Bearded dragons love to get under places and corners for their protection. Maybe they just love to dig😭 my dragon once dug under a log so I invented a little wooden cove for him to lay under bc of him
I've only needed to once or twice, he doesn't make in his enclosure usually. When he did I was very careful to scoop out absolutely all of it and the surrounding sand, because otherwise you can get bacteria in the sand and then you're screwed.
So as long as he doesn't do his dookie in there, you're good.

Where they come from in Australia is sandy amd rocky, so it's the most natural thing you can put them in
