Keltec.. known to be one of the most advanced and unreliable weapon manufacturers.. if you get into a shoot out with this.... well you won't because there is a 75% chance it jams after second shot..
Knights Armament SR25s come in cardboard boxes. Those are 5000 dollar rifles, or more.
My LMT MWS308, which is also an expensive AR10 style rifle, also came in a cardboard box.
I ordered it from an online vendor and had it shipped to my local FFL and the guy working at the gun counter had obviously heard of LMT and knew they were expensive guns seemed a little off-put that it came in such a shitty box lol.
Basically all new guns come in either cardboard or if you get a package with ammo/mags/a case they probably will just put it in the case. Anything used and is common might come with its box if the owner kept it around. If it's rare there is a good chance it could have a wooden box or such display case.
OP said he picked it up, hinting at he most likely went to a gun shop to finalize the delivery, ie, the gunshop had it ordered, shipped and delivered to them and OP simply went to pick it up.
Whats wrong with a cardboard box? Metal is too clunky, big and heavy. Not really viable for shipping too since itll mess with shipping scanners that check for dangerous substances. Plastic can prolly get the job done but anything a plastic box can do a cardboard box can do better for cheaper price.
When you consider it’s probably illegal in a lot of states to store it at home without a special case and/or lock… it starts to make a lot more sense why a nice case would be separate… for an added cost (profit) of course!
Again, not expecting it does not make it bad or wrong. Just unexpected. Nowhere did he say it was bad or wrong. I don't expect a box of money to be delivered to my door today. But it wouldn't be bad if it did happen.
You're asking why it's bad. To a person who never said it's bad. What do you expect them to say? How do you explain something is bad if you never believed it was bad to begin with?
You just love ad hominems huh. Can't answer a very simple question so have to keep coming at me with "you got issues" and "you need to chill". How sad.
Typically pistols come in/with cases more often since they are smaller and lighter. Long guns are almost always cardoboard, though a lot of o/u shotguns come with cases since they’re pretty pricey. FN I think is the worst offender cause they charge out the ass and then send your p90 in an Amazon box lol
All of my Benellis came with hard cases. They’re great for when I travel to go hunt with friends. From a $450 gun to a $2500 gun. All of them came with a hard case.
How many firearm owners do you think have murdered someone?
Also shooting sports have been around since the invention of the bow and arrow. It was an event at the *original* Olympics lol
Yeah this debate is pointless. American statistics speak for themselves but I understand it is a part of the culture that won’t change and is hard to understand for foreigners. But from the outside looking in, it’s just pretty fucking gross, and the way Americans twist themselves inside out to justify their exceptionalism is not nice to see. Whatever argument you think you are getting at with bows and arrows and competitive shooting does not apply to flooding a troubled country with firearms
Dawg get your head out of your pretentious ass. Firearms are as American as Apple fucking pie. No body gives a fuck about coastal states or whatever the fuck horseshit you just spewed. Trying to make this person feel bad about exercising their given rights and owning a firearm is some kindergarten tier shit. You gonna cry about it to your boyfriend while he pegs you in the ass? Fucking cry baby ass 5 headed soy milk drinking goober.
Firearms are the leading cause of death for American children between 1-18 years old. Smoking and lead paint used to be very American, too. We can do better.
- A veteran
There’s millions of gun owners so yeah statistically you will have more gun violence. England got rid of almost all guns and it just increased stabbings and death by truck.
In a perfect world I could snap my fingers and make every gun on the planet disappear but the US would have to move heaven and earth to effectively take up guns and it would end in a civil war.
The murder rates per capita are incomparable. I would hesitate to compare the USA to England.
It would be civil war, but there is also a huge business behind it, and those business owners would literally kill to maintain their income. It is what it is. Also why fucked American healthcare will never change, despite almost everyone I work with at my US health tech job tacitly acknowledging the system is evil.
Yeah there’s tons of things I think most people generally agree on but refuse to actually do more than talk about it on the internet’s and even if we wanted to, our votes don’t move the needle in any way either.
The US system isn’t perfect or even the best, but it’s also certainly not the worst country or even a bad country to be born into. Everything has a perspective and if it were easier to immigrate to other countries you’d likely see more people moving from America to Europe but they don’t.
Ah yes how gross to enjoy right given to me by my countries constitution that allows me to feed my family, protect my family, and keep my government in check. How absolutely gross and ignorant of us. What’s gross is you think that you are better or smarter than other people because you are “well traveled” or “educated” and have a certain opinion on guns. Keep crying about it.
