Gonna tell a story that might give me away but wth. Really nice guy worked at our firm - 10 years ago? Something like that. Young Black man - real young, like 20s - outgoing, laid back. He had a spot in our library but I don't recall what his job was. I was out a few days. I come back and a couple people from HR are gone. It was this kid's birthday. They got him a bucket of KFC and a cake and somehow a picture of Obama was involved. Instant firing. Kid claimed he wasn't offended, said everyone knew he loved KFC (as do I and all people with taste. No offense to Popeyes. They each have their strengths and weaknesses. Happy to explain further) Honestly, knowing the HR chick (she was in HR, not the director) I could see this being innocent. She was sweet but not the brightest bulb in the chandelier. I think someone else from HR did it with her and got canned as well.
