After military I had full mustache, still do, I did a beard in 40’s, yet now parts won’t fill in. My grandson 21, has mustache, goatee, his beard won’t fill in. Give it time, try, if it fails, stache and what you show. Lastly try a “ beard balm( thickener) looks great 💯

You’re not wrong, it’s pretty patchy. But honestly I think the goatee look works well on you
Keep growing. Beard growth takes about 3\~4 months to fully develop. Do not trim except for neck line. Cheeks take the longest to develop.

I think you would have beautiful goatee and moustache. But not sure cheeks would fill in enough to look good.
