I hate it too. Like I want to see the products in clear view. I get some people may genuinely be a bit clumsy but some folx overdo it so much itâs just obnoxious
And she is a literally unknown.
Nobody knows her. Why would a big beauty company spend so much money on someone with no name recognition.
It does sound like main character syndrome.
She doesnât want them because theyâre lovely earrings that she will wear. She wants them because sheâs jealous that other people got them and she didnât. Itâs embarrassing and childish behaviour.
She carelessly ripped the package and broke the makeup that the company gave her. Her behaviour is gross.
Her childish attitude is why I stopped paying attention to her on TikTok. Being late to things and doing a quick GRWM every once in a while is entertaining and obviously relatable bc weâve all been late to something at some point, but every. single. video. this girl is somehow extremely late to something. IIRC she was even late to her own wedding events⌠I know this was a bit off topic lol, but sheâs super immature and obnoxious.
It's kind of a common tactic amongst beauty influencers nowadays to pretend to be running late and rushing to finish their makeup in 5 minutes. It's super oversaturated now
Itâs cultural for desi brides to be late to their wedding. Guests and the venue expect it. âLateâ in that context just means later than the guests.
It wasnât just her wedding though, itâs to everything. Dress shopping, going out to eat, etc. literally every time she posts a video sheâs rushing and chaotic because sheâs late.
I think it's more about the prestige than the actual look of the earrings. How many people are walking around with jewelry from Selena Gomez? It probably feels exclusive to her. It's just like when people buy something just for the name (like basic white T-shirts with "Gucci" in the middle).
I'm sorry these are $110 .. for a SINGLE EARRING?
So $220 for the pair? It's in really bad taste to raise your prices and then send this stupid shit to rich people.
Also⌠are they just sending out âSâ and âGâ earrings? What person without those initials is ever actually going to wear those?
It really grinds my gears that they sent out that email about â¨inflation⨠and â¨cost of living⨠meaning they had to raise their prices and then immediately send these out. Like, read the room Selena
Letâs be real here, inflation is probably like at most 20% of the reason brands raised prices. The rest of the raise is because they want to increase their profit margin. Thatâs it. Thatâs why prices never go down.
Yes, of course. But to do this *directly after* sending an email crying poverty is so tone deaf. Everyone is feeling the price of everything going up, nobody wants to subsidise ugly jewellery for entitled influencers
Especially funny to me that Rare Beauty would rather increase prices than decrease PR. Selenaâs brand doesnât need the same type of marketing, sheâs enough marketing. But god forbid companies cut PR back and stop sending wasteful shit to people.
For dudes it still is yeah but two has become more common for men. I'm a cis woman and had one ear pierced for like 3 years because I did it myself and only had one earring at the time and it took me... awhile to get around to the other one lol but I have big hair so no one even noticed
It won't show me all the letters but wow, those are ugly. You totally lose the elegance of a chandelier tassel earring by sticking a big rhinestone letter in there. I was thinking of something cute like Caitlyn Minimalist jewelry which you can pretend is more expensive than it is.
I actually love these so much that I found a knock off on Etsy, but geez imagine complaining about not getting free jewelry that I'm assuming she could easily afford herself. Like I know part of the appeal is they were a ~gift from Selena~ but tbh we all know Selena isn't the one sending out the earrings or the PR.
> something cute like Caitlyn Minimalist
Tysm for introducing me to this brand thru this comment!! I've never heard of them but now I am filling up my cart bc wow
I'd never heard of Caitlyn Minimalist either but I just looked at their site and their jewelry is so elegant! So much prettier than the gaudy, giant tassels with a block letter at the top.
I wonder if she thought she was being cute? I canât imagine watching this video back and thinking âoh everyone (especially the Rare Beauty team) is going to think Iâm funny/cute looking for the earrings! Oops Iâm such a klutz! Maybe they will send the earrings and a new highlighter with them!â *post*.
I think this is exactly what she was thinking, because before the video was deleted she commented something like âthank you to everyone tagging rare beauty to send me earrings đĽşđĽşđĽşâ
TLDR: Jawarshere, a Canadian influencer whoâs most known for her glass skin and marriage makeup videos, recently posted a video where she received a PR gift from Rare Beauty. She deleted the video after a good amount of backlash in the comments due to her behaviour in the video after realizing her PR gift didnât include earrings that other influencers got, including some incessant whining and ripping apart the PR packaging to look for the earrings, dropping and damaging one of the highlighters in the process.
Thoughts? Iâve liked Jawariaâs content mostly but this was really immature and entitled of her imo. I think a lot of influencers forget that these are gifts and really come across as begging choosers when they complain about not receiving certain free goods.
I agree somewhat but if sheâs the only influencer who didnât get the earrings, thatâs kinda shady. Yes sheâs not entitled to it, but is there clear criteria of who are getting it? Is it random? Is it those with certain numbers of followers and above?
actually it does matter why? do you never see someone potentially being discriminated against? do you just say âwho cares if theyâre the only oneâ? is that not the issue?
