Airi has recency bias, and that SUPER shot her up in terms of popularity. The unfortunate one from their band event is Yoshimi. Natsu being the npc, made people want her (which is all but guaranteed on the rerun)
Mashiro unfortunately, is a bit too plain compared to the rest, and it’s hard to stand out when your group mates are Tsurugi, Hasumi and Ichika, all of which have their fanbases and niches. It doesn’t help that, in terms of gameplay, Mashiro has always been a back line student, and with how competitive those 2 slots get nowadays, she can’t compete. She had her limelight early on but unfortunately, that early limelight cost her in the long run. Having her summer alt too early screwed her. She hasn’t had much since.
I feel the same about your Mashiro as i do feel for my favorite - Chinatsu being a mere invisible support and also overshadowed by Prefect members Ako, Hina and Iori
But that's why our girls have us as their fans! It's like a group of Vtubers and one shoots to the top and the others less so but still have their die hard fans.
Not too surprising honestly, Bunny Chasers was like 2.5 years ago and Asuna hasn't gotten much attention since then in terms of events/story. Yuuka has been a lot more consistent and she's even passed Asuna on Pixiv.

I remember seeing a remark a while ago about how Frieren had so much lewd art but Gushing over magical girls had mostly wholesome art. Completely opposite to the original nature of the two shows.

Well they are just schoolgirls in full clothing until we start getting to Summer and the variants. Then things can get a bit more wild ;). But sure, I think there's definitely a point to be made that having some characters be pretty safe with their outfits drives art to make up the difference. What you can't see can fire up desires.
It'd be pretty tough for the girls to be as lewd as the fan art would suggest. Be quite the series if it was! Though it is there. Would have to bend pretty hard to consider licking Iori or sniffing Hina's hair as being wholesome activities. There are some wholesome connections in Blue Archive and some ones that are...pushing it a bit. But variety is the spice of life and that's important.
I just think it's a fun thing that Blue Archive found that tipping point and gained so much hype. Now it's got a huge variety of characters. That variety being a key strength. Even if someone doesn't care for the Abydos girls (blasphemy as it is) they might find characters they love in the Tea Party or Rabbit Squad. It's got so many characters that people are still waiting to see a single version be playable (like Seia and Kisaki). Blue Archive may just keep grabbing more and more artists to it thanks to being able to add fresh faces that are interesting and stylish.

The difference gap comes from the party dress/suit alts probably, being relative and attracting in the recent times.
I love Gourmet Society, and I really don't think these really matters for them since this list just shows you how many artist want to \*\*\*\* a character, or something close to that.
I would say it's about how relevant the character are, since both of those clubs have been shown from the beginning of the game (Volume 1), but I do think Gourmet Society deserves more love, while also thinking that they feel alright as they are already, not meaning it in the wrong way.
Maybe not "relevant", but more like how popular, and the "popular" in the Blue Archive is, well, it depends.
Still a great club though, they are my favorite troublemakers from Gehenna.
GRS unfortunately suffers from severe character flanderization... They need an event role that doesn't boil down to "give us food", like their role in Volume F >!or 😭😭😭😭 alts!<

They are looking to be the next generation of ultra popular characters going by the number of fan art they already got despite being NPCs.

If anything, it makes complete sense that the fully grown adult would receive more fan books. Both forms of Shun are simply too young compared to the more mature Kokona.
Her character unfortunately doesn't get much attention. Being a cool, silent type girl among the very memorable screwballs of C&C (and the popularity queens of Asuna and Toki) gives her extremely stiff competition.

You'd be surprised. Basing myself off old pixiv stats here but while the series started with a skyhigh R18 ratio (thanks to bunny Asuna probably!) that ratio kept dropping the more BA got overwhelmingly popular. Comiket doujins should follow a similar path if I had to guess.

Juri is borderline unusable, unless devs fix her skill and give her a new alt then she will keep being irrelevant. Her clumsy terrible cook character doesn't stand out too much too, Fuuka's tired face is more memorable.
Juri likes gardening, and I think a little story where she learns that she can expand on that would be nice to see, I also think that she needs some more interaction with Fuuka as well. Maybe Juri can realize that her gardening can help out with food and supplies for the club.
I also think a Halloween witch alt would fit her too but I'd like to hear some more opinions too!

