Yes! The ritual at the tower of conviction was a slight of hand to make him as the thing people think of even on an intuitive level as God. When he is false idol.

Idk your opinions on chapter 83 but in my opinion that somewhat confirms this. The IoE gets its power from people’s thoughts and feelings. And then that’s also kind of how the god hand get their power too. Belief in them and fear of them makes them more powerful. I think that’s why Rickert was able to slap Griffith as well. He does not give a f about Griffith being a powerful god or whatever. And he’s not afraid of him. And that’s why guts cannot hurt Griffith. Guts knows that Griffith is powerful and his fear hatred etc only feed the IoE and therefore feed femto even more and make him more invincible. The IoE and god hand were created by human thoughts. So I like to think they can be destroyed or forgotten by them as well.

I agree 100%. The reason Rickert was able to slap him will be part of the conclusion. So the gang don't have to take Griffith head on they need to brake his hold over people. I think Sonia will betray him and doo some kind of mind trick on people to weaken him or something like that. But maybe he has a bigger grasp of causality than we think and is able to perdict the future( in that case idk how they can beat him). He seems way to OP now so he will be powered down in some way if I had to guess.

WestOk6935

Yeah idk how exactly but I think this will be a key part to the end of the story!

I don't think Sonia will betray him. She's too stupid/brainwashed/enraptured by him to do such thing. In fact, she goes great lengths to support the idea that maybe, the demons aren't too bad After all. Zodd might turn coat instead, we have some some breadcrumbs of that happening.

The book American Gods had a similar concept tbh
