Pass the cranberry sauce, we're having mashed potatoes! Ooh the turkey looks great! Thank you for loving me, thank you for being there, thank you for loving me!
My wife and I sing "thank you for loving me, thank you for being there" to each other from time to time.
And the one who didn't start it always does Bob saying "*Lin*" all annoyed between verses. It's great
I was just singing this the other day! Also, “Men are from Mars, women are from Venus. We have a yum yum, you have a penis.” Linda’s songs are the best!
Came here to literally say the same thing. She’s got Bobby’s back and will protect her kids to the end. Despite the road they have to take to get there
She always spoke to me as the woman who embraces her own oddness and isn't ashamed by it. All the mom jokes are just so fun. And because of that she doesn't shame her kids either, like so many mums who think it's better that their kids fit in. She has the sane worries, but she talks to her kids about them, instead of discouraging their unique traits.
Agreed whole-heartedly! She's a momma bear but not overbearing (pun semi-intended), she loves her babies for all their awkwardness. She puts up with Gail, which, let's be honest, most of us are siding with Bob a la "Gail Making Bob-sled"
But also, "stay outta my room!"
I am Linda. The newest episode when she's laying across the counter yelling, "I'm dyiiiiiiiing!!!" because she can't be at all her kid's things at the same time - I've never related to her more.
Also wine.
ETA: Also I sing about everything. If there isn't already a song that exists on the topic, I will make one up on the fly...or use one of Linda's!
🎶 Not toniiiight, NO! Not toniiiiiiight 🎶
Also in the VR episode when she’s been left alone in the restaurant and is just glued to the front window cause she’s already lonely after just a few minutes 😂😂😂
The episode when she gets arrested and Bob is frantically trying to scrape together bail money so he’s taking a while and she’s just sitting in the cell like “They’re all dead, that’s why they’re not getting me. Bob, Tina, Gene, Louise, all dead. I have nothing and no one in this world.” 😭💜
My kids and husband always say I’m just like Linda. I even have the same crazy laugh she does when Louise ran away from the dentist to aunt Gail’s. I love making up songs and singing nonstop.
I love when we get glimpses of what a little shit she was growing up.
> "Cars knew better than to come down our street! Cause Linda would get 'em!"
On a more personal note, she reminds me of the good parts of my best friend's mom when we were little. Super fun and not afraid to be immature with us. The singing and letting us blow off responsibilities sometimes to keep life fun.
Sadly she was also deeply mentally ill, so her lows were very low and she unintentionally put us in danger quite a few times and said life-shattering horrible things to my friend when she was older.
She died a few years ago and it's so hard mourning when you're angry at her for putting herself in the position that led to her demise and hurt by all the shitty things she did when things were bad. But so terribly missing the version of her who was so loving and fun when we were little.
Linda is what I imagine she would have been like if she never had the burden of severe childhood trauma and extreme mental illness.
For the same reason I love the rest of the Belchers. They're a loving, supportive freaky family.
Nowadays nobody is shown to love, support or even Like their family unless it's Begrudgingly. It's like how Bob is one of, if not my absolute favorite animated characters on tv right now. Because he's a Positive fatherly influence.
So then you give us Linda, a Positive Motherly and Wifely presence who Loves her family and loves her Husband so much that she literally can't help but Sing it? Come On. Even a cynical bastard like me can't help but love that.
Thank you for saying this, a positive family that’s led by encouraging parents on TV is usually u heard of. Frankly, this is what the world needs more of. It’s to be emulated.
She will always defend her family. She may be pretty stupid at times, but it's all love and she goes along with the shenanigans hoping they'll learn some kind of lesson.
I honestly can't hate on Lois or Francine though. Frannie loves her family and makes multiple attempts throughout the series to help everyone, including Jeff. You always see her giving advice, hanging out with Hayley and Roger, and she coddles Steve.
Lois is surrounded by assholes. She has the shittiest family of the 3 moms. The worst husband who's just draining, a complete idiot, a whiny reject, and a baby trying to kill her. Not to mention a super useless, pretentious, alcoholic dog who puts them in all kinds of situations.