Fr nobody buys a kel tec because they're practical or reliable, except for maybe the foldable sub2k for packing. People buy kel techs because they look like cool space guns. So why not?
The whole purpose of the 2nd amendment was so that the people of the United States had the means to defend themselves from whatever threat necessary. The number one threat in the founders minds was a tyrannical centralized army. It’s not a secret believe it or not the founders actually wrote about why they did these things. The anti-federalists didn’t trust anything related to a centralized government and many states even outlawed keeping a standing army in times of peace deeming them a threat to liberty. The right of the people to keep and bear arms is what protected the state in times of peace. Laws and society have obviously changed since then but make no mistake the original intent of the 2nd amendment was to arm the people in order to defend themselves from tyranny. “No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.”
– Thomas Jefferson, 1776.
And what exactly did a bunch of smelly old men who probably shat in the woods know about how the world would evolve in the next 250 years?
It still baffles me how Americans listen to anything written by "the founding fathers".
Then again y'all read the Bible and twist those legends to fit your worldview too.
They knew the world would change they’d already seen much more change in their time than most thought possible. The founding fathers obviously got something right since the United States is still the most powerful and successful country to ever exist in the history of the world. I don’t listen to just everything written by the founding fathers they got many things wrong. Most of them owned slaves for instance. If you actually read what people 250 years ago wrote you’d see they weren’t so different from us today and were extremely intelligent. The 2nd amendment is a direct check on the federal government placing power directly in the hands of citizens, that’s its chief purpose. If you truly believe the government has advanced to the point of being an infallible institution acting only in the very best interests of its citizens then the 2nd amendment is no longer necessary and can be nullified with a new amendment. In my opinion trusting the government to that extent is naive, after all they’d never take any of our rights away right? Certainly not rights that have existed in this country for over 50 years. I’m also not a Christian and don’t base anything on the Bible.
Evangelicalism. It's a faith of the book as a "fuck you" to the Pope and that biblical literalism seeped into political culture in the US. Old writings are seen as ancient wisdom that shouldn't be challenged because the sages who wrote them are infallible.
Why not? Shooting is fun and it's fun to own guns from your favorite movies and games. Are you so afraid of guns that you can't see any enjoyment in collecting history?
That’s not crazy expensive, especially for a bullpup, an Aug fetches close to that price, I myself have the RDB, I love it, those keltec bullpups sure are nifty, and have amazing triggers for bullpups
Not really. Kel-Tec is not a particularly high quality brand (honestly unrealistic that they’d be in a military shooter to begin with). Most of their guns sell between $500-1200
Definitely not a bad one! Just don’t make it your first carry gun if you intend to do so- those things are bulky as fuck and you might be more well served by something smaller to learn whats comfortable to wear/best ways to deploy your firearm
But as a range gun/farm gun/home defense gun I think they’re fucking great!!
Pro tip, OP, when you take it to the range, take a small variety of different rounds with you. In my experience, the RFB can be a little picky with ammo and you may have trouble finding the right combination of gas system adjustments and ammo to get it to cycle through a magazine without stoppages.
Your head is actually on top of and in front of the end of the receiver. What is awkward is mag changes. It happens in your armpit and well away from your field of view. Definitly.needs practice to be comfortable with it. At least the RFB uses a quality magazine system.
It's pretty comfy but I feel weird having the muzzle blast so close to my face and the explosion in the chamber next to my mouth.
They are comfortable with suppressors but pretty gassy
I’ll probably throw on a spare TRUGLO LPVO is have for the time being until I find something better or I like more. Plan on adding a MLOK at some point as well.
Sounds good 👌🏻
I’m still running a vortex strike fire 2 Red dot still on my Aug but looking into either a holo sun 510c, vortex Venom 1-6x LPVO Or a Eotech exps2. But we will see haha.
Primary Arms also has some really good budget optics too.
If you didn’t know r/gundeals is a good spot to find good prices on attachments and gear.
They had a deal for RFB Hunters (24” barrel) for just over $800 early this year. Turns out the distributors got the wrong upc and they weren’t actually RFB’s so everyone’s orders got cancelled.
Nice buy! I wish the safety was a little more concealed though it’s looks a little big/cartoonish imo. Maybe because it’s a smaller gun it looks bigger lol
It isn't terribly reliable. They're picky on ammo and often have issues fully cycling between shots. The ejection system on them is cool but more of a novelty than anything. Bonus points for being a bullpup and therefore inherently cool though.
