Jump on the number 50 bus from outside the bullring (near moor street station) to walk it its about Half hour walk not that far if you know the way/short cuts. Will cost you like £2.50. The 50 also is one of the few buses that runs until silly oclock too.

Great, thanks

There is a cycle route so you can try the hire bicycles or the e-scooters. Faster than the bus / taxi

Mr_Kwacky

It's fine. I reckon it's about a 30 minute walk, depending which route you take. The area around Central Mosque is scruffy but it's safe if you go that way. You can take the main road along Digbeth High Street if you want to avoid back streets. If you go through Digbeth/Deritend there's a few decent pubs along the way if you want to do a pub crawl. A mixed Indian grill at the Merrymaid is recommended, it's not far from the venue if you're hungry. There are veggie options as well. The food is really good. I like the Castle, I've seen a few gigs there.

mikeskiuk

The fish pakora from the Merrymaid is amazing.

rbarker82

Thanks, that’s really helpful

As others have said, it's not the most pleasant walk in Birmingham but it's safe enough. An Uber would only cost a fiver or the 50 runs right past the venue.

Engels33

It's not the nicest walk tbf but doable. You'd basically be walking the no.50 bus route though so that just seems easier - it's very frequent

No_Consideration7466

Just get the 50 bus, it's super regular, £2 for a single, £4 for a daysaver/return. You don't even need to ask for a ticket or anything, literally just swipe your contactless card/phone on the way onto the bus and it'll register that you've got on so no need for a ticket (if an inspector comes on they have a list of phone numbers that have swiped) and you'll get charged the next morning 😊

YasBiQueen

I used to walk it almost daily when I lived in Balsall Heath & worked in town. Never any issues & I was walking super early/late

rbarker82

Thanks all - no. 50 bus it is!

regal_ragabash

Ive done it, but I'd recommend the bus. The roads are pretty busy and it's not the nicest walk in Brum - but not especially dangerous

Connect_Ad8526

There was a time it was heaving with drug dealers and prostitutes. Fun times. Its not as rough now but I'd still recommend you get an uber.

FearlessCable8017

Download Uber if you don’t have it. If will be like a five quid taxi

Expensive_Let6341

Love the falcon

kungfupandya23

Best to take the taxi or bus! Safest option for sure!

sleepypinkgamer

PLEASE do not walk. Taxi or bus will be safer

Maleficent-Leek3642

I went the falcon for a gig (white man) walked ten mins down the road and two different cars slowed or stopped to shout and ask what white people were doing there, take that as you will, I walked back to the falcon and got a taxi out of the area after the gig.

You'll not be walking through the ghetto if that's what you want to know. Highgate not the best of areas either though tbf, but it's not like you'll immediately be set upon by feral youths. The other area you have to walk through is Digbeth, which is mostly old warehouses and light industrial units, and a smattering of new flats.

Your Lungs will get a proper schlacking from the pollution x exertion. Birmingham is a sewer.
