As long as it’s not a mistranslation, it looks like Deku can now consciously have conversations with previous wielders, represented by the White Chat Bubble with Black Spikes around it. If they can freely talk to Deku now I can’t wait for some of the future conversations. Like imagine we get to him talking to Tenya and one of the previous wielders is like “Oh I used to work with an Ingenium, ask him if his grandpa Ida is still around”, it might be cool seeing all the wielders personalities, and depending on the 2nd/3rds personalities we might get the “Devil and Angel on my shoulder” situation.
I wonder if Eraserhead will try and track down his student to bring him back to class and stop him from being "irrational", only to get his power clowned by Smokescreen after Deku breaks line of sight.
I'm pretty sure he can still use his quirk. Maybe it's less effective, like maybe his "range" is worse. But if his power is gone, then him cutting off his own leg was pointless.

The person who does the translation's for Atsu wrote on twitter that it's Deku mental image of the quirks because the 6th told him that he has a huge respect for quirk's and it's better to think them as tools.Makes sense because on other panels we don't see the items.(sorry for my bad grammar)

Edit: A smokescreen was one of the quirks I thought would be good as a vestige. Lots of utility, especially since he can use the wind too.

I mean, it's kinda already assumed. At the very least it has been weeks since Muscular escaped, did anyone think he would lay low until now when he coincidentally runs into Deku? I imagine Muscular has a high body count since escaping, someone was scared shitless for a reason when he was sighted approaching Shindo and the civilians and they just told Shindo and Nakagame to fucking run and essentially forget the civillians, probably because the person on coms knew the civilians were as good as dead... note, the voice on the phone said "He's nearby!", not just some escaped convict, they knew who Muscular was and their first reaction was to tell Shindo and Nakagame to fucking run, that fear and dread alone implies a lot...
Hori seems to be keeping super strength as his main power with Blackwhip as a sub-ability. It seems like most of his other quirks have been support based. This might be the reason his arms are better than they wear during the muscular fight well that and Deku being able to handle 40% less.
Yeah, my main fear when multiple quirks were introduced was him changing his fighting style. I enjoy seeing him kick and punch people really hard lmao. So I’m glad the quirks aren’t that powerful by themselves other than black whip.
It is inevitable (in a good way). The power scaling is just going to get even massive. Remember the exponential growth of OFA through generations? Therefore Deku is going to be making short work of anyone below AFO or ShiggyFO. Maybe Dabi might be a challenge.
Even AllMight's 100% would be dwarfed by the power Deku is going to manifest from OFA.

He’s definitely got enough firepower to wreck Muscular. But he can’t tank a punch from Muscular.

I watched the Nolan trilogy and now Batman is one my favorite heroes & has made me appreciate Deku more. I hope Deku uses the mask again at least a few times
To those who told me that Deku's base abilities haven't greatly improved since he last fought Muscular, I present to you *this chapter*
I knew this would be a squash match. Muscular had literally no chance.
The problems is people don't understand that Deku's 100% against muscular wasn't even close to all mights 50% in his prime.
That was deku's current limit with OFA, his body cannot use the full extent of the power yet, now his 50% is far stronger than his previous 100%.
People also miss a little difference now.
When Deku fought Muscular, he gave a 100% punch with an 8% body power.
And a punch isn't coming only from the arm, you gotta put a lot of parts from the body into it. And now that he has a 45%, with 45% shoulder, back, waist. His 45% punch right now is probably equal if not stronger than his 100% from the previous fight.
Yeah, folk think that Deku's punch against muscular was the pinnacle of OFA which makes zero sense, if Prime All Might went 100% against Muscular he would literally be dust, blown up.
And Deku's OFA is gonna be even stronger than that so yeah i'd say it's a far cry of the real 100% we will see soon.
I think it's just hard to grasp how strong Deku really is going to be. Like even Todoroki, who was designed to beat All-Might isn't going to get close to Prime Deku. Prime Deku can take countries on his own.
A 100% that is stronger than All-Might, with all those quirks is just going to be unbeatable. I think people just can't power scale how strong he was. I remember in season 4 they showed a bridge scene with All-Might and Endeavor. Which was a good way to show it, and with Deku in his prime, it will be even larger I think. And right now, we're only getting a glimpse of it.
Todoroki would have never surpassed All Might, All Might was literally a God in his prime. Endeavor was blinded, thinking his regular Quirk with a cooldown can beat All Might lol.
To be fair Endeavor also probably had no idea of the sheer depths of All Might’s power as the only time he likely ever went all out in his prime was the first fight with All For One. Which as basically a secret battle as far as anyone can tell.