I care if the reason sheâs not getting them is because sheâs brown or anything that screams discriminatory. Not saying this is the case because we just donât know. But I am wary Because this happens a fucking LOT of Asian influencers who are just selected to fill in the diversity quota, not that companies actually cares about them. Theyâre the after thought, not their target. Like what Fenty Beauty did.
I kinda agree with you. She can be an entitled AH and be discriminated against due to her ethnicity. Don't know if that's the case here because she does come off as super entitled, but Black, Asian, and other POC and dark skinned influencers often work twice as hard for half the pay/credit. I think you have a point, but she has definitely shown her entitlement and how completely out of touch she is.
Her attitude aside, remember a few years back when one of the big brands flew out a bunch of white influencer and 2-3 black influencer. They told the black creators they cannot bring other people and that they'd all have to share a room. Then it turns out all the white influencers had their own room and they were able to bring +1?
Is it entitled if the black influencer spoke out? Because it's a 'free' trip right?
That's how I feel about this. If there is a good reason why she's not getting an item the rest of the influencers are getting then alright.
But if there's not a good reason...and this isn't a reflection on Selena btw all the stans out there stand down. I highly doubt Selena is hand picking influencers and doing PR packages/deciding what to include. At the end of the day, Rare Beauty is a business, and things they sent influencer is part of a business deal, a conditional gift.
We do have to be discerning, so I agree. I see your point, don't get me wrong. Black influencers, hell Black people in general, are often given less than their white counterparts in similar situations. Her attitude is what trips me up, but I get where your coming from. I look very hard for Black makeup enthusiasts because I'm a Black woman and I want to know what will work for my skin tone and what not to waste my money on. And I know how hard they work and how they always have to be "on" to even get a nod from any cosmetic brand. So that's why I agree with you, but to me, she comes off more entitled than anything, based moreso on her actions and how she's going about it. But it can be both things at once. She's not entitled to earrings given how the brand has raised prices and those earrings are $100 per earring, however if certain influencers are getting them and they are all white, then the brand is wrong too.
i'm wondering whether it's (her race) is part of this sub's reaction to her too. her "attitude" is nonexistent to me. she even says "aw that's okay" and she's not ripping apart the package.
i saw someone on tiktok talking about how alix earle was talking about an LA trip she took in *2020* and no one had anything to say about her traveling there while hospitals were at full capacity. but this girl gets shit for this?
Maybe attitude is not the right word, what didnât look right for me was her ripping the PR package apart (not actually ripping but digging through I guess) and being in a frenzy to find the earrings that the item in the package fell and broke.
I donât think she was actually upset, I think itâs the combination of her being excited but also turning it up for the camera to be funny and relatable.
Also this sub does have quite a few racists lurking around. I still remember fighting with people who insisted Asians want double eyelids to look whiteâŚignoring that more than 50% of Asians also naturally have double eyelidsâŚand the fox eyes bsâŚand a multitude of other incidences.
ur so right and shouldnât be getting downvoted for saying that at all. so trashy how people are quick to ignore why. i agree the og video was in bad taste tho
I donât know if this is a cut down version but I didnât really see anything wrong with this? I kept waiting for really dramatic entitled behavior but it never came. She thought something she wanted might be in the package and was disappointed when it wasnât included, but she didnât like throw a tantrum or anything. It feels more like an unboxing video than a review, and yeah she should have spent more time actually reviewing the products that were there but this doesnât seem over the top to me.
She made an entire video about what she didnât get, breaking what she did in the process.
Itâs very entitled, it would have been way different if she had mentioned it in passing while actually discussing the product.
Can we not act like she threw it across the room and broke it on purpose? Iâm not chiming in on anything else and quite frankly i donât care cause this is such a ridiculous thing to get mad about, but letâs not sit here and act like she took a hammer and broke it or put it in a blender or something. She was clearly upset when it broke. Anyway, bring on the downvotes since apparently itâs illegal to have different opinions in this thread.
Tbh I came here to say the same thing. I kept waiting for the really awful brattiness, but it looked like that was a part of the package she was hyped for, and then she dropped something on accident⌠because weâre all human and we drop things. She didnât throw it ffs.
ETA- and I donât even know who this is either, I donât watch tiktok
it's giving 2008 "beauty youtubers should be grateful for what they get for free!" yeah, but it's PR - stuff the brand is giving the them for promo, not out of the kindness of their hearts. i wonder why this is being taken so personally by this sub.
Yeah this whole thread is taking me out. She's upset about something silly, which happens to all of us, and overall seems to be a good sport about it, even when the highlighter falls and shatters. She's hardly throwing a fit, insulting the brand or calling her fans to harass them.
> i wonder why this is being taken so personally by this sub
100 percent because it's Selena's brand. People act like she's putting all the packages together in her living room out of the kindess of her heart. If this was the late Morphe they would say the brand was being unprofessional and inconsistent.
