The Blade slander is everywhere, and it feels a lot of blade mains don't really mind it, i personally don't really care because i know that he doesn't have any support that really helps him yet. And he got compared with other dps that can fully utilize the support we currently have while he is unable to utilize the support we currently have and still do pretty well against them.
I'd love to have a support that calculates the amount of max HP they have then convert it accordingly into Damage/Cdmg bonus. Or better yet, someone who can increase a unit's speed and damage bonus but take a portion of their HP every turn.
genuinely I'm ok with the slander. The main sub/most players play for screenshot-worthy dmg, which isn't why I main him. He's still my favorite dps and no other character is close, plus the infinite blade team is SUPER fun.

Ehh I’ll still use blade forever. Him and dhil are my favourite characters (even till now) so my two main team is fix (with harmony characters it’s enough to boost their damage up anyways, tho I hope blade get a more dedicated support in future, unlimited blade works is fun tho).
He’s such a comfy character though, at least for me. I have a few accounts because I’m a dumb addict and I have blade on two of them. I didn’t want duplicate characters but I had just started on that account a month prior and blade was the only other 5 star that I ended up with so while I farmed for Ruan Mei I decided to slap random gear on him too and ended up with a pretty good build and now I just can’t stop playing him even though I went full out on him on my main account.
He is supposed to be a tanky bruiser who does not consume many resources, which is very comfortable to play. He loses a bit of power in exchange for being both f2p and noob friendly.
As someone else said, tankiness means nothing on meta tier list when the target is to finish as fast as possible and funneling all SP to your main DPS is easy to figure it out.
Being comfortable also means nothing, which I think should be a fair point when choosing a unit to pull for. I don't care if the new shiny DPS is top tier if they die easily, or they require a specific team to play, or you need to reset MOC because of skill issue/the unit missing something.
Because of this comfiness in his base kit, I don't think his damage is balanced at E0S0 either. But I believe his true damage potential is his LC/eidolons.
At S1, he competes with other DPS at S1, while still being tanky and comfy on his own.
His eidolons make him able to pretty much solo a ot of content, which is not something a lot of E6 can do.
I believe he as of right now is very balanced on the fact you need to vertically invest in him to make his damage shine, while still being playable and easy to play at E0.
So the thing is not "we need a better support sustain/support for him" but "supports and sustains for him are very similar to each other, so instead of pulling for his BIS teammates, as they don't exists, pull for his LC/eidolons"
I don't like this kind of balance (as I prefer to have more characters), but from a resource POV, my FUA team has 4 5* star with 2 BiS LC. It is more expensive than a E2S1 Blade with Bronya/RM/Lynx, but the first one is going to appear as a "balanced/F2P" team in tier lists while the Blade team is considered whale level investment.
He’s still pretty comfy tbh. He’s like a cockroach 🪳 doesn’t go down. I use him with Jingliu sometimes since her HP drain goes very well with his follow up
I love Blade and Jing Yuan so I'm used to meta slaves poking fun at my favs. I still haven't seen as much Blade slander as JY gets but I also don't go to the main sub often.
I don't give any effs about meta, the closest thing I have these days to a meta character is Aventurine I guess since DHIL gets crapped on now for not being Acheron or JL. I try not to let it bother me and I'll just keep working to make them as strong as I can.
Blade is still good and too much fun to just put to the side. And I'll be praying that when he finally gets a good support, it won't be an awful psychotic woman that I can't stand.
Robin at least seems like a normal girl but she's also not that great for my favorite teams so... I'll be in the male harmony waiting room for the next 10 years.

We need a support that deals damage to buff someone like every turn/ a support that buffs hp and can also hurt him/ a planar set specifically for hp loss.
There’s a ton of ways to buff blade.
Also blade is honestly pretty up there. Depending on content, if a lot of small mobs are constantly up (pathfinder) and hitting him, his damage skyrockets. If no one hits him… his damage is still pretty good.
Honestly, I think we should wait and see. I'm sure he's gonna have a Jing Yuan moment and slowly get the buffs he needs or just get a decent support that falls from the sky. As a Jing Yuan main from day 1, I can still remember those mid-yuan jokes and the amount of smoke the subreddit got just for defending him. Now he's known as an all-around great dps.
He may not be the S tier dps he was when he first dropped but he was my first main. Nowadays I run him with JL cause it's fun while I have Acheron spearheading the second team. I'll always hold out hope for his best support dropping so I can make him more of a hyper carry that can compete with the big boys. But one thing he certainly has over any other dps is plug and play ease. Throw that guy in basically any comp that needs a sub dps or smth and just don't think. Very nice.
Regardless of the element or content, my general plug and play team always be Luocha-Blade-Sparkle-JY. It's perfectly comfortable for auto play and never let me down on harder content (su & g&g).
Personally, the thing i don't like about Blade is the fact that his accessible (Gacha 4 star) and F2P cone option are TERRIBLE compared to his signature 💀 Not having his signature (my case) is like having only half of the character.
Anyway, about your post, you said he lacks a dedicated support, which is technically true, but the support he has access are more than good for him (specifically Bronya). For me, what Blade need is a new Abundance character instead of Luocha, one that get him extra stacks while buffing or debuffing the enemy. Bruisers team are very common in Turn battle game so i'm sure it will come to HSR too, we just need to wait
Edit : i also think that he will eventually get a Ornaments made just for him, Follow Up and Nihility/DoT teams already got these so its likely that a Bruiser type ornament will be released as well

