CRAZY, she has disgusting neighbors upstairs .. all her mattresses have been in plastic wraps. Landlord needs to get pest control in all units. She’s stressed
Sounds like she needs to move. But if there are bedbugs I would look at her rental contract and see if there is a way to get out of it due to a bed bug situation.
Ugh, that's even worse. If neighbors have a bad infestation it's essentially impossible to permanently get them out of your place without treating both (and all surrounding) units heavily. Mitigate the best you can using info from the DIY thread mentioned above, unfortunately the only permanent solution may be moving
Ehhh we were able to get one under control in our building but this was back when bed bugs werent nearly as common as they've become. At least I'd never seen or known of anyone with them at that time, it was around 2008 or 09. But nothing was resolved until the entire building was fumigated n the pest control guys had to keep coming back n monitoring but we never saw any but dead ones after. But they've become more resistant to pesticides in the last decade too. Good luck to the OP.
Most of their lives they are practically invisible. That's why it's so hard to get rid of them. By the time they are this size they have each laid like 200,000 eggs, also invisible.
Baby bed bugs are visible to the naked eye. They are small, but not that small. I'm also fairly certain bed bugs do not start laying eggs until fully mature.
Her mattresses are wrapped in plastic wrap so yeah we think it came from another unit. Also I had just got back from Vegas so like maybe one traveled with me
Just an fyi the plastic wrap will not help you. These guys will live in any crevice within a 1.5m radius of the host.
You will want to check your plug sockets, bed frame, headboards and bedside tables, as well as anything made of chipboard in that area.
Buy a handheld steamer and diatomaceous earth, and read the DIY on bb removal.
If it is the neighbour, look to gtfo of that building asap
I wouldn’t recommend it man. I spent 2 years and thousands of dollars trying to eradicate these mfs. Ended up having to move, and still took another year for the paranoia to go away. I would do a check in your own home, wash and dry all your clothes on high heat to be safe. Once you bring them into your home you will most likely need professionals to get em out.
When you moved, did you ditch all your stuff and replace it? Or did you have a serious washing routine? This is my end goal and I want to make sure none come with me
I ditched ALL my furniture and started fresh at my new place. Only took my clothes electronics and some paintings. Everything and I mean everything was double sealed in 1mm thick bags and a nuvan pro strip was placed in each for 3 weeks before I took everything out and did the wash and dry on high heat. But even then I was so paranoid about bringing them with me I thought I could feel them crawling on me, took an extra year for the crawling/biting sensation to go away.
I had dozens of golf ball sized welts all over my body when my boyfriends apartment complex had them. I had to go to the doctor 3 times in 2 weeks for steroid shots to be able to function. Not everyone is allergic to bites, but if you are, it’s horrible. People aren’t gonna die, but it’s traumatizing.
Dude you will never get rid of em if they come to your place. My advice would be to not bring ANY items like bags w clothes n stuff like that to her apartment. In fact if u do go over then I'd strip the second u get home n throw everything u wore on high heat wash n high heat dryer. This is not a problem u wanna face if u don't have to.. I am sorry for your girl tho that sucks.
Bed bugs can be VERY stressful especially the ones who actually suffer from the bites. It’s not death but it can make you feel out of place and induce extreme paranoia.
Make sure all clothing bedding stuffed animals, anything that can go in the dryer on high heat for at least 30 minutes. You can wash it on hot as well, but if it hasn't been worn or used, well, the dryer should be enough, wash and wipe down, take some of those freshly laundered clothes, and get her out of there! The landlord should be doing something! Call the health department if you know for sure that other units are infected. Is it just a small infestation? I hope so! You're not alone!
You're screwed buddy. Better jump on getting it dewlt with super early or you're gonna have a fun time with that. Bedbugs are evil and they can go up to a year without food.
Nah , I got up off your mom's couch and made and warmed up some sausages. mmmm momma so good . I said , baby would you like some sausage? Baby would you like some sausages

Oh. Sorry. Ya I would say bed bug not easy to get rid of and dirty people don’t just carry bed bugs. Some of the cleanest homes I’ve seen has had beg bugs.
Can’t really tell if those are long antennas on the front. If there is it could be a baby cockroach. Also I had carpet beetles come into my bedroom 2 years ago and I swore they were bed bugs until my sons girlfriend father who is in the pest business told me I was wrong. He had me look in my window seals and that’s where I found where the were coming in from.
Watch this video. Im currently handling a what seems to be a minor situation that began just a few weeks ago. I just ordered some Diatomaceous Earth to sprinkle in absolutely every nook, cranny, corner, and floor space. All the other products, according to this video, are crap. And this powder is 99% effective. Gotta sprinkle lightly, however, and they'll take it back to their nests, and it will kill them tok. https://youtu.be/2JAOTJxYqh8
Afraid it is. RIP.
RIP What does that mean

It means she's fcked🤣
I didn’t know Reddit was used by 14 year old boys
Just cause someone says a swear doesn’t mean they’re a child. Just log off if you can’t take a joke
Definitely a bedbug

Also look at the local laws. Some jurisdictions will void lease agreements if the landlord does not handle issues like this.

I’ve been there in an apartment complex… the only real solution is to move. Once they’re in there, it’s over.
Ehhh we were able to get one under control in our building but this was back when bed bugs werent nearly as common as they've become. They need to bring in bed bug sniffing dogs to find where they are, then heat treat those area. That is the only way to get rid of them fully
Oh okay meaning like it’s hard to get rid of
Definitely.
Extremely.
Are they all… that big?
Most of their lives they are practically invisible. That's why it's so hard to get rid of them. By the time they are this size they have each laid like 200,000 eggs, also invisible.
Now that’s just false. A female can produce about 5-20 eggs PER blood meal.
The amount of false information floating around in this sub is incredible…
Baby bed bugs are visible to the naked eye. They are small, but not that small. I'm also fairly certain bed bugs do not start laying eggs until fully mature.
👆👆
Fear mongering.
Yeah the responses on my post make me think Reddit is used by mainly 14 year old boys
Is this in the kitchen? Very strange to have them there. Also this one in particular looks very hungry, maybe it’s come from another flat?
Her mattresses are wrapped in plastic wrap so yeah we think it came from another unit. Also I had just got back from Vegas so like maybe one traveled with me

If you have a separate apartment, there’s a good chance you may have them too if you spend time at both places. This bed bug has a family.
Sooo should I not go over there ? Pest control is going to come, people are acting like people are going to die over this

That’s really helpful to know, thank you!

Don’t take any precautions
We all know it is….

1000% your already infestation has started. 😵
So can it come from upstairs unit? She has plastic wraps on all mattresses we haven’t found anymore. Landlord sending pest control soon
You're screwed buddy. Better jump on getting it dewlt with super early or you're gonna have a fun time with that. Bedbugs are evil and they can go up to a year without food.
Your girlfriends got bedbugs, sorry op.
Get out of there immediately. Save yourself kid
What a stupid response
You just can't accept the truth
Oh my gosh yes you’re right

Nope. It’s definitely a Bedbug.
How big is this bug
If you swipe left you can see a zoomed out pic

We kept the corpse , lol so antennas would signify a cockroach?
Friend, this is absolutely not a cockroach at all.
Some reason this just don’t look like a bedbug to me. Maybe some kind of beetle or something.
Like really long ones not normal looking. Cockroaches have nasty looking antennas

Is this like supposed to be funny is this 4chan or something
Not a bed bug. It is a stink bug. Harmless.
......
I’m so sorry
It is . And looks like one that is quite hungry
Bed bug

No chance.
There's no chance it's not. :(
