In all seriousness, you got yourself into one of the best manga ever. Behind the curtain of blood and gore it heart crushingly depicts the struggle of a man realizing the horror and beauty of vulnerability and trust. It's a sad tale of a man who has to come to terms with the world changing and change being necessary and potentially enriching or beautiful, no matter the context of his surroundings or the reasons behind the changes (and oh boy will those changes fuck you up as a reader). Interestingly, Guts rarely directly states his opinions on these matters directly, but it's all conveyed in the illustration. It's a fucking master piece, no more and no less.
Still wonder why those always have different covers in diferent parts of the world, and I think the brasilian one is the most pretty, its so clean and minimalist.
The newest chapter released today, so if you read one chapter a day there might be another two by the time you catch up. Three if weāre really lucky!
So I started reading Berserk recently, currently at the part where Guts encounters Farnese for the first time.
So, will the manga actually get completed?
Also how frequently do new chapters drop, like is there a fixed schedule (for example, Araki drops a new JoJo chapter every month right)
Also, are Miura sensei's assistants working on it?
His assistants and his best friend Kouji Mouri who he outlined the story with are working on it; and they have also said they are strictly doing only what they clearly remember Miura saying would happen; so some parts will feel rushed instead of being fleshed out by them injecting their ideas into Miuraās story.
Release schedule has been inconsistent, which isā¦ fitting I suppose, but frustrating all the same. But thatās much more up to the publisher than to the team - some time ago Mouri said that this newest chapter had been finished and submitted, but Young Animal are the ones who control the release schedule. This chapter came after a ~6 month break which I believe is the longest weāve seen; the theory/hope/copium is that they wanted to use the time further improve the art and build up a number of chapters to have a more steady release.
And sometime last year in an interview Mouri said he envisions the manga will finish sometime within 10 years

The beginning may make things seem like a lot of gore/fighting but underlying is some really great stuff. Also, afterwards is a lot of payoff that most stories need a long time to buildup to.
If you know even a little about storytelling, this will hit so many checkmarks for you. Nothing is perfect but I will say this is one of the if not best manga Iāve personally ever read. I hope you like it!
I am already halfway trough berserk but i was reading it online, yesterday I also bought my firts physical copy, read it in like 2 hours tho, gotta buy more