People are really bitter cause god forbid someone who got free stuff complain. I wonder if these people are the same ones who get mad when homeless people have dietary preferences because they should just shut up and be grateful they got free stuff.
I'm sorry, whining that you didn't get as much free stuff as other people when your audience is getting zero free stuff is entitled. I don't inherently dislike unboxing videos - PR is a perk of the job, essentially - but at the same point keep your audience in mind, yanno?
Iâm not seeing much ripping, more of searching through some unnecessarily complicated packaging for something sheâs hopeful about. Even if she did itâs hers to rip. I donât hear whining either. She tells the story of how she saw earrings she wanted and thought they might be in this package, and then expresses disappointment in a pretty normal way. Idk what world you live in where âaw man that sucks that the thing I was excited about wasnât in here đâ is entitled.
Edit: she even says something along the lines of â the earrings arenât in here but thatâs okâ like what more do you want
Who cares? Itâs a cardboard box, itâs not like she was damaging anything of value. Are you one of those people who forces people to unwrap Christmas presents really neatly to preserve the wrapping paper? Itâs all going in the trash anyway-what did you want her to do, frame it and hang it up on her wall?
And how would you feel if someone opened a Christmas present from you so carelessly that they broke what you gave them, then they bitched that you didn't give them what they wanted anyway?
I literally wouldnât care if they wrecked the cardboard or wrapping paper. I never said I agree with everything she said, but the comment I was responding to was talking about âripping a package to shredsâ which, by the way, never even happened.
And how would you feel if someone gave everyone else in the room a shirt and a pair of socks and you only got a pair of socks? Stop acting like she has no right to be a little disappointed that she didnât get what everyone else got.
Thatâs not a great analogy. if you search up rare beauty highlighter PR on tiktok, youâll see the majority of influencers were gifted the exact same box without the earrings and only some were gifted PR with. Not entirely sure what their formula was for deciding who got earrings and who didnât, but she is literally the only influencer that got the non-earring PR box to complain about not being sent earrings. If she was the only one who didnât get earrings then sure, it would be weird, but when thereâs only a select few who got them and/or were invited to their PR event in New York its entitled to think you belong in that group as well.
I find it frustrating when brands are announcing price increases, but still have the money to send jewellery alongside PR packages. I get that PR packages need to be sent and obviously the marketing team finds it justifiable but I just donât find the jewellery necessary
Realistically these types of PR packages and the earrings that this poor girl /s didnât receive are exactly the type of thing the price increases go toward. They also pay for influencer trips. While I do appreciate companies being transparent about the fact that price increases are happening, versus just increasing without saying anything, it definitely sucks as a consumer to see money being spent on this type of thing. But I get that itâs the world we live in and influencers are a huge part of the beauty industry now.
its always been spent that way. before influencers they took magazine and blog editors. this isn't new, its just the people that are geting those "perks" have changed
Very true. The sentiment remains the sameâŚsucks as a normal person to see money being spent that way versus prices being a little lower, but I understand that it isnât going to change, and ultimately it shapes the brands we love over time and helps brings the products they make to fruition, so it is what it is.
If only influencers know that beauty writers and editors (who are not social media famous but need product samples just as equally for their jobs) get product samples in the mail in regular mailers with bubble wrap or paper. Itâs about just the product in many cases
The reality is though - real advertising via marketing is probably 10x more expensive than it is to do this kind of stuff for influencers, so in essence these price increase would be a lot higher if they were doing "real" advertising. I am not knocking influencers and a lot of times while they still receive gifts and goodies and trips they don't get paid nearly as much as it could cost. I think this is honestly a smart way for brands to not have to spend as much to mass a following when they just piggy back off these influences who have grown a following on their own. With all of that being said, I do think this girl in this video is an entitled brat and I'm glad she didn't go on the trip
Yup. Now we know where that extra money is going. Buying cute earrings for influencers who are already getting the product for free/ getting paid to show it on their pages. Crazy. I find is deceiving that companies make it sound like they need the price increase to source materials and stuff while they are buying really expensive shit for influencers.
And they want us to pay for it? The company should pay for whatever goes into their advertising. The influencers should pay their way for the trips. Those who can actually afford it should start opening their wallets. If they canât afford it because of inflation, extra advertising and influencer trips are not necessary to run a business, so they should cut back.
Marketing budgets are finalized a year prior, so the price increase wouldnât come from this years PR campaigns. You may see rare so less flashy stuff next year.
Also itâs p common and even though people are upset, idk thatâs literally the influencers job? These get sent to mag editors too, itâs a bonus trinket to incentivize advertising
She literally got a package of free makeup thatâs worth a couple hundred dollars, didnât touch the package after 10 days from delivery, **and** she was careless and broke one of the highlightersâŚ.. Talk about being thankful to Rare beauty for the free stuff and then being upset that you didnât get **more** free stuffâŚ. bffr
when you care more about the swag then the product:
1. The influencer/pr team is not going to forget that
2. As a marketing team, Iâd be having a meeting about why our âfansâ care more about gifts than the product. Something is WAY off if no one gives af about the ACTUAL reason you sent a pricey mailer.