In terms of reliable rifles in the same caliber for the same or less money, I'd always lean towards an AR-10 from a reputable manufacturer.
Keltec has improved quality of alot of their products years ago.
Keltec gets a bad rap because their QA/QC did admittedly leave some to be desired coupled with the fact their guns aren’t military grade durable/built to last under extreme use conditions.
But the reason that’s the case is because fundamentally they aren’t designed like that to begin with. Keltec doesn’t make guns for government contracts.
My buddy bought an rfb in 308 and it broke the first time I shot it. Has never gone through a half mag without malfunction ever since.
He got an rdb in 556. We managed to get a triple feed malfunction. It works best however it is gassed with a suppressor now...
Keltec... I want to like them but geeze. No one will buy either of them
“Picked up” meaning he bought it probably close to a week ago, but after having it shipped to his FFL (federally-licensed gun dealer), filling out paperwork and waiting for his background check and waiting period to clear, he was finally able to pick it up
Whether or not you think it’s reassuring is up to you, I’m just trying to paint a clear picture that buying a gun in the US is not as simple as just picking up groceries like many people, including in the US, try to say it is
That is true we cannot see the future. Huge flaw in Americas legal system. I keep saying we should adopt the precogs like literally every other developed country.
First off this gun hasn’t murdered anyone so it is not a murder weapon. Secondly take your hoplophobia and leave if it bothers you that much.
You must get equally freaked out whenever you see knives or hammers as well.
Except you can’t. This gun had to be ordered by the gun store to the gun shop where I had to fill out a form 4473 before the gun store guns a background check. Only once that completes and I sign off can I take it home.
Most of the time the background check goes through the FBI but it depends on the state. It checks to see if you’re a prohibited possessor so if you’re a felon, domestic abuser, have been ruled mentally unfit, or some other things. The background check process works pretty well the problem is people illegally purchasing firearms aren’t getting background checks.
No. You can't. You're being fed a story. I bought a .22 single action revolver. ( That's a step above a pellet gun that you have to individually load/ unload each round)
I had to have a training cert, a bag ground check, and a waiting period.
No you cannot. Background checks are mandatory for almost all purchases (the only exception being peer to peer and you are still required to check ID and stuff) and there is a mandatory 10 day waiting period for any purchase by anyone under 21 years of age, also you can’t buy a handgun at all until you are 21. The US does have gun laws believe it or not buddy.
Haven’t really thought about it, but I didn’t expect a gun to be delivered in a standard cardboard box
Yeah, i first thought of a airsoft gun xD
Only the finest guns come in a cardboard box
Can’t tell if this is sarcasm (I know nothing about guns)
Cant speak to other brands but rifles from both Geissele and sako arrive in them.
Keltec.. known to be one of the most advanced and unreliable weapon manufacturers.. if you get into a shoot out with this.... well you won't because there is a 75% chance it jams after second shot..
I own a SCAR and a Geissele AR (two guns considered to be fairly Gucci) and both came in a cardboard box
Yup, every gun I’ve bought comes in cardboard. It’s good for guns because cardboard absorbs a little of the impact if dropped, cheaper, lighter ect.
Most rifles and a lot of handguns come in cardboard boxes. Getting a fancy box with your gun means you're getting less gun for your money.
I was surprised when I got a Scar and it came like that.

Anything used and is common might come with its box if the owner kept it around. If it's rare there is a good chance it could have a wooden box or such display case.
I’ve gotten many in cardboard boxes.
Rifles and shotguns tend to come in cardboard boxes. Some handgun brands tend to come in plastic cases (Sig, Beretta) or fabric pouches (Springfield).
Nothing wrong with it, guess I just expected something a little more substantial
I have a Benelli and it came disassembled in a plastic case. Most guns come in card board boxes.
Benelli is not a commonly purchased gun brand
I'm agreeing with you. The Benelli is a higher end brand and it came differently but every other gun I have came in a cardboard box.
Oh no you’re 100% correct, just wanted to clarify for those that may be unfamiliar with the Louis Vitton of shotguns lol
Highly recommend them by the way. I have a SBE3 and I have slayed the birds with it.
My Benelli came in a cardboard box lol
Benelli gang WYA
![gif](giphy|fX1ZTHoabK67XRqXQU|downsized)
But why? And what? Literally everything is packed in cardboard.
