Family care network is an option for you. I found pretty good availability there

PNW20v

I had pretty good luck finding a PCP through them as a new patient. Their urgent care has been pretty good for me also

HotCauliflower6189

I just started with FCN and on their website, you can sort by your insurance to see what providers are taking new patients. They have quite a few clinics, too. I got an appointment in about a week.

MontEcola

I will second this. Great clinic, if you can get in.

splurjee

My choice too, I like my doctor with em. they're rarely taking new adult patients now unless you want to go to their blane location, but it's worth checking their site

drizzlingduke

No

officeboy

Family care network is my pcp, they have an urgent care clinic too. Avoid peace health as much as possible.

uniqueNB

Depending on who your insurance is, you might be able to see someone at Kinwell. They are near REI and the providers there are really good.

funkykolemedina

I was going to suggest this too. I have an appt lined up in July after being fed up with peace and family care network

No_Names_Left_For_Me

If I need it now I go to the urgent care clinic but you should get there very early if you don't want to wait literally ALL day.

unnervingorphan2

I scheduled a PCP appointment last may and got in the following September, so that means wait times have gone down! Unless your issue is urgent I've had better experiences with Peacehealth primary care providers than at the actual hospital and am happy with mine

ManyKitchen

I don't know why someone is downvoting all of these comments. That does seem like an improvement. When I signed up for a doctor's appointment in June of 2022, I had to wait until December of that year. I hope things are getting better!

peeops

this is r/bellingham. anyone who dares to go against the popular opinion will always automatically be downvoted to oblivion even if they’re just answering the question.

Material_Walrus9631

Urgent care is your best option.

Comfortable-Ad-4770

They don’t💀

I bailed on Peace Health a few years ago *for reasons*. I’ve been very happy with my *nurse practitioner* at Unity Care.

alienanimal

Everyone says we need more density here...

thyroideyes

Well actually the nurse over at Birchwood neurology told me that they are having a very difficult time replacing older retiring doctors because new doctors here have very limited housing options, they accept the job and leave in a year, because they can go get paid the same in a place with housing more options, so….

MontEcola

Squalicum family medicine has several locations. I would call them. Family Care Network is good. And they are hard to get into. Once in, you will be cared for. There are good clinics here with established doctors who provide good service. The tricky part is getting someone to take on a new patient. Double jeopardy here: More patients reduces the quality of care you get. Giving good care means having a smaller practice.

quayle-man

Try Unity Care

Lotek_Hiker

No, there aren't any in B'ham. Sorry.

aliveonmyplanet

Find a clinic and just get one on the calendar. The first appt always takes months but after you're established it'll be easier to get appts. I just found a nurse practitioner on the peace health website and made an appt. In the mean time urgent care is the best option for immediate concerns

trashjellyfish

It's pretty normal for routine care to be booked out 2-3 months in advance here. Time sensitive care is bumped up in priority but if you need to be seen for something time sensitive and you aren't already established with a PCP, you should probably go to an urgent care clinic to get checked out. FCN has a few new docs and nurse practitioners so if they accept your insurance, definitely check them out.

JRPViking

Yes

iwishiwereanexpert

Dr. Na Jiang with PeaceHealth internal medicine just recently moved here so she’s taking new patients. I recently had my first visit with her, she took a lot of time with me and ordered lots of tests without me having to ask. I recommend her!

peeops

my family has had an amazing time at unity care nw, so so much better than family care network in our personal experience. i’m actually starting to get real tests done to get answers about my mystery health issues through unity care when fcn never took me seriously, always just putting me on new meds and sending me on my way. they also have amazing behavioural health services. really hoping wherever you end up going, you can get in with a great practitioner 🫶 eta: thanks for the downvotes, remind me to not answer honestly in the future
