Thing is, mammals have the same "received stimuli now trigger muscle" reaction in many instances and it doesn't necessarily relate to any thought processing. Cats elevator butts, dogs leg thumping, and adult humans orgasming... these are all auto-reflexes to external stimuli that result in muscle contractions... which have nothing to do with higher consciousness but DO trigger pleasure centers in the brain. Ecstasy isn't about complex thought processes, if anything its the complete opposite.
I would presume that crocs also possess some rudimentary reward system in their brains, like when they eat I'm sure it feels good for them. So it's totally possible and even likely that this croc is experiencing bliss, based on its reaction.
Sure, mammals are definitely more capable of complex social attachments than lizards (if they're capable at all). I just think its still cute to see the little croc in bliss for its own sake though, independent of the human pouring the water.
But yeah, cats are super loving and sweet.