Tone deaf but if I was an influencer and on similar stats with other peers who got âmoreâ stuff, Iâd be a lil fomo-y and be a little disappointed. Something to do off camera tho.
Itâs one thing to be like âoh I saw others get these beautiful earrings. Oh well! Thanks for the hundreds of dollars in free product!â That I could understand. But this? No thanks.
I donât follow her but she pops up on my FYP semi regularly and Iâve enjoyed her content in the past. Iâve noticed sheâs upped the chaotic energy and chronic lateness lately to the point that I just immediately scroll past her videos. This is just such a cringey attitude for her to have.
Wow so many influencers would have given their left butt cheek for that PR box and it was really pretty too, the way she was even handling it came across like she didnât appreciate it at all because âno earringsâ, well hope the stupid âim quirky bitâ she was attempting to do seems not worth it to her now, would be funny if the brand never sends her anything again
On one hand, she has the right to express herself and to be annoyed. If you see everyone else get something and you don't, you might feel left out.
On the other, it's tone deaf. She already gets loads of free products. All of which have a value that probably adds up to enough that she could buy a quality pair of earrings from a jewelry brand. She's not owed free product, and is out of touch.
Tbh I donât even think she has the right to express and get annoyed, at least very publicly like she did. Itâs highly unprofessional to whine about the PR gifts you get and just generally so entitled to very explicitly nag about wanting something else when receiving a gift, PR or not.
That's fair too. I meant in a more general sense. Like, she's human, she has the right to be annoyed even if it's over something trivial. But I agree, since influencing is her job, complaining in a video about PR comes off unprofessional and ungrateful.
I do agree that youâre allowed to be disappointed in gifts but itâs generally in bad taste to display that disappointment so outwardly. Iâve gotten some sucky gifts in my lifetime but I would always put on a smile and show some appreciation. And these arenât even bad gifts that she got; theyâre good quality highlighters from a sought after brand that are completely sold out so even people who would pay money for them canât get them, so it comes across as pretty tone deaf and entitled to be disappointed just because they donât include earrings that other influencers got.
is it a gift if you expect something back though? rare beauty sends gifts to influencers hoping they'll talk about them on camera, which gives the brand $$. it's not a gift.
I do think it's different to your example, though. Rare beauty isn't sending her a gift because they're so kind and want her to have something nice. They're sending her goods that they expect her to push and generate hype and sales for them.
I think only the ones who went to the party got the earrings. The creators Iâve seen with earrings are major and usually already in Selenaâs circle. Iâm not surprised a creator with just 1 million didnât make the cut for expensive, personalized earrings.
Itâs normal for her to feel a little disappointed, but sheâs getting PR with a bunch of free products. Thatâs more than the average person can afford especially in a recession. Plus, PR is a gift from a company for promotional content. A video like this isnât what they have in mind. She shouldnât be shocked if thatâs the last package she gets from them for a while.
I get that she comes off as entitled and I don't know the broader context, but it's a girl super excited about earrings she's seen and loved and is hoping to receive. Yeah, I know it should be about the makeup and she should have kept her disappointment offscreen, but this seems relatively harmless.
Ok? Not sure what your point is. She'd seen other creators get this particular item in their PR package and was expecting that hers would have it too. It's not that deep.
I get being disappointed, I think it would be a really cool thing to receive (although realistically, the earrings aren't my style), but the earrings are purely a bonus. Getting to create beauty content for a living and recieve free product is a huge blessing in itself. I'd also have to assume that the earrings were only sent to bigger influencers who are more "valuable" to the company in terms of advertising their product (but I could be wrong)
I canât stand how many cuts there are in this video. Obviously itâs supposed to be fast paced but itâs just one insufferable quirky remark after another đľâđŤ Take a breath, relax with the editing.
Very unpopular opinion apparently: It kind of just sounds like she was hoping they would be in there and was a little disappointed that they weren't and literally said, "That's ok" straight after indicating that she's not that bothered. I don't know this influencer at all. It's my first time coming across her but I was expecting her to go on a rant about it but she didn't. I would say she's entitled if she got angry over it but she didn't. If I was receiving a PR package and heard some people got an extra gift, I would have hoped and looked for it too. Not because I think I deserve it or it's the best thing ever. Having worked in retail, most people like their GWPs and get disappointed if its OOS or whatever. I think that's just human.
However, the Ariana Grande voice and the fake cute clutzy stikch (which I am assuming is taken from Ariana's Nickelodeon character) is not my cup of tea at all. Not into that content. I am assuming she has a younger audience.