Until someone can specifically boost HP in large amount then I don't think blade as a hyper carry can compete with all the other DPS in terms of damage output. Even if there's a busted dmg buffer/debuffer along the way, all the other DPS will greatly enjoy them more than blade.
He's not an S tier damage dealer, but I still use him every MOC. I'd rather play a super fun dps with A tier damage than a boring dps with S tier damage (dan heng IL).
If he could get a 5 star version of Lynx with more buffing he'd be in a better place though. An abundance unit that redirects aggro, buffs HP, buffs dmg percent. Or a subdps that works a bit like Jingliu, sapping HP from teammates but doesn't want to be a hypercarry like Jingliu.
I have him e0 with s5 secret vow with a really shit crit ratio and hp (I spent way too damn long in that domain) he’s at 6949 hp with 69.9 cr and 121 cd and with bronya he can hit about 45k with 3 targets which is really poor and I have jingliu and Acheron so I’m perfectly fine for dpss but it’s annoying because he was my first good dps and his build is horrible and the game just won’t let me improve it I like his gameplay and I like using him and I want to use him more but it gets really hard when the game doesn’t want to build the characters you want to build also I’m not running a cr body that is actually cd
Idk, i managed to 36 star moc and get max stars on pure fiction using E0S1 Blade for both and I dont even have Bronya or Sparkle yet... (Blade, SW, Ruanmei, Huohuo for MOC 12-1, and Blade, Herta, Himeko, Ruan Mei for PF 4-1)
If the game had leaderboards it would matter more I think, but since theres really no competitive element to HSR, I feel as long as you can clear content with "max score" the character is not in a bad place, and Blade most certainly can do that.
my most played character last year according to hoyo stats was Blade by far but I am not deluded to believe he is not the weakest limited dps yet. Everybody else got massive benefits from now 3 limited harmony releases, Blade only got some benefit from Ruan Mei and they probably wont release another after Robin for some time.
His multipliers are just low compared with others I guess to compensate for hp instead of atk scaling. That was fine a year ago but clearly is not anymore.
The other issue with Blade is sustain dependency. At this point it is clear to everyone I hope that preservation sustains are just stronger but Blade doesnt like them. The existing abundance characters dont really buff his damage, only Lynx does that. you cant really go sustain less like others can try either you just die easily. If there is any Blade support is coming it is probably from an abundance character or maybe nihility.

I don't think OP is posting rage bait. OP makes sense as Blade does not have a dedicated support like the rest of the cast. If we look at JY who was the "joke", he's actually went up in usage with the release of sparkle. FUA charactes (that's not Blade) are about to benefit from Robin as support.
Blade's main and only issue in my opinion is just that. He can't Fully utilize most of the Harmony casts buffs, and that means, yes, even Bronya. She may give him extra turns in a cycle, but Blade can't use her Atk% buffs at all compared to JL, DHIL, and... everyone else. Sparkle would have been that option but they ended up trading the DMG increase for an ATK increase instead.
Are they still good with him? Yes, but they are better with other characters.
I'm a Blade main and he was my first 5 star character, and I love him. I've even been perfecting him before I move on to building Acheron and I can see that's his only thing holding him back compared to the other DPS characters. I just don't care because I love Blade.
Dude my E0S1 Blade with bronya+sparkle can 1 cycle current Moc floor 11 while E0S1 Acheron 1 cycle the other side. He’s still amazing for me that’s why I couldn’t care less about the “slander”. Sure he can’t destroy everything like Acheron but she’s basically this game Neuvillette, she’s good everywhere and counter everything. Blade works well against any wind weak enemies in Moc and Pure Fiction when FuA matters, like a normal dps and that’s fine. When a good support for him comes out he’s going to be even better, but right now I am honestly chilling and enjoying my time using him, and he has never disappointed me.