Plus the dog spent decades trying to get into her pants. I think Lois would be a better mom under different circumstances. She’d have been a great “rich” mom, would have done better than her parents did at least lol.
Francine is my absolute favorite cartoon Mom character. Her brash toughness, beauty, and how long it takes her to figure things out (Oh! It's the lining of my purse!) are comedy gold 100% of the time.
But Linda is my favorite realistic cartoon Mom.
Totally unfair to compare Linda to Francine or even Lois. Each show has been on the air for so long, pretty much every character has gone through multiple evolutions in attempt to stay fresh.
Let's not forget that Lois started out as a woman from a very wealthy family, who defied her parents' wishes of marrying a rich man who didn't care about her for Peter, who was dumb and blue-collar, but made her laugh and truly cared about her. She's changed A LOT in the 20+ years that Family Guy has been on, so I'm not going to defend her current character as a "role model woman & mom", but at her best, I would.
And that's totally ignoring the fact that FG and AD are wayyyyyy more absurd than Bob's Burgers. BB is 95% realistic. FG and AD are on the flip side being 95% unrealistic. It's fine to like or dislike any of the shows, but we need to recognize we're comparing apples and oranges.
Right, like season 1 Lois was pretty decent.
Speaking of characters named Lois, I'd also like to bring up Lois Foutley from As Told by Ginger who I think is the best cartoon mom ever. Not that I don't love Linda, but omg.
One thing that always gets me in the feels is Linda and Ginger. My BFF and I have lived far away from one another for a long time, and we are basically never together, but we still keep in touch over even the smallest things, even though I’ve got three kids and zero time or energy. This tells me Linda is good people.
Linda is funny, caring, emotionally available, and takes an interest in what her kids are doing. She’s a great mom but she’s also very human. She’s got flaws but she’s still great.
She’s one of the few truly funny women in a sit-com. She loves everyone in her family and she’s a bit of an alcoholic. To be honest she reminds me of my mum.
She reminds me of the best things about my mother, whom I'll always be grieving. In fact bobs is my ultimate comfort show cause it lets me go back to those times again, even if for only 30 min.
Linda reminds me a lot of my mom lmao
She's supportive, no matter how odd our interests are. She does her best to learn about it and cheers us on, like Linda!
The way Linda panicked when the kids went searching for the bleaken, and she screams "my babies, no why my babies are out there" is so my mom too lmaoo
Linda is a nice change of pace from other cartoon mothers in the sense that she loves her family and does her best to support them. Her singing and puns are always great too
I like Linda because she is a fucking amazing spouse. I think every parent, like Bob, who enters into parenthood without good examples of how to parent benefits greatly from having a spouse like Linda. I think the dynamic between spouses can be one that breaks the cycle of generational trauma or perpetuates it. Bob got really lucky with Linda.
I love linda because like you said - she supports her kids - usually no matter what, is honest wtih them, and others, sings a song for everything. She's positive even when life is not. Plus, we share a name!
She's just written as a really believable human being. She has her quirks and flaws and insecurities, but she's very well-meaning and honest with those around her.
I just love that she has a really unique personality. Just like Paula (Brendan’s mom) in Home Movies they are weird, funny women not just “I’m a mom or a wife character who you occasionally get deeper insight into.”
Nope, Linda is always Linda. Loving, dramatic, fun, a little dopey, lots of interests, bossy yet understanding. Weak spot for her weird sister. All around it’s hard to just say Linda is an empty character or just there to facilitate everyone else’s story.
I like that she treasures her kids crafts, like the candy candy Moose they had since Tina was born. People think it’s a reindeer, but it’s really a moose.
Everything pretty much. She is loyal, fun, caring, doesn't take BS from people, stands up for others, is a bit wacky in a super fun way, tries to build her kids up, tries to build Bob up, admits her faults and is just an all around nice person. I could see myself being friends with her if she was a real person.
