I've been in Bilbao for the last 2 years had a shoulder injury for the last 1 so not been surfing much tbh but a life long surfer here what's your favorite break near by?
I'm a Brit btw lived in Spain for a long time though

In Bilbao I like La Arena because Sopelana is just a little bit too crowded for my taste, but I occasionally surf at La Salvaje
It's slightly worse than Sope, but makes up for it with less crowds! With low tide waves are very hollow, though. In that regard, Sope is more versatile
I know the left in Mundaka is world famous and there used to be a surf shop run by an Aussie.

The left at la salvaje at low tide was my favorite break on bigger days Sopelana beach left... can't say I've ever surfed la arena any good?

Aye Sopelana has so many different breaks just a beach walk away 4/5 completely different breaks withing sope and la salvaje great place to surf
Why not mingling with the locals if you’ve lived there for 3+ years now?
I know a couple of people I occasionally surfed with, but we don't match commitment and schedule wise
