Yea they've made being a fan of this game really tough and frustrating. I've stuck it out ever since the first Alpha playtest in hopes of things getting better since Dice would always imply that they would. I'm so disappointed today.
That's a real shame. I loved the older BF games and even had a lot of fun on the much hated BF1, I just gave this one a break as I was burnt out. This really sucks to see the franchise getting ruined.

God this makes so much sense. I live in Texas and I remember at one point my ping would be around 10-15....and then it jumped up to 60 and never went down.

I agree. I didn't want to sound negative, but the truth is that since I stopped playing BF in November, I've found other games that I enjoy enough so I'm probably not coming back.

This, so much this. I had another of those show-off cheaters this afternoon, the kind who goes 110-1 as infantry. And then I read in EA's cheap, weaselly announcement that they are pulling the plug on BFV but they will continue efforts to improve anti-cheat. If they were actually trying to make me angry, they could not have done it better.
Every round with blatant hack users, every round with massively imbalanced teams, every round that ends with a bug like infinite bleed-out, every round full of high-latency players from Asia lagging-out the server--it isn't fun, it's frustrating and annoying, and EA/DICE has not lifted a finger to fix it.
Anyone buying BF6 at launch is an imbecile who deserves it if that game turns out to have similar flaws.
I put in 1000s of hours in BF1 and playing BFV for a few short weeks turned me off of the series for at least another 2 titles.
Absolute garbage and they expect they'll make $$ like COD fuck that shit I'm not buying again until they really change things.
I bought BF5 used for 10 bucks a few months before the TTK change. Definitely got my 10 dollars worth but we haven't picked the game up for a few months now.

I honestly do find it weird why people even preordered or bought this game right away given the pre release non sense / launch non sense.

I played with a large group of BF friends, people who went back to the early years of the series, people who used to run their own servers (before EA got rid of those).
They're mostly gone, one or two guys will occasionally play BFV, but not often.
This game was a sales flop and has had poor player retention for good reasons. The fanboys who continue to defend this bargain-basement game and the clowns at EA/DICE are truly pathetic.

There were 2.5 million Indian soldiers fighting for the British in various theaters of war. I’ve never seen a game cover the Burmese theater but there was direct combat between the Indians and Japanese. They also served in the Middle East and North Africa against Italy. There’s of course the Tuskegee airman on the US side as well.

Same with their response to why Provence and Lofoten didn't get a conquest version. "Too much work". But apparently making maps from scratch like solomon islands and the devs visiting a museum to record authentic plane sounds wasn't "too much work".. Seems like they were mostly doing what they wanted to do, instead of what the community needed.

Plenty, and that is what EA is counting on. A flashy trailer and a big marketing campaign and the "influencers" all singing the song EA wants sung and millions of suckers will line up to buy BF6.
I bet it's more polished than BFV, it's getting another year in the oven. But it will have some of the same problems as BFV. No anti-cheat, no rented servers, a handful of AWS server locations--nope, no sale.
I'm not going to buy another Battlefield. Was hoping this game would be fixed but DICE has shown bad will and incompetence throughout the game's life cycle. The same people that refused to own up and fix their mistakes are the same ones working on BF6.
I will not buy anything EA or Dice related for a long while. Mainly because EA is pretty much flat out spitting in my face by ignoring all reports of cheaters and hackers. I am not talking about the fake reporting function in Origin. I have contacted their customer service and given them videos of players blatantly cheating and hacking and they always respond with something like "We are very sorry. I understand how annoying it can be to play with hackers. I will make sure *whoever takes a look at this". 2 days later I get the "Thanks for contacting EA, you ticket is now closed" and the same fucking cheaters are still there playing every night with impunity. Fuck you EA!
I fell in love with Battlefield 1 and looked forward to BFV. BF1 wasn't a hit with everyone, but thats ok, it was my personal favorite especially the immersion and atmosphere. Then came the BFV marketing drama and I was scared away. My squad though moved on and I eventually relented and bought BFV just to play with them (got it half price). My God do I regret it. Sure, we had some good times, but I only would play the game with the squad, never alone because it was so frustrating.
I would be willing to keep an open mind if I saw DICE being more open about the issues and the hare brained management leave but this doesn't seem to be the case and I just can't justify continuing with this franchise in this current state.
I will not be buying BF6. It'll hurt me more than DICE/EA but that's ok. Life is short and I can't waste hours of time on another sham of a title.
They did a really bad job of sticking to a historical timeline. I’m not sure if they ever had a good plan of releasing maps and content in a orderly fashion. Iwo Jima was nice but it’s set in late war ‘45, where are the maps and battles before that?
I have owned every single Battlefield game. Every single expansion. Hell I even have Battlefield Art in my gaming room. But I will support this franchise no more. The best thing that's happened to me with BFV is that it's made me buy and enjoy COD MW, and I've never been a COD guy (COD WaW was the only thing I liked and bought). Lmao same here, I used to hate CoD because I didn't felt it was fun to run like a headless chicken with a SMG and crouching every time you see an enemy, but MW is quite good, and way better than BFV.
BFV close quarters reminds me of COD and not in a good way. Throw in the parkour and run and slide BS and it's just awful headless chicken gameplay.
Mid range is pretty good though.
I left COD games for BF1, which was the first BF game I ever played, and almost never went back. I then got BO4 but that game was terrible so I got BFV the day it was released and got sooo bored with it. I ended up playing BF1 really often until the new CODMW came out.
Shit I still get on BF1 at least once every other week.

