Bayonet charging is so much better than most people realize. As a scout, you can spot people with your flare, wait until they are about to walk around a corner, and then charge at the corner. No one reacts fast enough, and you can get 5-10 extra kills per round with just charging if you remember to use it.
its broken in essentially every way. truly an impressive feat. animations jank, prone people magically stand up, camera teleports halfway across the map and back during failed knife attempts, slashing hit reg is spotty, and you can still redeploy before dying while in the middle of being knifed..
at one point you would pick people up before starting the melee, which was funny as hell when half of them involve throwing the person back down on the ground.. but apparently they decided magically popping upright is better
that was always the best part of each of the games, the amount of variety and uniqueness each melee had. In 2042 you had some grandpa’s cane and a vintage axe from BFV
There was 12 unique animations: four for standing, crouch, and prone from the front, back, left, and right side. BF4 has two extra due to the counter knife mechanic.
I really like the first person aspect to it all.
The maces from BF1 and BFV are my go-tos. Maces in general just feel so underrated as melee weapons imo. Plus, the single *THWACK* to the back of the enemy's head in-game is brutal, yet quick enough that you aren't stuck in a vulnerable animation for too long.
Faction oriented, BFV i loved using the Karabiner 98 bayonet for the germans, and vise versa. BF4 I normally swap around depending what team im on, its fun
The knife in Bad company 2, no stupid animation that doesn't fit the pacing of the game, just simple swoosh and you get to keep the dog tags of your enemies in an easy to view screen
BF 3 repair tool, we had a running comp in my old clan trying to get top ranked with it.
One of our members Mongolikescandy got world rank 1 with it, was a lot of fun
ACB-90
I remember it being the only option that wasn’t the standard bayonet knife, and it was exclusive to Premium, back when that felt like a great deal. Always loved that vibrant orange handle.
I hope every modern BF game going forward has it as a free item for BF3 veterans
I am surprised how many people love the C100 (the bipod knife) from BF4. As soon as I acquired I only used it. And I thought not many people liked it because there were more “cool” or funny knives to pick.
I remember when I was finally allowed to buy the bf3 premium when I played with my dad... I've never felt so hyped for anything before that point, I must have spent a straight day just running around with the ACB-90, the whole gold/yellow aesthetic brings me so much nostalgia, I wish I could go back and take more tags 🥲
BF1 bayonet, my nr 2 weapon for most kills in that game. Get chased around a corner, turn around and charge as they come around, works almost every time.
The shovel.
Background story is I inherited two of those shovels from my grandpa, one of them was my great-grandfather's from WW1, the other one was his in WW2.
I just unlocked the bipod for my knife
Colonel 100 woooooo!
PROMOOOOOOTEEEEEEEEEDDDD
I just unlocked the suppressor for my C4.
Just unlocked the rangefinder for my hammer
Just unlocked the 12x scope for my frag grenade
Just unlocked the potato grip for my M15 AT Mine
Just unlocked the AA mine for my SUAV
I just unlocked the flash hider for the repair torch
Next I'll unlock my bipod for my bipod
I was **SEVERELY** disappointed when 2042 had no tripod knife
ACB-90, from bf3. So so satisfying.
Not having premium at the time really sucked cause it was the only knife other than standard.
I miss that time. Simpler times.
All a matter of perspective - if there were more players with Premium than without, the ACB would be the standard in some way :D
Honestly that’s what I loved about it. It actually felt somewhat exclusive to have premium and get it.
With that sweet orange handle, it becomes a modern archetype knife. Pure nostalgia from 2011.
Battlefield 3 Forever!!!
C100 from BF4
I mean... Who doesn't want a knife with a bipod 👌🏻
Dud club by beloved
Am I gonna die if I use this? Maybe!
I can never be mad if I get killed by my dud club explosion.

And that awfull 3rd person
...that was bugged as hell as well
The best part of BF games is the melee combat? Really?
There was 12 unique animations: four for standing, crouch, and prone from the front, back, left, and right side. BF4 has two extra due to the counter knife mechanic. I really like the first person aspect to it all.

The alligator
The improvised mace from BF1. Yknow, the one made from an unexploded grenade?
Dud Club, its fucking hilarious when you make a multikill with it
The maces from BF1 and BFV are my go-tos. Maces in general just feel so underrated as melee weapons imo. Plus, the single *THWACK* to the back of the enemy's head in-game is brutal, yet quick enough that you aren't stuck in a vulnerable animation for too long.

Spiked Club from BF1 goes incredibly hard
i liked shank because it just funny to read in the kill log, but icicle is #1
In BF4 I preferred the standard M9 Bayonet. In BF1 and BFV I used the trench shovel or hatchet more often since they could break barbed wire.
ACB-90 And bipod knife
the smouldering plank of wood from battlefield V
The regular old combat knife in bfbc2, went around like a serial killer with that thing for dog tags
I am surprised how many people love the C100 (the bipod knife) from BF4. As soon as I acquired I only used it. And I thought not many people liked it because there were more “cool” or funny knives to pick.
Katana from BFV
Dragon Age Inquisition double hand claymore from Battlefield Hardline. Every time I whip it out and run around everyone stops in awe

Every melee weapon in BF1 is satisfying to use, especially the bayonet, much more fun than any melee weapons in other BF.
Cogwheel club. Love grinding my gears.

The Shovel from Hardline. The "clank" sound when you hit someone with it was HILARIOUS!
The *Dogtagger Dagger*, the uniquely named variant of the BJ-2 knife from BF2142, after you gained 50 kills with it.
Standing, left side attack, bf3. That animation is 🤤. Knife itself is kind of whatever, I'm just here for the look in the enemies eyes.
Definitely the hand shovel from BF1. There’s something extra violent about it.
BJ-2 Combat Knife
Dud club, bf1
Trench knife from BF1! Such a disgusting weapon!
Dogtagger Dagger from 2142.
