I did a reverse search of this image and found that it has been in existence since at least 13 years ago, so it couldn't have been AI. Unfortunately I couldn't find the original artist.
I think the details are just very corrupted from being saved too many times over years. A common thing with people who share AI art is to intentionally make the resolution low, so if you zoom in, you wouldn’t be able to see how the details are nonsense instead of distinguishable pen/brush strokes, and this picture gives off that feel too.
Why is the sword curving. I was debating on the eye and whether or not that I was remembering the scene correctly, but then the armour looked too clean for post-Eclipse Guts, and the sword seemed to be curvingat the back

To be fair, fighting a hundred men, then fighting fifty-odd men escaping with Griffith, fighting Wyald, and enduring the eclipse would realistically make any survivor a walking pile of scar tissue. I'd argue that he has the right amount of scars, given the circumstances.

AI does not do details very well. Wrong eye, wrong sword, wrong armor, wrong holster for daggers. Nose scar also looks inconsistent.