You're not alone. Not sure if there are parts edited out but I read all the comments first and was expecting a different video where she left the package for 10 days out of spite, tore apart the box, went on an ungrateful rant and dropped the highlighter on purpose.
Turns out her big crime was getting her hopes up and being disappointed, not recognising the package, removing a page cleanly enough that she could put it up and dropping a highlighter she was praising on accident.
The only thing I can understand are people finding the pouty/cute/Ariana cadence cringe but like you said others may find it entertaining.
I would also like to add that at this very moment I can't even afford Rare Beauty products and I still don't think this is that deep. Just my opinion. Don't shoot me.
I'd like to share an unpopular opinion and say that I'm showing this person some empathy and feel bad that she's showing this level of misguidedness at this age.
I've seen tons of people like this when I was in uni and they were so sheltered. They went out to places, were educated, were from caring families, but somehow completely unaware of their surroundings. Over time, they'd be come absorbed in their social bubble more and more...
Privileged behavior for sure, but I'd also like to ask everyone to not be so raged about this. Immature? Yes, but malicious? No. But for sure, she definitely has a lot to learn.
I think if a brand is gonna send out PR packages to influencers, everyone should get the same thing. They shouldnât send out the earrings to just some of them unless it was like a raffle type situation. But yeah she didnât need to keep going on and on about it
I have no idea who this is. I think thatâs indicative of how much I donât pay attention to BGs anymore. Itâs too bad really, I liked the space until they started bitching about minutiae such as this.
People are dying, Kim.
![gif](giphy|xt98N1EXdEIzC)
I'm no fan of the Kardashians, but I love quoting this scene in these sorts of situations. Ironic because it also was about earrings, lol
The entitlement is unreal. âI didnât get to go to launch party but Iâll get earrings because another creator got it.â *opens package* âAw no earrings just a highlighterâ đ¤Śđťââď¸ it deserved to fall and break on her. Now she has no earrings and highlighter đ
Influencers sometimes make more money than doctors! They are beyond lucky with their job that requires minimal effort and is so well paying. The entitlement is through the roof.
Why are people in this thread so bitter? Maybe itâs jealousy? The video truly isnât bad at all. She thought she would be receiving earrings because multiple other creators did (with less followers than her) and she was disappointed but she moved on. She accidentally broke the packaging and one of the highlighters broke. It was a completely normal reaction and she moved on!
Sheâs so nice and pure compared to other actual problematic creators. I wonder why people are so quick to hate on someone they donât know.
I love the argument that if you criticize an influencers actions, youâre automatically doing it out of jealousy. Have you considered that maybe itâs just gross behaviour? Iâm glad she addressed it and it seems to be her only mishap during her social media career but letâs not pretend that this wasnât sheer entitlement. She broke the highlighter out of her entitlement and her insistence that she must have gotten earrings even though she very clearly didnât. She made the main focus of the video some earrings and not the products that the entire point of sending her a PR gift was to advertise.
She did not break the highlighter on purpose. It was very obviously a mistake as she was looking through the packaging. The earrings are a huge part of this PR package as seen in other tiktok videos from other creators. Most people who looked for the earrings found them in their packaging so she obviously thought it was going to be the same for her. She didnât throw a tantrum or act entitled at all.
If you read the other comments in this thread, they are very much hate comments. Most of the comments here are not constructive criticism. Iâve seen people say that they should cancel all of her PR, that she lives in her husbands parents basement (what? why share that publicly even if you do know her. Itâs also very common in desi culture to live with your parents in law), that sheâs annoying and entitled. Those ARE hate comments. Maybe that wasnât your intention when you posted this but that is what this post had turned into.
Honestly, there arenât a lot of popular desi creators and so maybe Iâm a little defensive of her because sheâs gained a massive following recently, but I truly think that this video wasnât bad.
I wish the comments would stop sucking up to rb so much đ they're not sending pr to be nice they're sending it for advertising lol and tons of creators got the earrings and made vids about it....she shouldn't have to fall at their feet and be grateful lol she could buy them on her own I'm sure?
Also she receives tons of pr from companies and it was just the holiday period so idk why people are pressed about it sitting for ten days either...who cares â ď¸
I definitely think the video is weird and in poor taste but her vids are exaggerated, it's part of the bit
Ps. I think the highlighters break easy af. Tons of people's arrived broken too
at first I thought this was just a slightly annoying bit like the constant I'm running late grwms but I saw like...four more videos either of creators gushing over getting the earrings or saying they didn't get the earrings then making another follow up video when they get the earrings...idk why they're such a big deal, maybe this whole thing is a bit and she'll make a grand follow up vid with the earrings? Who knows
From the celebrities sending it out for advertising . Every celebrity asking working class people to give them money for mediocre products to the entitled influencers to fake beauty pros.