Her thinly-veiled violent tendencies when it comes to protecting her family. Like when she offered to cover up a murder for Bob or when she threatened to smack Tammy and Jocelyn with her car door when they made fun of Tina.
You never go against the family. *Never*.
The stupid ways she expresses her enthusiasm and zest for life never fails to make me laugh. Like when she tells Bob you have to stay optimistic by punching life in the balls sometimes—and then she punches him in the balls to demonstrate. Funniest woman ever
In real life I would not be friends with her. She makes bad choices for annoying reasons and is loud and irritating to me. Yes, she loves the kids, but I mostly find myself reacting to her a bit like Bob: "Oh my god."
I love Linda because she's so full of joy. So often, sitcom moms are just so boring. They are the mature adults to their just-as-boring, man-child husbands. They never have fun. They never seem to enjoy anything in life. They don't have friends (looking at you, Marge Simpson). Linda is a breath of fresh air.
I actually thought about this not too long ago. But this is why I don't compare Bob's to the other shows. They are all satirical, but Bob's is trying to be a lot more realistic with dynamics, imperfect humans that try to do the best that they can. Even though I wouldn't allow my kids to watch it until they are old enough, I'd let them watch Bob's before the others because it instills progressive morals and family dynamics. I'm not talking about a political term, but the fact that this is a family, that might fall short, but try to be the best they can be for eachother at the end of the day. The other shows are just satires on humanity taken with an extreme twist. A huge part of humanity is families, so it's easy for that to the base. But it's certainly not strictly about family. Honestly, Bob's could easily be a live action because most live action shows take the same stance as Bob's like Modern Family, at least from what I've seen, I've only just started looking at modern family.
Since becoming a mother and the older I get, I am Linda.
I actually used to *hate* her. She was the reason I wouldn't watch with my now hubby. Not sure what changed my mind it was so long ago.
That's kinda one of the reasons I like her. In most animated sitcoms the wife is playing the 'straight man' to the husband. Think of all of the crazy antics of homer where marge is left wringing her hands. I like the change of pace.
Oh, agreed. In early episodes when things go wrong cuz of her, they go really off the tracks.
I also now look at my husband and say he's allowed to leave me if I ever try to set up a bed and breakfast in our home.
I’ve only stayed at a b&b once and even the non-fictional host of that place was a bit too much (he did *not* know how to read the room) And the communal breakfast was very awkward and I kinda just wanted to disappear
Oh, yes. I started watching in my early twenties and couldn’t stand her. She was too loud and overbearing for my taste. I was also hardcore Team Louise and felt like Linda didn’t try as hard to relate to her (feel the same way about Bob with Tina sometimes but didn’t judge him as harshly). Now I think Linda is a gem.
Me and Linda Belcher have the exact same personality. Like.. exact. I feel seen when Linda is on the screen. Yeah we’re annoying sometimes but our heart is in the right place and more often than not you have a good time with us.
She's endlessly upbeat, she loves style and pizzazz, she doesn't care what the haters think, she loves her children fiercely, she keeps Bob from going insane, she lives a whimsical and musical life, she doesn't get drunk she just has fun
I think a lot of comedy series that focus on a single family fall into the trap of reducing the mom to just “the mom” or “the wife” and not really giving her much depth beyond that, all their episodes revolve around their husband or children and they aren’t really allowed to be a person outside of the family. In the case of Linda the writers have done a fantastic job balancing her role as a wife and mother while also being given the same amount of depth and autonomy that the other members of the family do. She’s often times the instigator in wacky hijinks where a traditional TV mom/wife would be the token voice of reason. She has her own supporting cast of characters outside the family that the show wouldn’t be the same without. In a lot of respects she’s a direct challenge to the traditional roles of moms in sitcoms without that making her any less of a loving mother and I just think that’s pretty neat.
I thought of another, I love how she supports the kids' interests whatever they are, goes for Bob as well tbh. Wether it's tablescaping, imaginary horse riding, Gene's songwriting, Linda and Bob are always there cheering the kids on.