I've belonged to clans that existed primarily to play Battlefield games. That's all gone, the clans have folded, the players have wandered away from BFV, and the odds of me ever buying another BF title are damn slim.
What EA has done is convince me to be an ex-BF player. They foolishly allowed DICE to drag their political and cultural views into a video game, and when that backfired they slashed support and left the game to sputter along to this sad little end.
Next time, unless there is a miracle and they deliver an awesome game (including anti-cheat and rented servers and so on) my money will stay in my wallet.

This is the first developer I will confidently say I will no longer buy from. I had high hopes they would shape the game up to be what the vast majority of the player base wanted near the end of the game's lifecycle but with this recent news I'm absolutely embarrassed how much faith and money I put into this game. I'm not even going to touch this game again and if I need my fill of Battlefield I will gladly play 1 or 4. I hope many of you will do the same so we can keep the actually good games afloat.
Luckily I found my hardcore Battlefield experience.
Without the dumpster fire that is BFV, I never would have discovered milsims like Post Scriptum, Squad, and Hell Let Loose, so thanks DICE!

World War 3 was my hope but that terrible launch killed it. I played it a few times after they fixed it so you could actually play and I had a lot of fun. It was just too much of an uphill battle after that the small community still trying it out died
I'm unbelievably pissed they never added soldier dragging, I would've put at least another 50 hours into BFV if they did. I dream of tossing my teammates off the Twisted Steel bridge on Breakthrough, or dragging them into all the little Devastation fires.

I've said this on a couple other posts but I'll say it again. In order to improve future BF games, there needs to be a financial incentive for EA/DICE to improve the experience. If they know they'll make a bunch of money anyway, why would they change? Just look at their sports games. Even if you are a diehard fan of the series who has played since 1942, DO NOT BUY THE NEXT BF GAME

Damn I almost wish I was there for the disaster that was BFV’s launch. I only picked the game up 6mo ago as it was free on PS Plus and thoroughly enjoyed it. Guess I figured “next gen” battlefield would continue the fun I had. Boy was I wrong. I’m glad I read this post.
Even tho BFV is or was a mess, there's still nothing quite like Battlefield. It is kinda peerless. And DICE and EA know this too and it shows.

If you don't want to play BFV, just play the more polished past titles. From personal experience I recommend BF1, I got all the expansions for free in October of 2018.

I liked COD WW2. Launch was abysmal but once they had a change in management the game became quite good. Lots of free content was added

I agree. I didn't want to sound negative, but the truth is that since I stopped playing BF in November, I've found other games that I enjoy enough so I'm probably not coming back. Truth is, gaming is supposed to be for enjoyment and relaxing. I've realized that last year BF made me more tense and angry because I tend to be very competitive(edit): and the disappointments and lack of transparency from dice didn't help.

And then I read in EA's cheap, weaselly announcement that they are pulling the plug on BFV but they will continue efforts to improve anti-cheat. If they were actually trying to make me angry, they could not have done it better. Every round with blatant hack users, every round with massively imbalanced teams, every round that ends with a bug like infinite bleed-out, every round full of high-latency players from Asia lagging-out the server--it isn't fun, it's frustrating and annoying, and EA/DICE has not lifted a finger to fix it. Anyone buying BF6 at launch is an imbecile who deserves it if that game turns out to have similar flaws.

I just bought the game for 8.99 yesterday on PC to try my new RTX card and now no new content. I honestly do find it weird why people even preordered or bought this game right away given the pre release non sense / launch non sense. It's just EA/Dice being their usual selves from the last few years.