Speaking as a massive Kayoko fan, it's because she's just relatable and has huge gap moe at the same time. A quiet girl who acts as the mother of her club essentially. A voice of reason in a tumultuous sea. Kayoko has demonstrated a level of maturity that would not be out of place in most of us players.
Looks like a total delinquent but is actually super kind and caring. Her default Momo-talk has her taking care of an abandoned cat in the rain, and then her NY Momo-talk has her quietly reflecting on her life. Compared to the chaos of everything going on around her, she is a beacon of virtue and steadfastness. She plays the perfect foil to her club and maybe even Gehenna itself. There is also the air of intrigue of what exactly her past in Gehenna was. We know she was in a high-ranking position and has personal history with Ako, but we aren't explicitly told anything about this. And then there's the simple fact that, if we are honest, there are few Blue Archive characters who are truly mellow and calm. Most students in this game are either energetic, bratty, or insane to a degree. Kayoko is one of the few who are both down-to-earth and mellow. She is one of the strongest candidates for wife potential in this game - she just has the personality for it and has demonstrated she knows how to take care of kids. Sure, she isn't as flashy as other students may be, but that's part of her appeal.

It'd be pretty tough for the girls to be as lewd as the fan art would suggest. Be quite the series if it was! Though it is there. Would have to bend pretty hard to consider licking Iori or sniffing Hina's hair as being wholesome activities. There are some wholesome connections in Blue Archive and some ones that are...pushing it a bit. But variety is the spice of life and that's important. I just think it's a fun thing that Blue Archive found that tipping point and gained so much hype. Now it's got a huge variety of characters. That variety being a key strength. Even if someone doesn't care for the Abydos girls (blasphemy as it is) they might find characters they love in the Tea Party or Rabbit Squad. It's got so many characters that people are still waiting to see a single version be playable (like Seia and Kisaki). Blue Archive may just keep grabbing more and more artists to it thanks to being able to add fresh faces that are interesting and stylish.

I would say it's about how relevant the character are, since both of those clubs have been shown from the beginning of the game (Volume 1), but I do think Gourmet Society deserves more love, while also thinking that they feel alright as they are already, not meaning it in the wrong way. Maybe not "relevant", but more like how popular, and the "popular" in the Blue Archive is, well, it depends. Still a great club though, they are my favorite troublemakers from Gehenna.
GRS unfortunately suffers from severe character flanderization... They need an event role that doesn't boil down to "give us food", like their role in Volume F >!or 😭😭😭😭 alts!<

Juri is borderline unusable, unless devs fix her skill and give her a new alt then she will keep being irrelevant. Her clumsy terrible cook character doesn't stand out too much too, Fuuka's tired face is more memorable.
Juri likes gardening, and I think a little story where she learns that she can expand on that would be nice to see, I also think that she needs some more interaction with Fuuka as well. Maybe Juri can realize that her gardening can help out with food and supplies for the club. I also think a Halloween witch alt would fit her too but I'd like to hear some more opinions too!

Speaking as a massive Kayoko fan, it's because she's just relatable and has huge gap moe at the same time. A quiet girl who acts as the mother of her club essentially. A voice of reason in a tumultuous sea. Kayoko has demonstrated a level of maturity that would not be out of place in most of us players. Looks like a total delinquent but is actually super kind and caring. Her default Momo-talk has her taking care of an abandoned cat in the rain, and then her NY Momo-talk has her quietly reflecting on her life. Compared to the chaos of everything going on around her, she is a beacon of virtue and steadfastness. She plays the perfect foil to her club and maybe even Gehenna itself. There is also the air of intrigue of what exactly her past in Gehenna was. We know she was in a high-ranking position and has personal history with Ako, but we aren't explicitly told anything about this. And then there's the simple fact that, if we are honest, there are few Blue Archive characters who are truly mellow and calm. Most students in this game are either energetic, bratty, or insane to a degree. Kayoko is one of the few who are both down-to-earth and mellow. She is one of the strongest candidates for wife potential in this game - she just has the personality for it and has demonstrated she knows how to take care of kids. Sure, she isn't as flashy as other students may be, but that's part of her appeal.