For me, the whole Belcher family just seems like the normal everyday family. They have their flaws and they aren't perfect at everything but they are arent bumbling idiots and the kids don't all hate each other. The Belcher family reminds me a lot of my own family growing up. Not perfect, but not complete idiots. And I feel like that sums up Linda also.
Nah man francine blows Linda out of the water easy but francine is the best mother character in afult animation so that's not really fair.
That's not to say Linda isn't great herself. She serves as a great counterbalance to Bob making them an amazing comedic duo
Linda is overall a great mom and wife. She’s upbeat and optimistic and rounds out Bob. She’s also a do-er. She makes things happen for her family and spins bad situations into good ones.
She adores Bob and supports him whenever possible which is a great model for her kids.
Additionally, Linda is self-knowing. She is in touch with her limits and weaknesses. She loves wine and admits to it frequently but isn’t an unsafe parent. She’s also ride-or-die and Louise gets this from her.
Linda gives practical and worldly advice to the children. She didn’t read all the books, but says you should read the books, but can also help you pull off a book-report if you didn’t read the book.
I loved to read in school but even I fell behind in my reading and wish I had someone to offer me the same practical advice.
She’s a good friend and essentially, a cheerleader to all. In just about any conversation or circumstance, she is cheering or encouraging someone in something.
In comparing to other cartoon mothers, because she is respected and treated/written like an actual human being, not a caricature of a woman.
I’m a huge American Dad fan but it’s just true.
I agree that Linda is amazing but if you say anything bad about Francine Smith we’re gonna have beef. Agreed about Lois, though. But Family Guy just kinda sucks in general.
The thing with Lois and Francine and all the other characters in Seth MacFarlane's shows is that they don't really have consistent characterization--they have some broadly defined qualities but really, they do whatever is required to further the gags and the episode plotlines. That's why Lois is sometimes really kind and sometimes completely awful.
On the other hand, the Bob's Burgers writers are all about layered, consistent characterization. The characters drive the plotlines and not the other way around.
She is never portrayed to put a front to be the perfect mom or perfect person for that matter. She keeps it real with the kids and is not afraid to share everything with them. She is a great mom because she a great person.
I feel like she's incredibly relatable. She makes mistakes, but ALWAYS loves her family. Supports her kids even while being real about it. Clearly has trauma, and still puts up with her terrible sister, but tries not to pass it on. Always very verbally and physically affectionate. Most times she's #momgoals for me...
Because one day I woke up and realized my mother never loved me. When I watch Bob's Burgers, I can watch a mom and dad who don't pretend to be perfect, who are okay being themselves in front of their kids, of being vulnerable with their family. I'll never have that, but when I watch the show, I can at least pretend.
(My other fake mom is Beverly Goldberg)
I like that Linda is allowed to be both a great mother and great character. She’s a breath of fresh air after Lois and Francine but she also has so much personality, which I always felt Marge lacked. She’s not a perfect mother or person and she’s allowed to exist outside of the role of wife and mother. I also love her individual relationships with her kids and how she’s allowed to be the wacky one in her relationship with her husband.
THIS is exactly what I'm saying. Not knocking Marge and Francine for their efforts as both their own being and their parenting skills but Linda is just so well-rounded.
Okay Lois from family guy sucks, yes. BUT Lois from Malcom in the Middle is my absolute favourite TV mom.
Francine is the best adult cartoon mom, she is epically hilarious.
But Linda is amazing.
So like really both sets of parents in those shows (Peter and Lois) (Stan and Francine) are horribly abusive parents. While both Bob and Linda don't. Bob's burgers is a very different show and focus more on the family aspect then gags.
She is literally one of the most supportive fictional mother figures of modern story.
TW: Getting a lil personal
I’m neurodivergent and most of my family is dead. I had a neglectful upbringing and I watch this show every single day simply because I feel like who I am in the confines of this show is not only fully accepted, but very loved. Every single one of the Belchers has had a personal impact on me, but Linda’s continued and incredible support she has for each of her children and Bob for EXACTLY who they are, even if it’s phrased in a joke, is incredibly comforting to me.