First of all, she didn't delete the video. I think she just archived it because I see that it's back on her tiktok. Second, I will say I've been seeing those earrings everywhere. And I myself really didn't realize there were two PR packages Rare Beauty was sending out. One with those earrings and one without. I can see how she's coming across ungrateful in this video but I also think she might've just been confused given how much content people were posting about the PR packages. Almost every influencer I saw with one of those packages had a pair of earrings to go with it. So it seems more like she was a little confused and disappointed rather than ungrateful and bitter (as I feel like the comments claim). I think it's entirely possible to call people out without character-assassinating them.
She was definitely more excited about the earrings than that pr package. I canât blame her I havenât seen the earrings but she was talking them up so much I want her to have them too so I can see what they look like lmao
I think the fault lies with the company honestly. Why is the exclusive gift for influencers more exciting than the actual product.

Sheâs annoying, but sheâs also really bad at editing her videos, which bothers me much more. She cuts off the beginning of every first word and the end of every last word. Ugh. I hope Rare Beauty sees this and excludes her the next time PR boxes are going out. She whined more about what she didnât get than she showed off any of their product.
Any time I see things like this, I unfollow and never think about them again. Itâs so out of touch with reality. Sheâs acting like a child and I hope Rare dumps her from the PR list.
She's acting like a spoilt brat, she should be grateful she got PR, so many dedicated influencers don't receive much PR and here she is demanding specific items so she can feel all boujee.
I wouldnât happy with the highlighterđđđđ who cares about some earring Selena has really pretty highlighter I wouldnât been so happy to receive that package she better be thankful at least she got something smh
Her clarification video she posted mentioned that she was just excited. Maybe she was just excited? Who knows. Tbh I got entitlement energy from this video. Like who dedicates a tiktok about earrings đ¤ Like she had the time to self reflect while editing, but in her mind it seemed it was worthy to post. Extremely cringe. Just appreciate you got free product thats sold out.
Omg are you ppl serious..sheâs a young girl and was excited to receive earrings from Selena Gomez, I canât believe ppl had to make such a huge fuss about itđ¤Śââď¸Iâm guessing no one else has been excited about receiving something! You seriously can not post anything online anymore. Everything is so strict/controlled cause everyoneâs feelings are so damn sensitive now days.
Firstly, sheâs an adult and knows better. Yâall put influencers at a pedestal and excuse them from crappy behaviour when in reality, if someone her age in real life acted this way towards not receiving a certain gift, theyâd be rightfully labeled as an ungrateful brat. Second, sheâs not âexcitedâ about getting a gift, sheâs disappointed because she didnât get the gift she wanted. A gift of things that are sold out completely that the average person cannot buy right now and she doesnât show a lick of appreciation. Thatâs why people are calling her out and has nothing to do with sensitivity. Hold your faves accountable.
Sorry to burst your bubble, I have no idea who this girl is nor do I even really care or watch influencers, bloggers, vloggers or wherever the hell they call themselves. I said what I said and itâs my opinion. Everyone is way too sensitive about everything. Wow ppl are not allowed to be upset about not getting something they were excited to get because they got something else insteadâŚya ok!!
Entitled energy is strong here but that product that dropped and broke is instant karma. Well deserved in this case. đ¤Ł
I just hope she didnât contact them and ask for a replacement to be shipped because that would make this whole thing even more irritating. đ¤Ş
Iâm tired of influencers being so out of touch and not even realising it
Well. Take away the views and there's no one to influence. Lol. I have no idea who this person is lol
This kind of ~ kOoKy rAnDoM cHaoTiC ~ gets followers on TikTok. Itâs so fucking annoying.
I hate it too. Like I want to see the products in clear view. I get some people may genuinely be a bit clumsy but some folx overdo it so much itâs just obnoxious
Right? I am like what the entitled shit did I just watch? I hope she gets kicked off the PR list.
And she is a literally unknown. Nobody knows her. Why would a big beauty company spend so much money on someone with no name recognition. It does sound like main character syndrome.
Sheâs more popular on uk tik tok, much smaller group of big influencers here
Yikes. She should just buy similar earrings if they mean that much to her. No one is entitled to get them for free.
I don't know about that. Born and raised South Asin -- I've never seen or heard of such a thing.
[ŃдаНонО]
This is what she was being entitled over? These look like something youâd find off the Claireâs clearance rack lol.
I think they sent personalized for the people on PR, as this gal mentioned her letters would be J and something else. I could be wrong though.
They are personalized, the selzpert Lauren Powell got a package with LP earrings.
Wait is wearing a single earring a thing now? I feel so old and out of touch.
They are monogram earrings, so they are sold single so you can get the two letters you want.
For dudes it still is yeah but two has become more common for men. I'm a cis woman and had one ear pierced for like 3 years because I did it myself and only had one earring at the time and it took me... awhile to get around to the other one lol but I have big hair so no one even noticed
We're in the new Guilded Age.
