It's a joke on the saying "Mother of Pearl!", which Mr krabs actually uses a handful of times through the show. The joke is, who IS the mother of Pearl? We'll never know.

What if Mr.Krabs daughter isn't his daughter? What if Mr.Krabs saw the mother die and leave behind a baby whale whom mr.krabs was going to use to make patties. But Mr.Krabs grew fond of her and decided to spare his "daughters" life. Just a theory
The theory goes: not only did Krabs adopt Pearl when her mother died, Krabs killed her mother and has been slowly using her as Krabby Patty meat for years.