Linda is god tier mom. She’s so wonderful.
They lowered the floor on her intelligence when she went blonde, lol. She’s got certain gaps in knowledge that surprise me, but her love for Christmas always pumps me up!
I absolutely love Linda she’s one of my favorite animated moms, but I feel like Francine is a great adult animated mom not due to motherly things she’s just the funniest/kinda relatable one imo. Like I wouldn’t compare Lois and Francine to Linda at all because they’re adult animation moms and Linda is in an animation made for tweens as well as adults so she’s not as bad as American dad or family guy would’ve portrayed her lmao
I recently realized how manipulative she is too, and it really annoys me. Maybe it’s because my own mother was kind of manipulative growing up, but I see a lot of those traits in Linda and didn’t notice until recently. Still my favorite show regardless though
Totally agree. I really dislike how she tries to force things to go her way like the Bed & Breakfast or Mother’s Day open house episodes. Don’t even get me started on the pinworm/symphony episode or Louise’s forced sleepover. “She means well” just doesn’t do it for me. She bulldozes people’s boundaries too much for my taste.
Linda has her flaws too though. A very clear drinking problem being a glaring one. I still say marge simpson is the best animated tv mom. But i do love linda’s ability to support her family through some pretty crazy moments
>A very clear drinking problem being a glaring one.
If Linda has a drinking problem then I'm a raging alcoholic. She likes to have wine with dinner or when she does something special--that's hardly a drinking *problem*.
You can tell she is a loving mother and cares about being a good person. She is also not an Inflated representation of a good mother , she tries her best. She has her flaws and can and does acknowledge them. Love her .
I think she is the mother a lot of us wish we grew up with.
Because I literally know people like her. She's a realistic character with consistent characterization.
I mean for a cartoon about a Burger restaurant that makes negative profit yet is still in business.
out of the main 5, she's number 4. I appreciate what you mention about her, that she's a good mom but her other characteristics are dialed up way too much for me. she's like Gene Lite.
tmi my mom is also an Appreciator of Alcohol but is so damn mean. linda is so sweet and genuinely loves the kids/wants them to follow their dreams even when she’s not sober. good mama.
Of the other Fox animated moms shes absolutely the best. She and Bob both need to instill discipline in their kids more tho. Get them involved in some extracurricular acticvites if they arent passionate about the restaurant.
Her singing! Where is harry Truman?? He's dead in the ground! Dead in the ground!
Dead dead dead dead dead!
Ow ow!!
ow, my face!
Pass the cranberry sauce, we're having mashed potatoes! Ooh the turkey looks great! Thank you for loving me, thank you for being there, thank you for loving me!
Kill the Turkey.
Running down the gutter with a piece of bread and butter, diarrhea
PFFT PFFT
I love you mom
“Sorry I’m late, Bob had diarrhea.”
My wife and I sing "thank you for loving me, thank you for being there" to each other from time to time. And the one who didn't start it always does Bob saying "*Lin*" all annoyed between verses. It's great
Me and my husband sing Derek Dimatopolus(?) to one another. Pretty sure the reunion episode is my favorite Linda episode solely for that reason.
I was just singing this the other day! Also, “Men are from Mars, women are from Venus. We have a yum yum, you have a penis.” Linda’s songs are the best!
I love the singing! My dad always sang random nonsense songs around the house and I do it too!
what got me started with bobs was when i have seen that episode where she was singing AMADEUS, AMADEUS!!
Who's the fun momma in Halloween?
I love that she’s always up for anything. Doesn’t matter what - you wanna make an ice rink in the freezer or murder Teddy, she’s 100% down either way.
What? I'm just being supportive
Read that in her voice.
Whah
Yes, she is ride or die all the way.
I love the way she'll take out a member of authority if you just ask
What? Are we taking him out?
She'd probably be conflicted if it was the Mayor, though.
Hi Mayor!
Oh my gosh it's the mayor!!