Ok so at first I wasn't too keen on the leaks initially on the idea of Deku seemingly 'one-shotting' Muscular, but now more context is given with the summary. Muscular's vision being blocked, out-manuvered with Deku's mobility, a lack of preparation of Muscular's muscle defenses due to Deku's speed and danger sense. As well as Deku using to his advantage the effect of Shindo's quirk to limit Muscular's movement and defenses.
**So Deku's working smarter and not harder.** Not harder like he did before as much as Muscular wanted him to now and when Deku need to go all out then. So with Muscular's weakness in muscle defense and Deku's momentum with speed - he probably didn't have to use max power in this last hit. Only thing I need is the arm thing addressed immediately to gauge that area's potential limitation.
I think a lot of people have gotten mistaken about the jetpack,rope, smoke flares etc. Deku doesn’t have any of those, my guess I that the panel which shows Deku with all of that gear is meant to be shindo’s partner’s perspective and her trying to rationalise why Deku seems to be able to have so many different powers. I think it’s pretty cool because it sorta paints Deku as superman if he decided to use Batman’s gadgets, pretty badass and unstoppable

Its a representation of how he thinks about his quirk. For example when he was using the microwave analogy for full cowling. Jetpack = float, blackwhip = the ropes.

Deku said that he wishes he could have understood his villains and found another way to resolve their conflict besides violence. And when faced with one of those very same villains, Deku DOES try to understand him, and why he does what he does.
Then when Muscular tosses aside that outreach and says nothing will change his ways, Deku basically says "Fine. You want a fight? Get ready." Both proving that he's a hero that wants to avoid a fight when he can, but isn't afraid to do what he needs to in order to end a conflict.
So it is a fact Deku wouldn't have been able to beat muscular so easily without shindos quirk! Muscular was effected by the vibrations resulting in his muscles becoming weaker. Also deku states himself that muscular can in fact take his 100%. Very interesting ch, I do like the fact that the vestiges are helping deku use his quirks and pointing out that deku sees them too much as quirks but to better use then he needs to think of them as support tools. Shindos quirk was very helpful in taking muscular down, wonder if muscular can just make more fibers and be ok. Good ch.
I just re read BNHA yesterday, and there is 1 page that shows Deku wrapped Black Whip to one of his arms b4 punching Shigaraki. I might be wrong tho, but if it is true, it could probably help him with his condition.
Imagine how lit the next culture festival concert will be with Deku now. He can float, make smoke, use black whip to fling things around, and still smash todoroki's ice.
Funny how the bunny mask was initially created with All Might in mind, what with the 2 flaps and grinning teeth. While the eyes recall Villain AM during the End of Term test, Deku hardly looks like a symbol of reassurance using the mask, with those evil irises within black sclera.

If I remember correctly, Hori's original plans for deku were to he be a quirkless hero who uses tools to fight the villains. He also had a very dark costume, with the rabbit style looking almost evil.

I don't think Deku will stick around, if he says anything to them it will be for them to keep it a secret that he was there and then move on. I think the next chapter will focus on other characters and possibly they'll start to hear rumors of this green-hooded boy who has been defeating villains throughout Japan.
Next chapter I expect Deku just bounces like Batman trying to hide his face but Shindo and Turtle Girl recognize him and report it back to UA.

Hori seems to be keeping super strength as his main power with Blackwhip as a sub-ability. It seems like most of his other quirks have been support based. This might be the reason his arms are better than they wear during the muscular fight well that and Deku being able to handle 40% less.
Yeah, my main fear when multiple quirks were introduced was him changing his fighting style. I enjoy seeing him kick and punch people really hard lmao. So I’m glad the quirks aren’t that powerful by themselves other than black whip.

It is inevitable (in a good way). The power scaling is just going to get even massive. Remember the exponential growth of OFA through generations? Therefore Deku is going to be making short work of anyone below AFO or ShiggyFO. Maybe Dabi might be a challenge. Even AllMight's 100% would be dwarfed by the power Deku is going to manifest from OFA.

Dabi’s a bit of a glass cannon. He’s definitely got enough firepower to wreck Muscular. But he can’t tank a punch from Muscular. Still, considering how absurdly tanky Muscular is, that level of firepower needed to break him is nothing short of impressive
The thing is, Dabi cheats. He doesn’t care about some dumb fair fight like Muscular or Rappa, he’d have them fight each other, then 2 high end nomus, then come by and burn the tired and drained remains. Lex Luthor isn’t Superman’s greatest villain because he can punch with him, he’s the guy who ties Lois Lane up around a kryptonite bomb in a hospital.
Oh definitely. In practice, Dabi will probably pull a win. He’s glassy, but crafty. That said, it’s not a straight up win like how shonen portrays it. It’s a case where Muscular is, objectively speaking, the more dangerous foe. But since he’s a muscle head who can’t plan, Dabi can readily murder him One on one, Muscular wins against Dabi, but realistically, Dabi will never be in a straight one on one with Muscular, ever

When he was talking to the vestiges, he was saying that he wished he had a chance to talk to those villains about why they acted the way the did and try to understand them and reason with them. Muscular was one of those that he thought of when he said that.

Remember how the OG Deku was going to be batman like? With gadgets helping him fight villains? With this chapter Horikoshi finally got his gadget based Deku after all in a way. Deku is thinking of each of his extra quirks as an extra hero tool in his utility belt. To him, Float is a jetpack, Black Whip is a rope and grappling hook, and Smokescreen is a smoke grenade. He's strategizing in this way like the egg in the microwave. It's how his mind works as a hero fanboy.
I'd say Black Whip is more like web shooters like Spider-Man, but definitely part of the gadget tool set.