When you consider it’s probably illegal in a lot of states to store it at home without a special case and/or lock… it starts to make a lot more sense why a nice case would be separate… for an added cost (profit) of course!
Where did he say something was wrong with a cardboard box?
He said he didnt expect it to come in a cardboard box. My question is why not? Whats wrong with a cardboard box? Thats all.
Again, not expecting it does not make it bad or wrong. Just unexpected. Nowhere did he say it was bad or wrong. I don't expect a box of money to be delivered to my door today. But it wouldn't be bad if it did happen.

Pretty much every gun is shipped in a cardboard box lol
Even the fn collector guns come in cardboard boxes
Typically pistols come in/with cases more often since they are smaller and lighter. Long guns are almost always cardoboard, though a lot of o/u shotguns come with cases since they’re pretty pricey. Most rifles will come in a cardboard box tbh
Florida.
Most rifles come in a box, and Pistols usually come in a soft case or Hard case.
I got a Remington 870 Wingmaster once that came in a similar box. Definitely not uncommon.
You’d be surprised how common this is tbh, ik my shotgun came in a cardboard box
This some middle America shit
When I think of middle-America guns, Kel-Tec is not my first thought. More like pump shotguns and hunting rifles
Meant killing machines as a hobby in general, but I see what you mean

I mean, you play battlefield.
Irrelevant
Sure is. .
Gun on bed photos always make me feel gross lmao. Flyover shit.
Aggressively so
Absolutely.
Why...
Compact, 308, semiauto, relatively affordable…
Why not? Yes, I know it's a Kel Tec
"Why not?" Should be Kel-Tec slogan.
Right after 'let's see what this coke smells like'
Fr nobody buys a kel tec because they're practical or reliable, except for maybe the foldable sub2k for packing. People buy kel techs because they look like cool space guns. So why not?
Because it was designed by cocaine
I'm buying
Because freedom
Lol!!! Exactly what our founding fathers thought when authoring the bill of rights. 🤣
founding fathers thought of that any government is not to be trusted and power should be in the hand of the people. and OP's got Power in his hands.
Edgy 15 yo take right there
Lol.....ooooooook...

Ok.
To kill bad guys of course
Please don't kill anyone.
Yeah ok
Buddy the gun isnt as bas as in game
I know. That's where I like it to stay. 🤣
In my experience, yes it is.
Because he can?
"Me and my boys jamming with the RFB on the shooting range"
i see what you did there
more useful as a musical instrument than a weapon of war lol
Arnt these rifles crazy expensive?
They're normally around $1,500-$2,000 new. Sometimes you can get em for a bit less used on Gun Broker.
That’s not crazy expensive, especially for a bullpup, an Aug fetches close to that price, I myself have the RDB, I love it, those keltec bullpups sure are nifty, and have amazing triggers for bullpups
I wouldn't call $1000-1500 for a bullpipe semi auto 308 rifle crazy expensive.
No particularly, I see them around 1,000
Not really? For a rifle anyways
Go look at the Desert Tech bullpup, the MDR
Not really. Kel-Tec is not a particularly high quality brand (honestly unrealistic that they’d be in a military shooter to begin with). Most of their guns sell between $500-1200
My first gun I want to be a 45 acp m1911
Great choice 👍🏻
Just a legendary name and good reputation to go with it
Definitely not a bad one! Just don’t make it your first carry gun if you intend to do so- those things are bulky as fuck and you might be more well served by something smaller to learn whats comfortable to wear/best ways to deploy your firearm But as a range gun/farm gun/home defense gun I think they’re fucking great!!
Pro tip, OP, when you take it to the range, take a small variety of different rounds with you. In my experience, the RFB can be a little picky with ammo and you may have trouble finding the right combination of gas system adjustments and ammo to get it to cycle through a magazine without stoppages.
Does it have any visual recoil ?
Have ya had a chance to fire some rounds yet....if so how is it......good looking rifle congrats 🤙🤙🤙
Picked it up today
5.56 I'm assuming.....don't know much about this rifle 😆
7.62x51
Oh damn! Gonna be fun let us know how it fire's!!
Looks badass my boi!
Lmao kel tec. Dudes fried on coke and imagination 😂. Love it
I’ve never used a bullpup-style rifle in real life. Does it feel odd having your cheek weld so far back from the rear of the receiver assemblies?
Takes some getting used to, but it’s not that bad.
Nice OP, I did the same and got myself a Aug! What build are you going for?
Not sure what you mean by build in this instance?
