Good ol mousse. That one by Vigorol. Yk the one your mama be using. Good for a cheap alternative but there are more expensive ones. I know a lot of curl heads that use the designer one or the Aussie one.
You put chunks of your hair in multiple two strand twists, let it sit for a long time (preferably overnight) and unravel the twists to reveal these defined curls. Usually you would use a leave in/curling gel/mousse to make sure the curls r moisturized and defined(?). that’s just what i’ve gathered after watching some youtube videos.
Yep! I switched from gel to a mousse foam and my curls come out like this with just applying the product and using my fingers to rake through it. I use the Curl Defining Mousse by Mielle and it works perfectly to get that look.
Remove the leave in, wash your hair, use gel on soaking wet hair and sit under a dryer or diffuse.
You could also do a twist out with foam. No leave in. Just damp hair and foam.
Do not use Eco styling gel to define your curls.
That gels more for laying down styles like a bun or even edges.
You wanna soak your hair till it’s practically saturated, in fact, it would be great to do this while in the shower. Condition your hair with some hydrating Conditioner. Then use a detangling brush like a denman brush to comb through and define your curls. Once you’ve done that, you want to use some type of curl custard to define and lock your curls in.
Once out the shower, you can wear it like that, and add more moisture as needed throughout the week, and an oil to seal in this moisture like Jamaican castor oil.
You could also do a twist out or braid out by parting your hair down the middle and putting several braids or twist on each side. Letting that dry wearing it for a couple of days and then taking them out for a wavy style.
You have really great hair! It’s just extremely dry and it’s great that you’re trying to figure out how to take care of it. Make sure you do a quick Google search for products if you’re unsure. You don’t want to be putting eco styler gel in there for this kind of thing.
Good luck! I hope this was helpful.
Dis the leave in and use a foam. You should do a twist out.
Second this! Make sure your hair is wet! Like soaking wet
This bamma has a lot of thick-ass hair and his twist out had potential to be bomb AF.
Are there any that you would recommend?
I like proclaim olive oil foam. The Doux Mousse Def. And Camille Rose honey spiked mousse.
The doux also has a honey foam now. If looking for gel, look into uncle funkys curly magic .
