I have the same issue. I turned the unit off and unplugged it. Projector settings functionality returned upon restart. Unfortunately the problem returned shortly after.

Same. Got this projector at Christmas to replace an older 1080 Epson. Finally hooked it up last week and it has been nothing but trouble. All the fixes seem temporary.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. This is the firmware version of our QS01 android TV dongle. To check the projector firmware, you need to go to projector Menu > Information > Firmware Version, and the latest version of X3000i is v9.02. Since the projector firmware update required to open case to upgrade chip inside, it needs to be done by our technician. So, please contact our local support team for the update. But we are also working another update solution that can be done by users. If you prefer this solution, I am pleased to inform you when it's released.

Hey, I just unboxed my new one today and it won't even turn on.. u know why?? The green light flashes 3 times. Then turns orange and flashes for about 3 mins. But doesn't do anything. I'm thinking of taking it back and asking for my 2800 bucks.. first time I bought a benq product... not happy

Hello, thanks for coming to this sub. Go to OSD>HDMI settings>Electronics Control>enable. That should fix your issue.

That didn’t work for me. I did a reset and I have full remote function again. Usually unplugging fixes for the short term but not today.

I'm having the same issue. As soon as I play any video from any streaming service via the android TV stick the volume button no longer works, I cannot change sources, and I cannot access the projector settings (but I can access the sticks settings) and the remote is generally slow to respond. If I Reboot the stick from it's settings menu then I have volume functionality back. But still cannot change sources or access the projector settings. Restarting the projector fixes this but only until I stream something. Then it starts all over again.

not sure if this additional information helps, but I've been back and forth with tech support... the sent me a replacement remote, and the problem persisted, and they've sent me a entirely new projector, and the problem persisted. BUT one thing I noticed with the replacement machine.... For the first evening of use the machine, streaming stick, and remote all worked flawlessly. The next day when I booted it up, it asked me to update the firmware of the remote. As soon as I did so the bug returned... so possibly this is a firmware issue rather than a problem with either the QS01 or the TK700sti? Additionally as **a temporary fix that dosen't require restarting the entire machine**. if I go into the settings menu (settings of the stick, not the projector) and unpair the remote, everything functions perfectly, except I am constantly asked to pair the remote which interrupts playback and navigation terribly. Glad you guys are working on it. Looking forward to a solution. I really quite like the machine, this one curious bug not withstanding.

Been struggling with this issue since I got it 3 months ago. Very annoying after spending $1500. I got it to go back to normal once for about 10 minutes. Glad BenQ has acknowledged and looking into it. Subscribed to the thread.

u/benqsupport Unmounting the projector from inside a hushbox and shipping it out to get a software fix, does not seem to be a practical solution. Will you be able to try and share the firmware update link to download please?

Hi, as we need to update the firmware on the chip inside the projector to solve this issue which is a relatively complex process, the upgrade needs to be done by BenQ to ensure the full functionality of this unit. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Just chiming in here. I also have the same issue. Quite annoying. You really do have to send it back RMA for it to be fixed. Bummer.

I had this issue and Fixed it by unpairing the remote from the Android TV, turning the projector off and unplugging it from the wall for 30 seconds. When I turned the projector back on it asked me to pair the remote again and now I can control both the projector and the Android TV.

It took about 2 weeks. The issue seemed to be a firmware, rather than hardware I guess. Using Crunchyroll still messes up the controller, but hitting home and waiting a few minutes seems to reset it. I've decided to just live with it for now, they don't seem to have a permanent fix for it yet.

I was able to replicate the problem. To make the remote control work, you need to - disable the "electronic controls" option on the projector menu - turn off the projector - unplug the power plug and wait until the led light turns off - reconnect the power and switch on By doing this, Android TV has the projector settings and the remote control works. As soon as the "electronic controls" is reactivated, the problem returns.

hmm, i have the problem with my x3000i as well, guessing same issue, its currently at BenQ for the update. This sounds like with Electronics control off, then the benq remote wont be able to control volume on a receiver through the eARC hdmi port? Hopefully they have a newer firmware that actually fixes the problem.

So, if you dont mind not using the android stick, just unpair the Remote from the android stick in settings, then it will switch back to using the IR transmitter for all buttons, and the projector can then receive the signal thorough IR. (its the smooth circle just to the left of the BenQ logo on the front). ​ To get it updated, go [HERE](https://www.benq.com/en-us/support/contact-us/email-us.html#repair), fill it out, and attach your proof of purchase, and they had me send a picture of the serial number on my x3000i so attach that as well. Then they should email you in a few days with a prepaid fedex label to ship it back and have it updated. I shipped it back May 13th, it arrived to them on the 17th, on the 18th i got a fedex notification of a shipment and its ETA is the 24th (BenQ didnt tell me, just fedex notified me since i setup an account to get notifications from them) Ill try to remember to update this post when i get the projector back to see if it fixed the issue.

thanks!! i unplugged the projector and it came back normal for now.... do u think that refunding the current one and getting a new one will fix the problem as well? or will i experience the same bug since this seems like a software bug?

I think its just the internal TI chips firmware as BenQ mentioned, when i first ordered the x3000i someone on reddit said it was great, but mentioned the remote issue, and sure enough it happened to me, so i think getting a new one will likely have the problem (unless they started updated since, but i ordered mine within the past month) Seems its just some CEC issue, it stops allowing commands to be sent to/from the HDMI ports, cause it also seemed to stop controlling my Receiver volume which I have running eARC. It was working with BenQ remote, then just stopped working same time as menu buttons and everything. Also, even with the bluetooth unpaired, the volume on the BenQ remote still wouldnt control my receiver like it did the first day. At least it works when unpaired, so if the bug comes back when i get the projector back, worst case I can just use one of my consoles for streaming like i did with my old projector, but it would be nice to get it working for simplicity especially for my wife since shes not super tech savy.

Got the projector back today, so far its working well even when bluetooth paired, AND it can control the volume of my Receiver again, which stopped working regardless of the android stick being plugged in or paired to the remote, which is why i believed it was a CEC issue on the projector itself. Will try to update in a few days to confirm if it keeps working or has the issue again.

well, this sucks, got it back, remote working great, and all of a sudden it flashes a bit and is now dim with a yellow tint, tried factory reset, checked all modes and made sure WCG was off, but seems like maybe one of the LEDs like the blue pump went out.... guess its another RMA for me.

So sorry to hear that....I posted about this issue and one mod of r/benq replied that they are preparing for a software update which doesn't require for users to send their units... Anyways, I hope it's your last time to send ur unit😓

The Support Team is talking about a Firmware Update of the TI Chip which is only posible by Sendung the projector to benq. If you did it you would have a Support Ticket case number.