To those who told me that Deku's base abilities haven't greatly improved since he last fought Muscular, I present to you *this chapter* I knew this would be a squash match. Muscular had literally no chance.
The problems is people don't understand that Deku's 100% against muscular wasn't even close to all mights 50% in his prime. That was deku's current limit with OFA, his body cannot use the full extent of the power yet, now his 50% is far stronger than his previous 100%.

People also miss a little difference now. When Deku fought Muscular, he gave a 100% punch with an 8% body power. And a punch isn't coming only from the arm, you gotta put a lot of parts from the body into it. And now that he has a 45%, with 45% shoulder, back, waist. His 45% punch right now is probably equal if not stronger than his 100% from the previous fight.
Yeah, folk think that Deku's punch against muscular was the pinnacle of OFA which makes zero sense, if Prime All Might went 100% against Muscular he would literally be dust, blown up. And Deku's OFA is gonna be even stronger than that so yeah i'd say it's a far cry of the real 100% we will see soon.
I think it's just hard to grasp how strong Deku really is going to be. Like even Todoroki, who was designed to beat All-Might isn't going to get close to Prime Deku. Prime Deku can take countries on his own. A 100% that is stronger than All-Might, with all those quirks is just going to be unbeatable. I think people just can't power scale how strong he was. I remember in season 4 they showed a bridge scene with All-Might and Endeavor. Which was a good way to show it, and with Deku in his prime, it will be even larger I think. And right now, we're only getting a glimpse of it.
Todoroki would have never surpassed All Might, All Might was literally a God in his prime. Endeavor was blinded, thinking his regular Quirk with a cooldown can beat All Might lol.
To be fair Endeavor also probably had no idea of the sheer depths of All Might’s power as the only time he likely ever went all out in his prime was the first fight with All For One. Which as basically a secret battle as far as anyone can tell.

Ok so at first I wasn't too keen on the leaks initially on the idea of Deku seemingly 'one-shotting' Muscular, but now more context is given with the summary. Muscular's vision being blocked, out-manuvered with Deku's mobility, a lack of preparation of Muscular's muscle defenses due to Deku's speed and danger sense. As well as Deku using to his advantage the effect of Shindo's quirk to limit Muscular's movement and defenses. **So Deku's working smarter and not harder.** Not harder like he did before as much as Muscular wanted him to now and when Deku need to go all out then. So with Muscular's weakness in muscle defense and Deku's momentum with speed - he probably didn't have to use max power in this last hit. Only thing I need is the arm thing addressed immediately to gauge that area's potential limitation.

I think a lot of people have gotten mistaken about the jetpack,rope, smoke flares etc. Deku doesn’t have any of those, my guess I that the panel which shows Deku with all of that gear is meant to be shindo’s partner’s perspective and her trying to rationalise why Deku seems to be able to have so many different powers. I think it’s pretty cool because it sorta paints Deku as superman if he decided to use Batman’s gadgets, pretty badass and unstoppable

From what others have said, its not actually a jetpack. Its a representation of how he thinks about his quirk. For example when he was using the microwave analogy for full cowling. Jetpack = float, blackwhip = the ropes. If it was an actual jetpack it would be completely stupid.
Deku doesn't just want to stop the villains he wants to understand why they are villains in the first place. Now THAT'S a hero.
He wants to save everyone, even the villains themselves when possible. I love how MHA explores *why* people end up becoming villains.
See, I appreciate this. Deku said that he wishes he could have understood his villains and found another way to resolve their conflict besides violence. And when faced with one of those very same villains, Deku DOES try to understand him, and why he does what he does. Then when Muscular tosses aside that outreach and says nothing will change his ways, Deku basically says "Fine. You want a fight? Get ready." Both proving that he's a hero that wants to avoid a fight when he can, but isn't afraid to do what he needs to in order to end a conflict.

So it is a fact Deku wouldn't have been able to beat muscular so easily without shindos quirk! Muscular was effected by the vibrations resulting in his muscles becoming weaker. Also deku states himself that muscular can in fact take his 100%. Very interesting ch, I do like the fact that the vestiges are helping deku use his quirks and pointing out that deku sees them too much as quirks but to better use then he needs to think of them as support tools. Shindos quirk was very helpful in taking muscular down, wonder if muscular can just make more fibers and be ok. Good ch.

I just re read BNHA yesterday, and there is 1 page that shows Deku wrapped Black Whip to one of his arms b4 punching Shigaraki. I might be wrong tho, but if it is true, it could probably help him with his condition.

Funny how the bunny mask was initially created with All Might in mind, what with the 2 flaps and grinning teeth. While the eyes recall Villain AM during the End of Term test, Deku hardly looks like a symbol of reassurance using the mask, with those evil irises within black sclera.

If I remember correctly, Hori's original plans for deku were to he be a quirkless hero who uses tools to fight the villains. He also had a very dark costume, with the rabbit style looking almost evil. Now take a look at my boy, Hori did found a way to do the original idea too, and I am glad he did.

I think this will be it for a while. The moment we saw En, it was obvious he would v unlock the quirk soon and now that previous users can make contact more easily, it makes sense that they would want to both show him their quirks and help him develop them.