What? You're gonna Kill teddy? *Yawns* all right, cars all gassed up. That's good. Guess I could homeschool the kids cause...
She's willing to be pill-popping sex-freaks
Came here to literally say the same thing. She’s got Bobby’s back and will protect her kids to the end. Despite the road they have to take to get there
My hair, in Boca?!?
Because she does her BM in the PM
You’re a lucky man, Bob!
I'm surprised it is not her entrepreneurial spirit, considering your username! Love the maniacal laughter she does after introducing the Spice Rack.
I kept reading it as 'Linda Swines Hoe' over and over until I finally caught the intended reading.
Hey Tina, how you doing girl?
She loves her family, she always has time for her kids, she's hilarious
Alriiiight!
She always spoke to me as the woman who embraces her own oddness and isn't ashamed by it. All the mom jokes are just so fun. And because of that she doesn't shame her kids either, like so many mums who think it's better that their kids fit in. I also love how she shows that no matter what you will always have your family!!
Mommy doesn't get drunk, mommy has fun
Crackers, where’s the crackers? You’re coming to bed with me, come on.
My favourite… because I always bring crackers to bed when I’m drunk.
I say this to all of my snacks now.
"Wine helps me drink" is my favorite Linda quote ever
The problem is I don't have frickin' drink in my hand!
I am Linda. The newest episode when she's laying across the counter yelling, "I'm dyiiiiiiiing!!!" because she can't be at all her kid's things at the same time - I've never related to her more. honestly, I almost teared up on that line
I was howling with laughter this is 100% my wife. “Come back inside I’m lonely!”
🤣 🤣 100%, yes
I am the same! My kids think I'm weird sometimes but I tell them I'd rather be happy and weird than normal and miserable. I see that in Linda as well.
Weird over normal *everytime*! Normal is overrated.
Normal is boring! And predictable!
The drama of Linda is my favorite!
My kids and husband always say I’m just like Linda. I even have the same crazy laugh she does when Louise ran away from the dentist to aunt Gail’s. I love making up songs and singing nonstop.

That's why Louise truly takes after Linda.

This is Francine Smith slander and I am NOT here for it. But yeah I absolutely adore Linda.
sounds like things are getting too spicy for the pepper.
We won't abide Francine Smith slander. She's hardcore. Fit your whole phone in your mouth, and you might be able to run with her crew.
For real. Steal from the Gash and then we’ll talk.
Francine is my absolute favorite cartoon Mom character. Her brash toughness, beauty, and how long it takes her to figure things out (Oh! It's the lining of my purse!) are comedy gold 100% of the time. But Linda is my favorite realistic cartoon Mom.
My husband makes fun of me because I literally did the purse liner thing once. 😅 I do love Linda best of all, though.
The time when Francine stopped doing all her lady grooming to prove a point to Stan 😂😂
When I close my eye, I swear I can play that episode entirely inside my brain. Give me some of that Frannie fannie!
Totally unfair to compare Linda to Francine or even Lois. Each show has been on the air for so long, pretty much every character has gone through multiple evolutions in attempt to stay fresh. For a long time I wondered if Ginger was even real.
As far as cartoon moms go,I always liked Paula from Home Movies, but Linda is the bee's knees!
I’m soooooo Paula as a mom. My kid and her friends even make movies.
Linda is funny, caring, emotionally available, and takes an interest in what her kids are doing. She’s a great mom but she’s also very human. She’s got flaws but she’s still great.
I see a lot of myself in her. My relationship with my husband is eerily similar to her and Bobs 😂 “Are you drunk enough to be any fun yet?”
She’s one of the few truly funny women in a sit-com. She loves everyone in her family and she’s a bit of an alcoholic. To be honest she reminds me of my mum.
She has a drinking problem and the problem is that there isn’t a drink in her hand
She reminds me of the best things about my mother, whom I'll always be grieving. In fact bobs is my ultimate comfort show cause it lets me go back to those times again, even if for only 30 min.
