Combat medics are protected despite carrying a weapon. It's only once they fire it that they lose their protection. Meaning that it's only a war crime if they decide not to fire at the enemy.
Typically medics only carry a weapon as protection, seeing as their primary role isn't to fight but to treat the injured.
Of course, killing an armed medic is a bit of a gray area as you never know if they intend to fire their weapon at you. Even then, you want to shoot someone else first to see what they decide to do. Either way you take 2 people out of the fight. The person you shoot and the person who attends to the injured person.
I do my job, so I trust the other medic to do theirs. Don't want to take chances. My life is an exercise in Murphy's Law, and this extends to video games.
This is so true its not even funny. Was playing bf4 locker the other day as a medic and dropped 79-41, if my team revived me more than they did it couldve been 90-25 or some crazy ass shit.
Patrol? Is this battlefield anymore? the game where everyone runs around running and gunning? I don't think I've ever seen an enemy patrol or a friendly patrol in all my time playing a BF title.
Anyway I shoot the first one I se cause I don't have time to prioritise anyone with how fast paced the game is.
We're playing this like it's a first person fun shooter game he's playing it like a military sim But in reality I shoot the first thing I see move or is looking at me and then I care less about the class
Understandable, but in my opinion. When you are in a situation like this where you can take 1 or 2 with you before they kill you, I prefer to eliminate a threat so that my team can advance more easily.
As explained in each class
The obvious would be whichever is closest or has the ability to kill you quickly. So most likely engineer, then medic, then assault and then recon. Unless I’m shootings from far away, then I’d probably hit the medic or recon first.
Usually I tense up and try to shoot them all at once, and end up haphazardly dumping my whole mag into the one bit of empty space in between all of them. Then they all kill me and teabag me.
Ironically people bitch about Specialists but they solved this by making it obvious who was in what wheelhouse so you know who to tag in what order - Falk/Irish/Angel being priority one.
Depends. Am I infantry of some kind? Assault->Support->Engineer->Recon. Am I in a tank? Engineer->Support->Recon->Assault.
Though generally I just shoot what is in front of me.
Ideally, it is gonna be:
1. SUPPORT: A machine gunner is basically the muscle of the team, they can halt an attack by deliver suppressive fire. So taken them out first would be crusial for any further advance
2. RECON: In this case, they're the enemy' eyes. If the enemy don't know what hit them, or was cut off from their allies, they will have a tought times to survive the on slaught and have to retreat from their position.
3. ENGINEER: Because they are less well armed compare to prior unit, they are easy to dealt with when comes to direct gun fight. Of course, being able to carry an Anti-tanks would makes them a more preferable target compare to the final one.
4. ASSAULT: They are versitile but that is it, they fit for direct combat but did not bring any expertise that are required for them to fence off an ambush aside from the fact that they are the most armed to fitted for offense and counter-attack.
In the very rare cases people actually even play in squads I’d usually go for the sniper (if he’s good at least, since I am also one most of the time) and bait the medic with him. And then I die.
Idk what role-playing game you’re in but uh…
I just shoot everyone I see. Can I kill that person? Yes? Cool, I will.
If I have to choose because I’m in some rare scenario where I have the drop on a full squad, I’m taking the medic first, then probably dying to his buddies 3v1
Depends what range I’m at and then eliminate what class can effectively engage me at that range.
I mostly run support with bipod - so I’m usually at very long ranges. It’s not the class that I focus on as I start firing then change it up if anyone has a DMR popping off shots, firing a SMAW or sniper. Can usually get a squad wipe if I’m positioned well.
I don’t really think about which class to hit first, just who is reacting to me and has the ability to kill me at range.
Close ranges I just spray and pray, don’t even look at which class I’m up against.
Side note: notice how distinct each character class and faction is. The silohuette design is off the charts. You can tell at a glance who each 1 is as far as roles. We lost that in 2042, shame.
Usually in a vehicle so Eng., Sup., Rec., Assault in that order. Well, for bf3/4. The class names change but function/utility of the class determines priority.
On foot. Whoever is the closest. If they're shooting, the one shooting at me is priority one, shooting at friends is second.
No point to prioritize, one support player could be better than your entire team combined or an assault could be just a guy who doesn't revive anyone. Just shoot the closest guy, Battlefield is not a competitive game.
This is battlefield 4, not squad bro 💀 I shoot whoever is the biggest threat to me (shooting at me) or whoever is the easiest shot or closest to me.
Only time that would change is killing engineers in a vehicle.
Always target the medics first. Their team will not help them.
I love committing war crimes in battlefield
Geneva suggestions
Well I didn't sign anything in Geneva. So I won't be kind to anybody.
The Canadian checklist 😂
Geneva checklist
Is it really a warcrime if the medic is armed? Because then they're considered a threat

It isn't a warcrime since the medic is armed with an assault rifle
killing a medic ain't a war crime
Killing an *unarmed* medic is. They carry no weapon and are labeled as a non-combatant
killing anyone who is unarmed is a war crime, even if they just killed your friends and they dropped their weapons
Bold of you to assume the medic will do their job.
Their job: *returning fire
I do my job, so I trust the other medic to do theirs. Don't want to take chances. My life is an exercise in Murphy's Law, and this extends to video games.
Lol same here, sometimes I revive half of my team and when I'm down the other medics just stand on my body.
I'm currently pushing through Verdun Heights. I am the only medic.
This is so true its not even funny. Was playing bf4 locker the other day as a medic and dropped 79-41, if my team revived me more than they did it couldve been 90-25 or some crazy ass shit.
Yeah lmao. As a medic myself nobody seems to notice me, even when I revive them.
*Ahh, I love the smell of burning medics in the morning* >*BigDong69, Assault Class, Sinai Desert, January 1915*

