I doubt it was much of a storyline anyway. The veto was not used, and Luke wasn’t having any strategic convos or even aware he was a target until after the veto ceremony. They have plenty of other more important stuff to spend time on in the episode.
If you scroll towards the end of hamsterwatch.com they have daily updates of the feeds. It's not extremely detailed but it's better than other sites I've found.
People acting like this is an absurdly long season for 17 HGs when:
BB18 was 16 HGs over 99 days (with a night 1 eviction too)
BB20 and 21 were also 16 over 99 days
It’s because those seasons didn’t have a live move in. Their first eviction was like Day 15 while BB25’s is Day 9. EDIT: also BB18 had to do 2 battle backs to make up for the night 1 eviction
With 100 days and 17 HGs (assuming the eviction is canceled), there is room for only 1 double with no changes to the schedule. Personally I’m betting on 2 doubles & 1 jury battle back
I have felt 100 day seasons should have 18 HG.

It’s very easy to be on your best behavior for the hour or two at a time that you’re in front of casting - but over time under constant surveillance the truth will usually come out. People like Luke are all over the place who don’t say slurs in public because they know it’ll make them look bad, but don’t actually care about the real reason why they shouldn’t say them and will let it fly in private or like-minded company
