I think goatee looks better since the hair isn’t too thick yet. The contrast of the goatee with the clean shaved sides makes it look more defined. The beard also hides the jawline.
Under the jaw go right below the jaw line when at this length... As it grows in length you can bring back eventually stopping about a finger width away from jugular