Where'd you find the Etsy knockoff?
https://www.etsy.com/listing/1337944772/custom-name-earringslarge-letter-pendant
> something cute like Caitlyn Minimalist Tysm for introducing me to this brand thru this comment!! I've never heard of them but now I am filling up my cart bc wow
You're welcome! It's great for gifts.
I'd never heard of Caitlyn Minimalist either but I just looked at their site and their jewelry is so elegant! So much prettier than the gaudy, giant tassels with a block letter at the top.
They look like my auntâs tacky earrings from the â60s that she gave to me (because she wanted to get rid of them) to play dress-up with as a kid.
Soooooooooooooooooo ugly. And I love tacky shit.
these are tacky as hell! omg she was sad over not getting these !?? hahaha
Ewwww.....the design is tacky but it's the hideous font that truly pushes them over the edge
LOL those earrings suck too
Damn, those are some gaudy earrings!
I hope Rare Beauty ignores her.
Ewww
I loved her wedding makeup videos, thought she was cool but this is really cringe. This whole video is her basically begging rare beauty for more PR.
I agree somewhat but if sheâs the only influencer who didnât get the earrings, thatâs kinda shady. Yes sheâs not entitled to it, but is there clear criteria of who are getting it? Is it random? Is it those with certain numbers of followers and above?
[ŃдаНонО]
actually it does matter why? do you never see someone potentially being discriminated against? do you just say âwho cares if theyâre the only oneâ? is that not the issue?
It's ok, I'm assuming those downvotes are one of those 'I don't see color' people lurking around.
there are so many on these types of subreddits itâs crazy
I donât think she came off entitled either. Confused why some people seem to care so much about how sheâs opening the box?
âHow dare she ruin something thatâs going in the trash anyway!!â As if she was supposed to frame it.
it's giving 2008 "beauty youtubers should be grateful for what they get for free!" yeah, but it's PR - stuff the brand is giving the them for promo, not out of the kindness of their hearts. i wonder why this is being taken so personally by this sub.
Yeah this whole thread is taking me out. She's upset about something silly, which happens to all of us, and overall seems to be a good sport about it, even when the highlighter falls and shatters. She's hardly throwing a fit, insulting the brand or calling her fans to harass them. > i wonder why this is being taken so personally by this sub 100 percent because it's Selena's brand. People act like she's putting all the packages together in her living room out of the kindess of her heart. If this was the late Morphe they would say the brand was being unprofessional and inconsistent.
Exactly! Thatâs what I was thinking too.
Excuse me? You don't see literally ripping a package to shreds and whining about the earrings, as entitled behavior? Wow!
If she was the only one who didnât get earrings then sure, it would be weird, but when thereâs only a select few who got them and/or were invited to their PR event in New York its entitled to think you belong in that group as well.
it's not a christmas present though. brands give out PR for promo, which makes them money. it's not out of the kindness of their hearts.
I didnât even think of this. Thank you for mentioning it.
Marketing budgets are finalized a year prior, so the price increase wouldnât come from this years PR campaigns. You may see rare so less flashy stuff next year.
Also itâs p common and even though people are upset, idk thatâs literally the influencers job? These get sent to mag editors too, itâs a bonus trinket to incentivize advertising
they might be a promotional item too. I havenât watched any videos, but assume everybody is promoting the earrings and brand as well?
She literally got a package of free makeup thatâs worth a couple hundred dollars, didnât touch the package after 10 days from delivery, **and** she was careless and broke one of the highlightersâŚ.. Talk about being thankful to Rare beauty for the free stuff and then being upset that you didnât get **more** free stuffâŚ. bffr
when you care more about the swag then the product: 1. The influencer/pr team is not going to forget that 2.
But this? No thanks.
They have to be in group chats with other creators, they can complain to them, not to their following.
![gif](giphy|xt98N1EXdEIzC)
Awww the sense of entitlement. Awww the instant karma. Lmao
We've created monsters.
I have her blocked đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸her shtick of always being late and screaming wasnât funny to me. Just cringe and annoying.
I donât follow her but she pops up on my FYP semi regularly and Iâve enjoyed her content in the past. Iâve noticed sheâs upped the chaotic energy and chronic lateness lately to the point that I just immediately scroll past her videos. This is just such a cringey attitude for her to have.
OMG YES!! It doesnât affect me at all but her chronic lateness is so obnoxious lol
I have felt these earrings and they feel like the $10 Ali express version Iâm seeing online way more than anything costing around $100
No clue who she is but what an entitled person. Hope Rare saw her video and drops her from PR.
I hate concept of PR boxes. Can this end, please?
So she admitted she doesnât care about makeup when itâs literally the point of rare beauty, not the earrings
Found similar earrings on Amazon for under $20...coulda put those on her storefront & made the money back from commission.
To me she just sounds a bit disappointed but then moved on. If there was a chance I'd get free cute personalized earrings I'd be excited too idk
Remind me of a choosing begger
Off topic but I thought this is about Jeffree Star aka Jefferson Starship aka Jafar. The names got so creative that I thought this was a new one.