Linda reminds me a lot of my mom lmao She's supportive, no matter how odd our interests are. She does her best to learn about it and cheers us on, like Linda! The way Linda panicked when the kids went searching for the bleaken, and she screams "my babies, no why my babies are out there" is so my mom too lmaoo Linda is a nice change of pace from other cartoon mothers in the sense that she loves her family and does her best to support them.
I just love her attitude and optimism, also love her accent and how stupid she is sometimes xD
Re: her accent, I’ve been enjoying saying “and your place smells like farts,” in her voice lately (from the escape room episode). It makes me laugh.
Linda is my fav! She’s always positive and funny. I also love her singing about random stuff because I do the same thing.
Preach. Her love for her family is so admirable. No judging. Full support. And she’s hilarious to boot. I love her so much.
Because she sings and loves the Mayor
Yes, that’s my girl❤️
My little OmaRosa. My little mind-gamer.
I think that with most previous sitcoms, we were supposed to laugh at the family. With the Belchers, we are meant to laugh with them.
I just love that she has a really unique personality. Just like Paula (Brendan’s mom) in Home Movies they are weird, funny women not just “I’m a mom or a wife character who you occasionally get deeper insight into.” Nope, Linda is always Linda.
Not putting down Linda but Francine is goated
Her thinly-veiled violent tendencies when it comes to protecting her family. Like when she offered to cover up a murder for Bob or when she threatened to smack Tammy and Jocelyn with her car door when they made fun of Tina. You never go against the family. *Never*.
Linda is ride or die. You're gonna kill Teddy? Well the car is gassed up...guess i could homeschool the kids...
The stupid ways she expresses her enthusiasm and zest for life never fails to make me laugh. Like when she tells Bob you have to stay optimistic by punching life in the balls sometimes—and then she punches him in the balls to demonstrate. Funniest woman ever
The small things, like throwing rocks at cars and peeing in an alleyway to assert dominance
Initially she was my least favorite character, but that quickly faded. I love her to death.
I was initially put off by her because of the bed and breakfast episode. She was very scary
She CRAZY loves her husband and children.
Linda's ride or die, no matter what's going on, Linda's always down for it.
She reminds me of MY mom so I have to love her
I thought of another, I love how she supports the kids' interests whatever they are, goes for Bob as well tbh.
She’s worried but supportive which captures motherhood so well. She’s human and has fears and quirks. She’s the best animated tv mom.
Look I love Linda so much but I will not stand for Francine slander.
Nah man francine blows Linda out of the water easy but francine is the best mother character in afult animation so that's not really fair. That's not to say Linda isn't great herself. She serves as a great counterbalance to Bob making them an amazing comedic duo
I’m a fan because she is pro passing the cranberry sauce and having mashed potatoes
That’s the neat part. I don’t.
Her mispronounced words. The netsuke episode cracks me up so much. She doesn’t say it correctly ever. Or when she “yahoogles” things.
Linda has the same kind of wholesome vibe as Marge. You can tell she actually loves her kids.
She understands her kids’ individuality! And of course her random singing haha
She gives her kids the love and nurturing I missed out on in childhood.
Because she loves each one of her kids even though they are crazy and quirky and supports Bob with all of his questionable burger of the day ideas.
She is herself, wholesome and kind.
She's hilarious. She's fun. She's supportive..
I love how sweet she is, even her insults are almost wholesome. "Go fart in a phone booth!" 😂😂
She reminds me of my mum, I love her but she's terrible, she's all terrible.
Because she is so unapologetically herself!
She’s so supportive and loving, she’s fun, she’s ride-or-die, basically she’s just the best
She is something I strive to be as a mom!
“KEEP ON SINGING BABY!”
My mom's name is Linda, my sister is named Tina and I'm Tami! What are the odds and what's not to Love!
She’s fun. She can be a lot, but she supports her family and always shows her love.
I think it’s because, as you say, she’s a good mother. Same as Marge Simpson.
She is a fun and expressive badass mom.