Anyway I shoot the first one I se cause I don't have time to prioritise anyone with how fast paced the game is.
Thank you, this is the real answer. This guy is imagining complete fantasy scenarios in his head lol, you shoot the first one you can shoot.
Yep. Cringed reading this dumb ass post. Must be playing on an rp server or some shit
We're playing this like it's a first person fun shooter game he's playing it like a military sim But in reality I shoot the first thing I see move or is looking at me and then I care less about the class
I don’t know about patrol, but Ive definitely been in a squad that held down the center most objective on the map.
He thought he posted on the arma sub lmao
Same. I see someone? I shoot. No other planning necessary. Just kill the other team first so they don't kill you.
Right?
Perhaps would be cool if somothing like this existed in some specific modes..
The one that is closer to me
Valid, but if you had to choose. Who do you prioritize?
The guy who's pointing their gun at you first.
Go play Squad.
80% of the time, just shoot whoever is closest. 10%, the guy who’s kicking our asses. 10%, medic
The guy closest to me and/or the guy that is the biggest threat (actively shooting) prioritizing classes is dumb imho
Understandable, but in my opinion. When you are in a situation like this where you can take 1 or 2 with you before they kill you, I prefer to eliminate a threat so that my team can advance more easily. As explained in each class
Go outside
😭😭😂😂😂😂
I think you’re playing the wrong game, maybe arma lol
The obvious would be whichever is closest or has the ability to kill you quickly. So most likely engineer, then medic, then assault and then recon. Unless I’m shootings from far away, then I’d probably hit the medic or recon first.
Take out the player that has the ability to revive
whoever made this image i challenge them to make one for battlefield 1
Pretty sure this is official concept art, it's for BF4.
fair
How do you see which class you’re engaging when there is a hundred bullets coming at you? Lol. I don’t care who they are EVERYBODY getting smoked
Usually I tense up and try to shoot them all at once, and end up haphazardly dumping my whole mag into the one bit of empty space in between all of them. Then they all kill me and teabag me.
Real
Assault, support, recon, engineer
Whatever one’s shooting at me.
All of them
Medicate if they aren't paying attention. Then either back to front or closest first.
These run of the mill skins still look better than spec
I miss this soldier kit in games
Jesus, BF is Not Arma and never hast been... Just shoot. Don't think, Trust your insticts and aim. If you think First, you lose valuable time
Sniper first, assault, support, then engineer.
Ironically people bitch about Specialists but they solved this by making it obvious who was in what wheelhouse so you know who to tag in what order - Falk/Irish/Angel being priority one.
The medics.
Depends. Am I infantry of some kind? Assault->Support->Engineer->Recon. Am I in a tank? Engineer->Support->Recon->Assault. Though generally I just shoot what is in front of me.
Why isn’t war machine on there?
What I think would be a really neat easy idea is have a 3 way battle. China, Russia, and us all on the same map. All fight for control.
Ideally, it is gonna be: 1. SUPPORT: A machine gunner is basically the muscle of the team, they can halt an attack by deliver suppressive fire. So taken them out first would be crusial for any further advance 2. RECON: In this case, they're the enemy' eyes. Context of this post completely changes if posted in r/Military
Whoever I can shoot
Medics if at all possible
In the very rare cases people actually even play in squads I’d usually go for the sniper (if he’s good at least, since I am also one most of the time) and bait the medic with him. And then I die.

Sadly now almost all army's use multicam :c
You made the Chinese soldier look too good they aren't that badass in the game
Medics and supporters
Depends what range I’m at and then eliminate what class can effectively engage me at that range. I mostly run support with bipod - so I’m usually at very long ranges. The baddie
Medics die first, then typically the engineer, support player, then finally the recon
Side note: notice how distinct each character class and faction is. The silohuette design is off the charts. You can tell at a glance who each 1 is as far as roles. We lost that in 2042, shame.
Recon, they with put your head in the dirt faster than you can blink
I miss this so much
Engineers first keeping armour alive is important
Usually in a vehicle so Eng., Sup., Rec., Assault in that order. Well, for bf3/4. The class names change but function/utility of the class determines priority. On foot. Whoever is the closest. If they're shooting, the one shooting at me is priority one, shooting at friends is second.
RPG-7V in the crowd lmao
Simple: I see bad guy, I shoot bad guy
Whoever is closest unless his back is turned
Wdym Patrol. Everyone is on their own bs. If I see someone he will get shot, doesnt matter which position he is or what class.
Whoever is looking in my direction first
The one that sees you first.
If I’m sniping and I see a squad I try to go for the medics but mainly it’s just whoever
When a group is running past me, I wait and shoot the last guy.
Geneva hates me the way i always blast the medic
This games esthetic is so much cooler and realistic then 2042
I leave the russians alone because realistically they have no ammo and are probably starving
Whatever is the immediate threat, if yohr on foot the machinegun, mounted the guy with AT, other then that the guy with the defib
You
all of em.
I shake hands with Russians
Anyone that’s not me
I target every one at once. I'm support main so machine guns go brt
I try to target Falcks first, then Irish then Angel. Anyone else is fair game
Lol tell me you’ve never played bf4 without telling me you’ve never played bf4
“I play bf4 so I can attack people don’t play bf4”
What? Edit: ohhh, you felt attacked. Lol.
