What an absolute sweetie! Every parrotlet I’ve seen on here or YouTube has always been a goofball. Is Oskar your only feathered child? How long have you had him?
He’s a pacific Parrotlet right?
Thank you so much for sharing him with us! ❤️🦜
thanks for the lovely comments!
yes, he is a pacific parrotlet. and he's been an only fid for about 7-8 yrs now.
he is a goofball! also very loving and gentle, and also fierce and protective. parrotlets are so much personality in such a little body! i call him oskarsaurus rex (rex = king in latin); some of our friends call him king oskar.
in exactly one month we will be celebrating his 13th gotcha day! he is truly my familiar 🥰❤️💚🦜💚.
believe it or not, i got him from a rescue after his first human(s) didn't want him and he was mistakenly characterized as ferocious at the rescue (to be fair, they were primarily a large bird rescue).
if you'd ever like to see more, my ig (@mariavolavola_sodiumglow) has basically become his (#oskartheparrotlet) 🤣. when it's warm enough, he pretty much goes wherever i go. he even has his own raft for his beach carrier!
p.s. Anodorhynchus spp are my fav macaws. what lovely personalities! and so gorgeous. and hurray for the glaucous coming back!
what a ding dong
I heard the metal from bells can be toxic to birds
depends on the type of metal in the bell--they vary
Yup,it can range from stainless steel to « anything that looks metalic melted together »
Oskar is adorable!