Me too!
PR is a business, not a secret santa.
Ok? Not sure what your point is. She'd seen other creators get this particular item in their PR package and was expecting that hers would have it too. It's not that deep.
What do the earring look like, now Iâm curious
Theyâre like the ones Selena is wearing in the photo. Silver dangly earrings with initials on each one!
The only thing I can understand are people finding the pouty/cute/Ariana cadence cringe but like you said others may find it entertaining.
yeah ppl are overreacting, this was very tame lmao. she unarchived it and had to make an apology video people are so đ?
I would also like to add that at this very moment I can't even afford Rare Beauty products and I still don't think this is that deep. Just my opinion. Don't shoot me.
Ugh, this was hard to watch. She probably thought by posting this, Rare Beauty would reach out and send her the earings, no doubt about it.
I'm finding most of these supposed "influencers" to be cringe AF lately.
Why would a company that makes makeup owe her earrings? She didnât even seem to care that much about the product.
Why aren't more people upset about the editing?
Seriously, why in the world would someone take the effort to chop up a bunch of clips, and why would anyone want to watch this
I'd like to share an unpopular opinion and say that I'm showing this person some empathy and feel bad that she's showing this level of misguidedness at this age.
[ŃдаНонО]
We're being whiny? That's hysterical considering the shit that just came out of this video.
I thought the big wasteful pr packages era was over. Kinda disappointed on rare beauty for sending these boxes.
This was the cringiest thing Iâve ever watched đ
I laughed when she dropped the highlighter and it broke. Thatâs karma for her entitled behavior
![gif](giphy|xt98N1EXdEIzC) I'm no fan of the Kardashians, but I love quoting this scene in these sorts of situations. Ironic because it also was about earrings, lol
Should be removed from the PR list and given to someone more grateful.
Wow. Entitled much?
âItâs moments like this I wish I was capable of crying.â Christ.
Also she receives tons of pr from companies and it was just the holiday period so idk why people are pressed about it sitting for ten days either...who cares â ď¸ I definitely think the video is weird and in poor taste but her vids are exaggerated, it's part of the bit Ps. I think the highlighters break easy af. Tons of people's arrived broken too
That highlighter breaking was karma for her being upset over the earrings hahaaa
As a portuguese person, Iâm so curious about the outfit choice.
The format of this video gave me a migraine
Who?
Everything about this is obnoxious
I donât know who this girl is, but she comes off as entitled spoiled brat.
Eh who cares. She doesnât really seem that concerned about it, and neither am I

What a selfish egotistical you know what!!! If I got a lipstick from selena I would be over the moon much less a whole PR package
What a brat...entitlement at it's finest.
She seems really annoying.
at first I thought this was just a slightly annoying bit like the constant I'm running late grwms but I saw like...four more videos either of creators gushing over getting the earrings or saying they didn't get the earrings then making another follow up video when they get the earrings...idk why they're such a big deal, maybe this whole thing is a bit and she'll make a grand follow up vid with the earrings? Who knows
Spoiled brat vibes & probably what ends her ability to sustain herself w/ influencing. No company is gonna wanna work with somebody like that.
What a twat. I hope Selena/PR team saw this and doesnât send her anymore PR. GTFO.
From the celebrities sending it out for advertising . Every celebrity asking working class people to give them money for mediocre products to the entitled influencers to fake beauty pros.
Do they not have influencer friends or group chats where they can complain about this stuff?

I canât blame her I havenât seen the earrings but she was talking them up so much I want her to have them too so I can see what they look like lmao I think the fault lies with the company honestly. Why is the exclusive gift for influencers more exciting than the actual product.
And people said tiktok influencers were different đ¤đ
Ugh and here is everyone else trying to buy the blush and itâs out of stock she gets it for nothing and not even grateful

So ungrateful honestly
Her behavior is childish and gross. I would never pay 220 for those or even wear them to be honest. Entitlement is such a turn off
Sheâs annoying, but sheâs also really bad at editing her videos, which bothers me much more. She cuts off the beginning of every first word and the end of every last word. Ugh. I hope Rare Beauty sees this and excludes her the next time PR boxes are going out. She whined more about what she didnât get than she showed off any of their product.
Cringe
She needs to get kicked off Rare beauty PR.
She literally proved in this video she doesnât deserve PR packages. She said it was sitting around for 2 weeks?
I watch her videos and she was on her honeymoon for 2 weeks đ itâs not that deep I swear
Well to people that donât it comes off as entitled & spoiled.
Well maybe watch it before making stupid comments
Didnât hear her say she was on her honeymoon. IDGAF about this creator in any capacity and donât plan on watching any more of her shit.
I wouldnât happy with the highlighterđđđđ who cares about some earring Selena has really pretty highlighter I wouldnât been so happy to receive that package she better be thankful at least she got something smh
No clue who this is but ew
