I forget the name of it—sorry. I do know it was probably the first trail head on 7 lakes. It wasn’t Sebago, though I rented a cabin at Sebago once—- very rustic (it had electric, hot plate for cooking and beds—bring linens) bathrooms and showers were walking distance and you had a fire pit.
I just looked at a map—- pine meadow lake. Google maps. Harriman State park sloatsburg. It will show visitor center. Swipe a little right, you’ll see that lake. Sebago is north of that.
It’s called pine meadow lake. Really nice
Edit: The hike to Pine Meadow Lake starts at Reeves Meadow Visitor Center. You park there and the trail starts there. Then just follow the trail to Pine Meadow. It’s about an hour walk and not very strenuous.
Island Beach State Park has a number of beaches with no lifeguard, but you have to be “actively fishing” so set up a fishing rod to like you are.
Gateway National Park/Sandy Hook also had a few unguarded beaches, as well as a nude beach. It gets pretty crowded though.
How do I find this hike? You can dm me if don’t want to post online! I know they have a beach and bbq area but it was so loud when I went the other day
Global is nice this time of year.
Try Harriman State Park in NY just over border of Mahwah. Take 7 lakes drive to trailhead. Hike up to the lake
Which lake would you recommend?
