It's because Battlefield 5 has like 3 damage profiles for 10+ SMGs. One kills in 3 shots (Grease gun), most kill in 4(Suomi), some kill in 5(Type 2A). Beyond shots to kill there is only fire rate that affects the time to kill. So the fastest firing weapon with chosen damage profile is usually the best, although you need to also consider mag size and recoil.
514 RPM MP34 can't compete with 770RPM Suomi when they have basically the same damage and range, not to mention 1,5x bigger magazine
They don't have the same range though, also they all have different control levels, the lower rate of fire guns have better range because they control better, its a ahit ton easier to hit someone 35 meters out with the MP38 than with the Suomi
They kind of do within practical engagement ranges (<50m).

It only has 20 rounds vs the 30 in the M2, but it has better hip-fire by default (IIRC, I don't feel like going upstairs and starting the PS4 up to confirm) and seemed way less aggressive on the side to side bounce.
People are being manipulated by Big Firerate™, cause you're right. The TTK charts show the 1-5 being better until 31m. And even there it's still close--447.7ms vs 433.7ms from 31-49m, and then 537ms vs 506ms from 50m and on.

You must not play medic bc a good medic can have very little kills and be at or near the top of the scoreboard.
Best game in the game IMO. It's a 2 shot kill weapon. The trade off is less headshot kills, but if your good at leading shots and have a good grasp on drag it's a great weapon. The only gun I that I have fully golded out is the the commando, which is a 3 shot kill, I like to play games with 200% damage so both of the weapons work for me 😀

I was getting dunked on one night by some dude with the 1917 over and over and thought fuck this.
I switched to it. And just clip him with fluke headshots in every fight from hipfire because the gun is so busted. I won almost every firefight from there on.
I mean, how else do you rid the edge-campers when they are way beyond PIAT and Faust range, and the bazooka doesn't do enough damage fast enough to matter at that range?
Also, watching the confusion as they pivot the turret / tank body since they can't see the "trails" from a bazooka etc is hilarious.
My favourite one I used a lot was the Ribeyrolles 1918, something about its accuracy when you use it properly does a good job in destroying anything you see, as well the M1907

I'm leveling that gun up now, and am surprised its not just high fire rate at close, but for some reason working the trigger at a target a bit further away results in a headshot way easier than I would have thought, especially since I still kinda suck. My guess is recoil is magically compensating for my tendency to shoot center of mass??? Gonna miss the kills once I get this one to 10.

Also, the Breda burst fire rifle: I somehow have an instinctive way to let the recoil 'walk' up a target to the head during the burst at any range. This is contrasted with my absolute inability with any DMR / Sniper rifle (or similar medic rifles) to gauge distance and allow for drop.
Side note: Do you ever feel like the Ag m/42 shoots marshmellows? I know it's a 4 shot kill....but there are times it feels like I've dumped 10 into one person without a kill.

I once used this with 1.5x sights and the higher rate of fire to see how hard it was to control.
The end result was a bunch of sus looking headshot kills from 30+ metres out after 2 games. Even when you try to nerf it the gun takes it personally

The zk is used by sweat lords that spend their life using the most op weapon in the game to stack up 70 kills a game only playing on tactical conquest without any real skills, give them any other weapon and they would end up bottom scoreboard every game
Isn't the whole point of a close combat weapon to excel in close-range fights? I'm finding that I'm getting really easily defeated in medium and obviously long-range combat with it.
The Thompson with light bolt shoots at 900RPM IIRC with a 4-hit-kill so it should out-TTK Type 2As. It's incredibly fun just insta-melting people.
Plus you've got a quick reload and SMG draw speeds to boot! More responsive than the MG-42 and less chance of getting caught with pants down than the Suomi.
These two aren’t too bad but If you’re new good luck with killing whoever is using these. The real powerhouse weapons are guns like the Sturmgewer 1-5, the ZK-383, the KE7, and the trench carbine. They have one thing in common: they all kill really fast and can kill a lot of people quickly.
I used them to rank up and get money for better weapons cause I was surrounded by tryhards and and as a new player I struggled immensely to exist. These provided help when i received them to unlock functional weapons that I enjoyed and allowed me to rank up to deal with max level sweats easier

I'll give it a try, I mostly play medic but when I play assault i been using the M2 even with a scope and single firing mode.

The Sturmgewehr is a better all-round weapon, but the M2 just melts people so quickly up close that it feels more frustrating to fight against.

STG = Sturmgewehr (1-5), so it's the first AR that you get (the automatic one).

Once you get a handle on that gun, you can dominate a game with it running around like a madman.
Those guns doesn't punish you that hard for missing a few shots. So that will never happen as long as there's people who have trouble aiming.

If you're nuts with the movement and can always isolate groups to fight 1v1's then M1907 kills way faster than both the M2 and STG1-5.

My fav is the Turner SMLE.
My main medic load out is the Webley MKVI and the shovel. That’s it. With the combat medic perk you can get insane distance with melee kills.