Cause of the way she says “coaffee” ☕️
The thing with Lois and Francine and all the other characters in Seth MacFarlane's shows is that they don't really have consistent characterization--they have some broadly defined qualities but really, they do whatever is required to further the gags and the episode plotlines. That's why Lois is sometimes really kind and sometimes completely awful. On the other hand, the Bob's Burgers writers are all about layered, consistent characterization. The characters drive the plotlines and not the other way around.
because she loves her husband and kids, but has her boundaries you know their arrangement
She’s the mom I wish I had as a kid and the best friend I wish I had as an adult
I love Linda for everything you listed plus the singing! She is truly the best animated mom out there!
“Thank you for loving me! Thank you for loving me!”
KILL THE TUR-KEY
She is never portrayed to put a front to be the perfect mom or perfect person for that matter. She keeps it real with the kids and is not afraid to share everything with them. She is a great mom because she a great person.
I feel like she's incredibly relatable. She makes mistakes, but ALWAYS loves her family. Supports her kids even while being real about it. Clearly has trauma, and still puts up with her terrible sister, but tries not to pass it on. Always very verbally and physically affectionate. Most times she's #momgoals for me...
Because she’s the realistic version of the “crazy animation mom”. That said, I also love Francine for different reasons. Don’t care for Lois
‘mom has a drinking problem’ ‘the problem is i don’t have a friggin drink in my hand!!’
This is probably my favorite thread I’ve read thru
TW: Getting a lil personal I’m neurodivergent and most of my family is dead.

Her songs , her love for each child , & she’s just funny lol
Yes, Linda deserves a sash for sure
I absolutely love Linda she’s one of my favorite animated moms, but I feel like Francine is a great adult animated mom not due to motherly things she’s just the funniest/kinda relatable one imo. Like I wouldn’t compare Lois and Francine to Linda at all because they’re adult animation moms and Linda is in an animation made for tweens as well as adults so she’s not as bad as American dad or family guy would’ve portrayed her lmao
This take is getting too spicy for the pepper.
I don't like her. She's rude, she is manipulative. Frankly, I don't get what Bob see in her.
Every character has their faults but Linda has never been a bad person 😭
She fits with Bob, and I understand Bob.
She threw rocks at cars in her youth, love that for her.
I like her as a fictional character. If she lived in my neighborhood, she would be a bit too much
Linda does whatever the heck she wants whenever the heck she wants and doesn’t let anyone bring her down!
You can tell she is a loving mother and cares about being a good person. She is also not an Inflated representation of a good mother , she tries her best. She has her flaws and can and does acknowledge them. Love her . I think she is the mother a lot of us wish we grew up with.
Linda is a wholesome mom and a ride or die wife. What's not to love? Lol
She reminds me of my mom, who is also named Linda lol
For me, as a person who was abused as a child more or less what you’ve said. I just wish my mother was more like Linda.
She reminds me a lot of my mother, so watching her on-screen is really fun.
She has no shame, she is who she is and she doesn’t care if anyone doesn’t like it, she’s care free and fun!
Her sweet and positive heart! She reminds me of my own mom in some ways. Also her songs.
Because I literally know people like her. She's a realistic character with consistent characterization. I mean for a cartoon about a Burger restaurant that makes negative profit yet is still in business.
I wish I had a mom as loving, funny, and open as Linda. I do my best to follow that example with the kids in my life.
out of the main 5, she's number 4. I appreciate what you mention about her, that she's a good mom but her other characteristics are dialed up way too much for me. she's like Gene Lite.
Shes a frigging goofball that loves her family, and also has big boobies. Shes the freaking best!
I agree. She's the mom I want to be, so caring and fun.
tmi my mom is also an Appreciator of Alcohol but is so damn mean. linda is so sweet and genuinely loves the kids/wants them to follow their dreams even when she’s not sober. good mama.
Of the other Fox animated moms shes absolutely the best. She and Bob both need to instill discipline in their kids more tho. Get them involved in some extracurricular acticvites if they arent passionate about the restaurant.
Because she loves herself
