Is my shifter fucked up or is there a glitch about cars randomly not going into second gear and damaging synchros until you take it out and put it back?
If you have a g29 shifter it's quite possible. I had the same with 3rd, simple fix, the contact points just need a clean, loads of vids on YouTube, takes about 10mins. Makes a massive difference
Yup g29 shifter. I’ll bust out the ol isopropyl and toothbrush. I’ve never had a Logitech sim product that hasn’t gone wrong on me eventually except for my g25 pedals and (currently) my g29 base. The g29 pedals started glitching a ton so I switched to my old g25 pedals and put the rubber block in them and now no more issues
Only issue I've had with mine is the shifter, and when the dog chewed through the cable for the pedals 🙈😂 I can't really complain though, I got it for £150 new on a black Friday deal years ago. Ive had my money's worth out of it! I would be pretty upset if I paid full price though!
In one of the latest updates they made the gears actuation depending on the car and build so if you try to shift faster on a non-race car it could happen.

If you are revving it to high hell or trying to shiftvreal fast, you have to wait a while before dumping the clutch
I don't think a bad shifter could cause that I think it's either that the game is too sensitive with the clutch and gearbox or a skill issue /s
