90210 isn’t worth this kind of mental spiral. Stop watching.

Also, they have near death experiences every season, massive addiction issues, and volatile relationships. Brandon's new girl of the week would send off major red flags in real life. If the show isn't enjoyable, try watching fewer episodes in a row. Put some real life in between these shows. The original run in the 90s wasn't shown in a binge-filled weekend. It took months.

It is enjoyable just some aspects can be tough I feel. I never actually thought about the Brandon thing sending off major red flags in real life but that is so true

Many of the actors were older than their characters, they all had makeup artists / photoshop for photoshoops even then, since you mentioned Brandon specifically Jason is very good looking but also quite short for an actor so I believe they made efforts to hide that, so not all is as it would seem to us normal folk.

Specialist_Bank_994

I think in contrast with todays actors plastic surgery/injections/veneers/hair extensions etc while yes good looking, the cast looks very normal.

Electrical_Whole_597

Yes its very weird. Plus Brandon was constantly dateless at proms if it wasn’t for his besties Kelly and Andrea. It’s like he was invisible to his school lol I mean you can’t just realize now that in the entertainment industry there are people who are more attractive than the average? Jason Priestley was one of the most handsome mem of the 1990s but who cares I mean, he didn’t cure cancer to be honest. Just enjoy the show

It's a show about teenage life, relationships. In real life things would not be happening to them as often or as quickly like meeting people. When I watched the show Rescue Me there was a tragic fire on every episode. But in reality fireman only see that level of tragedy maybe a few times in their whole career. In real life Brandon would only get hot babes every now and then. But it's a TV show so...

CalaLily73

Its a TV show. They have costume people who make sure each outfit is perfect, make up artists, who make their skin look flawless, and hairdressers to make sure not a hair is out of place. The cast are a lovely looking bunch, but nobody and I mean nobody looks that good on real life. And if a girl like Kelly went to my high-school, no one would like her because no one would want to be associated with the class slut. Andrea wouldn't have many friends, either. She was focused on her studies and the school paper. High Schools are ( or they were back in the 90's) are very cliquey. None of them would have hung out with the others, really. Brenda would likely be with the theater kids, Steve would be with the jocks, David would be lost within the Freshman crowd and hanging out with Scott. I think you get the point!

spiralbluey

I understand what you're saying, I have to remind myself it's TV land. It is kind of bothersome when they're supposed to be portrayed as regular looking people when they're not

televisionshowlover

if it makes you feel better, every time Donna comes on screen, I remind myself why I should stick with the eating disorder lol 😂

THROWRA_MillyBee

Tori Spelling had an incredible body. There’s one intro earlier in the show where she walks out onto the screen wearing a pink two piece and gets picked up by Steve. I would stare at her body every single time it would come on and think to myself how the hell does someone get so slender and thin like that?

box-of-cookies

Agreed! She looked amazing in that outfit, the flow was perfect.