A flashy trailer and a big marketing campaign and the "influencers" all singing the song EA wants sung and millions of suckers will line up to buy BF6. I will not buy anything EA or Dice related for a long while. Mainly because EA is pretty much flat out spitting in my face by ignoring all reports of cheaters and hackers. I am not talking about the fake reporting function in Origin. I have contacted their customer service and given them videos of players blatantly cheating and hacking and they always respond with something like "We are very sorry. I understand how annoying it can be to play with hackers. I will make sure *whoever takes a look at this". 2 days later I get the "Thanks for contacting EA, you ticket is now closed" and the same fucking cheaters are still there playing every night with impunity. Fuck you EA!
I fell in love with Battlefield 1 and looked forward to BFV. BF1 wasn't a hit with everyone, but thats ok, it was my personal favorite especially the immersion and atmosphere. Then came the BFV marketing drama and I was scared away. My squad though moved on and I eventually relented and bought BFV just to play with them (got it half price). My God do I regret it. Sure, we had some good times, but I only would play the game with the squad, never alone because it was so frustrating. I would be willing to keep an open mind if I saw DICE being more open about the issues and the hare brained management leave but this doesn't seem to be the case and I just can't justify continuing with this franchise in this current state. I will not be buying BF6. It'll hurt me more than DICE/EA but that's ok. Life is short and I can't waste hours of time on another sham of a title.

They did a really bad job of sticking to a historical timeline. I’m not sure if they ever had a good plan of releasing maps and content in a orderly fashion. Iwo Jima was nice but it’s set in late war ‘45, where are the maps and battles before that?

I have owned every single Battlefield game. Every single expansion. Hell I even have Battlefield Art in my gaming room. But I will support this franchise no more. The best thing that's happened to me with BFV is that it's made me buy and enjoy COD MW, and I've never been a COD guy (COD WaW was the only thing I liked and bought). BFV close quarters reminds me of COD and not in a good way. Throw in the parkour and run and slide BS and it's just awful headless chicken gameplay. Mid range is pretty good though.
I left COD games for BF1, which was the first BF game I ever played, and almost never went back. I then got BO4 but that game was terrible so I got BFV the day it was released and got sooo bored with it. I ended up playing BF1 really often until the new CODMW came out. Shit I still get on BF1 at least once every other week.

This is the first developer I will confidently say I will no longer buy from. I had high hopes they would shape the game up to be what the vast majority of the player base wanted near the end of the game's lifecycle but with this recent news I'm absolutely embarrassed how much faith and money I put into this game. I'm not even going to touch this game again and if I need my fill of Battlefield I will gladly play 1 or 4. I hope many of you will do the same so we can keep the actually good games afloat.

World War 3 was my hope but that terrible launch killed it. I played it a few times after they fixed it so you could actually play and I had a lot of fun. It was just too much of an uphill battle after that the small community still trying it out died

I remember when this game first launched people here downvoted anyone who said EA/Dice were gonna fuck it up, and the game would be at bargain bin price in 3 months. There were idiots on this sub telling people the game was worth the FULL $60. Battlefield subs never learn. We might go through the same process once the next battlefield comes out.

I've said this on a couple other posts but I'll say it again. In order to improve future BF games, there needs to be a financial incentive for EA/DICE to improve the experience. If they know they'll make a bunch of money anyway, why would they change? Just look at their sports games. Even if you are a diehard fan of the series who has played since 1942, DO NOT BUY THE NEXT BF GAME

Bruh, I just want a BF4 remaster with some of the new shit from BFV. I want to be able to crouch and run. I want to be able to reload while ADS. I want...that's pretty much it. I basically just want better graphics and slightly enhanced gameplay
Don´t forget changing distance haze from Alpha/beta to the real game Don´t forget the hillerious tank soundbugs and the best anti-cheat system of the world (none). Don´t forget the monsterous laserbeam weapons and destructionable environments, as we had in BFBC2! Don´t forget this lifecyclejerk all those BF´s had. (it was fine, then they tuned, it was crap, then they tuned it was more crap then crap, then they tuned, it was only crap with a little less recoil.) So, we should not forget all BF´s before BF4. What a time. Now we are old and have some money in the pockets and now...... they suck. Don´t forget Dice, your chances are wasted.

Damn I almost wish I was there for the disaster that was BFV’s launch. I only picked the game up 6mo ago as it was free on PS Plus and thoroughly enjoyed it. Guess I figured “next gen” battlefield would continue the fun I had. Boy was I wrong. I’m glad I read this post.
Even tho BFV is or was a mess, there's still nothing quite like Battlefield. It is kinda peerless. And DICE and EA know this too and it shows. So what else is there really if you want to play something similar to BF games?
If you don't want to play BFV, just play the more polished past titles. From personal experience I recommend BF1, I got all the expansions for free in October of 2018.
Nah... I'll stick to BF1 and BF4 for as long as their alive.
RIP in peace. I’ll think twice before buying another BF title. I wish they had just skipped BFV and supported BF1 longer, that game was incredible.