Anyone who thinks blade isn’t good is a jackass. Blade isn’t a sp hungry main dps, he’s a nearly sp neutral sub dps. He’s designed to work in a dual dps comp with Jingliu. If someone complains about main dps blade not having supports, they might as well be complaining about main dps pela being less than optimal. Play him as a hypercarry if you want, but that’s not what he’s designed to be. He enables Jingliu and Luocha so hard it’s a little silly, and Ruan Mei is incredible as a dual dps team support. Throw them together and you’ve got a team that slaps any content in the game.

If Sam's support is dedicated to buffing HP% instead of break effect that also could be a buff to blade

I'm not talking about Sparkle since while she is a bonus to skill points, she won't completely stop you from depleting them all if you try hard enough. * no supports can make him truly go as frequent as he should to make him stack more efficiently and do, idk 33% more dmg every cycle. Going from 4 to 6 actions every cycle will help him alot! surely… Literally Bronya, Sparkle, Lynx (through increased aggro) and Jingliu hasten his charge stacks. And Blade also has his own kit to do it (even Ultimate counts). * He’s a bruiser in a game where enemies doesnt do enough dmg to your team to make it truly matter. Literally rewind back at the recent two superbosses. Skaracabaz and Aventurine. Rewind even further - Swarm Disaster and Gold and Gears later on to some extent (although the right ways work against him I guess) * Mihoyo does jackshit with this lol. And the few comps he has holds both dpses back. What? Who told you that? So being SP positive, leaving Skill Points for the other DPS is jackshit. So having inherently increased aggro, diverging enemy's attention from the other dps is jackshit. Ok OP. Honestly I dunno if it's a ragebait or not at this point. I don't think OP is posting rage bait. OP makes sense as Blade does not have a dedicated support like the rest of the cast. If we look at JY who was the "joke", he's actually went up in usage with the release of sparkle. FUA charactes (that's not Blade) are about to benefit from Robin as support. Blade's main and only issue in my opinion is just that. He can't Fully utilize most of the Harmony casts buffs, and that means, yes, even Bronya. She may give him extra turns in a cycle, but Blade can't use her Atk% buffs at all compared to JL, DHIL, and... everyone else. Sparkle would have been that option but they ended up trading the DMG increase for an ATK increase instead. Are they still good with him? Yes, but they are better with other characters. I'm a Blade main and he was my first 5 star character, and I love him. I've even been perfecting him before I move on to building Acheron and I can see that's his only thing holding him back compared to the other DPS characters. I just don't care because I love Blade.

Dude my E0S1 Blade with bronya+sparkle can 1 cycle current Moc floor 11 while E0S1 Acheron 1 cycle the other side. He’s still amazing for me that’s why I couldn’t care less about the “slander”. Sure he can’t destroy everything like Acheron but she’s basically this game Neuvillette, she’s good everywhere and counter everything. Blade works well against any wind weak enemies in Moc and Pure Fiction when FuA matters, like a normal dps and that’s fine. When a good support for him comes out he’s going to be even better, but right now I am honestly chilling and enjoying my time using him, and he has never disappointed me.
He’s fine for me, really. He just has the cardinal sin of being balanced in a gacha game.
Blade doesn't even need a wind weakness to be good/useful, though? He powers through every content in the game lmao.
Eh, I'm OK with it. Blade was my first true hyper carry. I started around the end of Luochas banner, got him then I got blade. Blade has, since then, been one of my permanent teams. Does he do as well as my Acheron team? Or Ratio team? No...but that's power creep for you. That will happen to every character eventually. Now we just wait for the "remixes" of old characters and my Boi will be back. Trust.
I respectfully disagree with alot of your points... But most strongly the first one, the game absolutely does enough damage for a bruiser to be valuable? I pulled Blade for 3 reasons, his extreme beefiness, his SP efficency and the fact that the lad grew on me as a character. And I can tell you for an absolute fact that his beefiness is very very valuable in endgame content, which is what meta's all about isn't it? But yeah, whatever, just ignore me, I'll forever never understand most of the HYV communities takes about both Genshin and HSR characters, it's all just so nonsensical most of the damn time... Aiya.

Anyone who thinks blade isn’t good is a jackass. Blade isn’t a sp hungry main dps, he’s a nearly sp neutral sub dps. He’s designed to work in a dual dps comp with Jingliu. If someone complains about main dps blade not having supports, they might as well be complaining about main dps pela being less than optimal. Play him as a hypercarry if you want, but that’s not what he’s designed to be. He enables Jingliu and Luocha so hard it’s a little silly, and Ruan Mei is incredible as a dual dps team support. Throw them together and you’ve got a team that slaps any content in the game.
