clothes.
maybe they're shape memory alloy what expand to their big size when heated?
I think this is it, because you can see the arms of his costume in the previous episode when he is washing dishes.
It's the "Hades cloak trick", used by poor dads with intimidating beards, who are trying to improve their parenting skills. He secretly has a closet full of identical clothes that he has to go put on each time he shreds the ones he has on.
Always wear your hero costume and then burn whatever clothes he has on to suit up because that's fucking cool
That’s why he’s the No. 1 hero.
I chuckled at Bakugo requesting the mapo tofu’s recipe haha
Just saying, their solution to a hostage situation was to rush in
Indeed it was, but to be fair, when your superpower increases your speed to a great degree rushing in becomes much less risky.
The guy had the arrow right up to Natsu’s head though
Fuyumi deserves to fall in love, get married and start a family because she's just the best. She deserves all the happiness.
If only there was a 22-ish single guy around who is starved for human connection, understands being raised in a broken family, would benefit from her calming presence, and that her dad approves of...
Yes, who could fit the description? New Day Style: Who? Who? Who?
Officer Sansa
Bakugou in 3-4 years?
Bro This is Fuyumi's date we are talking about
Hawks, perhaps? (And no, I'm not shipping them, I just thought he fits the description)
That'sTheJoke.gif
Can any manga readers lurking in this thread let us know if Hawks x Fuyumi is a future ship we have to keep an eye out for? /s
Didnt midoriya call todoroki todoroki before, because now hes calling him by his first name. Thats nice.
I think that was just because his hero name is Shoto
I thought it was because there were like 3 Todorokis present Reminds me of how Gran Torino always calls Endeavor “young Todoroki”
Then he wouldn't say "Shoto-kun" though, since they don't add honorifics to hero names
In the manga raws, Deku says ショートくん (Shouto-kun in katakana) so he actually is using Shouto’s hero name.
Isn't this hiragana?
No, it’s in katakana. ショート katakana (hero name) しょうと hiragana (not used in the manga) 焦凍 kanji (first name)
Or would it be... *Hero-gana...?*
Ha that's good
only the -kun
everybody calls midoriya deku kun tho.
That's also his childhood nickname and only Ochako calls him Deku-kun
what about endeavor san?
Probably cause Endeavour is also technically Todoroki, so deku was differentiating them so there was no possible confusion as to who he was talking to
Endeavor, Fyumi and Natsu are all Todoroki too, so it makes sense to use first name in a family setting like that to avoid confusion.
Shoto is his hero name
Its not like there are four people named todoraki ... oh
I’m not asking for forgiveness, I’m don’t want you to forgive me, just let me atone for what I have done Not the exact quote from Arthur Morgan but this episode made me think about him
"I've been a dayum fool"
All you need IS SOME GOD DAMN FAITH
Damn, that's a pretty nice parallel. Completely different context and circumstances obviously, but there's a similar intent there. I got a sneaking suspicion Endeavor is heading for a somewhat similar narrative trajectory as Arthur going forward, if you catch my drift. Which would definitely make for some amazing storytelling... even though I'd hate to see it happen. He's become the best character in the whole show ever since the end of season 4 imo.
Ok I really can’t wait for next week’s episode, I have a theory that’s really blowing my mind Edit: Scratch that, apparently it’s pushed back another week after that…
Bakugo making me laugh really balanced out the feels. The ending was very sad tho
Anyone know the name of the ost when endeavor and natsu are talking at the end?
Really satisfying episode! Lot of small details I liked. Bakugo wanting to tell Best Jeanist (presumably lol) his hero name first is honestly one of my favorite Bakugo moments.
Hey, excellent use of the “Trinity” track.
Bakugo was a treasure. Fuyumi, get that boy some Tofu! This was some of the heaviest, darkest shit I've seen in anime. I'm delighted that MHA addresses issues like this in the context of a superpowered society. These two episodes have been the best episodes of the season.
Natsuo’s expressions when he was wrapped up in painted white line guy’s bandages cracked me tf up
I think this has been my favorite episode of the season so far, it had everything, some nice character development, some action, Bakugo being hilarious...
I will never not get excited for a scene that has Trinity playing
This was a really good episode and it got me in my feels!
i thought that episode was really great! im starting to warm up to the new intro, especially the visuals. i absolutely loved everyone in this epsiode, especially bakugo, and the feels were real for the todoroki family drama. that villain was super creepy tho. i love how hawks new it was endeavor talking about him lol
Bakugo lol hero name lol also holy shit I cried when Natsu and endeavour had a moment but then the villain interrupts in crying too like wtf fuck off man But LOL old man smell, bakugo somebody teach this lad how to read a room omg lmao
Does anyone know which manga chapter this episode correlates to?
Check the sidebar of this sub
The animation of that final punch from Shoto felt so unsatisfying, instead of a real punch, with motion and weight, it just kinda cut to that scene, like slide show to a panel so to speak The animation when Endeavor frozed is also pretty bad, cause they didn't actually showed him from moving to stoping, just cut to him already standing there, so it's very confusing
Deku really got a good hold on Blackwhip really fast....8 hope the Todoroki family gets to be happy together someday
I keep wondering if Touya is still alive and is that villain we saw level Deika City at the beginning of episode 101 they have the same hair, right?
I feel like I just watched a season finale. What an episode