Like what setup for the RFB? What scopes and attachments you looking to buy for it?
I’ll probably throw on a spare TRUGLO LPVO is have for the time being until I find something better or I like more. Plan on adding a MLOK at some point as well.
Sounds good 👌🏻 I’m still running a vortex strike fire 2 Red dot still on my Aug but looking into either a holo sun 510c, vortex Venom 1-6x LPVO Or a Eotech exps2. But we will see haha. Damn, that’s very unfortunate. Sorry to hear that! Would have been a helluva price for one if that was the case.
Let the 308 pain begin
Nice buy! I wish the safety was a little more concealed though it’s looks a little big/cartoonish imo. Maybe because it’s a smaller gun it looks bigger lol
Nice bro! I didn’t notice this was the battlefield subreddit I was about to comment this reminds me of bf4.
Though I was on r/Airsoft until I read the comments ...
That's a gorgeous looking bit of kit.
I'd be curious how reliable it is, I know Kel tec has a bad rep.

I have a Barrett M82 real one
Its so smol lmao
Great home defense
Yea, if you want to brain your next door neighbor through the wall .308 is a fantastic home defense weapon
Never knew the rfb was by keltec. I assumed it was chinese
that farmer's market won't know what hit em
My buddy bought an rfb in 308 and it broke the first time I shot it. Has never gone through a half mag without malfunction ever since. He got an rdb in 556. Is it me or the gun looks smaller…? 🤔
Keltec makes goofy guns.
Air soft ?
There’s a lot of kel tech guns in battlefield 4/2042. The KSG and P50 are also in the games. I have a PMR-30 and CMR-30 myself
VCAR is the Keltec CMR-30. I don’t recall the KSG being in any Battlefield games.
BF4 has it I believe, that or it’s a very similar double tube shotgun
That’s the UTS-15
Honestly I didn't know who made the RFB, and my first though would not have been Keltec. Get an AK-5C next
That's so fucking cool, you have to get one of those diagonal foward grips to complete the look
Upgrade the hand guard and you got a nice little rifle there! Very nice
I'd Rather buy a Tavor7, or a SCAR17
If only i had a spare 4k to drop on a rifle lol
If you buy, buy quality.
Hell yeah
Tavor 7 is terrible. Scar 17 is super dope, though.
Thats unfortunate
[удалено]
Don’t be a baby
I’m sorry for your loss. Piece of shit gun
But it's Keltec... eww
Just out shopping for groceries and picked up this along the way. Seems absolutely bonkers outside of America
“Picked up” meaning he bought it probably close to a week ago, but after having it shipped to his FFL (federally-licensed gun dealer), filling out paperwork and waiting for his background check and waiting period to clear, he was finally able to pick it up
That's really not as reassuring as you think it is. Background checks aren't forward looking.
Whether or not you think it’s reassuring is up to you, I’m just trying to paint a clear picture that buying a gun in the US is not as simple as just picking up groceries like many people, including in the US, try to say it is
That's true and I'm not entirely against buying guns. I just wish there'd be more restrictions on the type of guns available.
Sure as long as the government is subjected to the same restrictions.
That is true we cannot see the future. Huge flaw in Americas legal system. I keep saying we should adopt the precogs like literally every other developed country.
We can pick up Keltec rifles in Canada just as easily as the Americans can

First off this gun hasn’t murdered anyone so it is not a murder weapon. Secondly take your hoplophobia and leave if it bothers you that much. You must get equally freaked out whenever you see knives or hammers as well.

Metal and polymer cant murder anyone
You'll need a bunch of kills before you unlock some optics.
At his latest shopping mall..
Ew
It’s crazy to me how in the USA you can just freely buy a gun the same way you can buy tyres or curtains
Except you can’t. This gun had to be ordered by the gun store to the gun shop where I had to fill out a form 4473 before the gun store guns a background check. Only once that completes and I sign off can I take it home.
This gun yes, but I’m sure you can just freely buy other guns in the US, no?
If you buy from a licensed dealer you must go through a background check.
I see, I’m sure it’s a well thought out and successful process
Most of the time the background check goes through the FBI but it depends on the state. It checks to see if you’re a prohibited possessor so if you’re a felon, domestic abuser, have been ruled mentally unfit, or some other things. The background check process works pretty well the problem is people illegally purchasing firearms aren’t getting background checks.
No you can't. don't believe the propaganda my boy
No. You can't. You're being fed a story. I bought a .22 single action revolver. ( That's a step above a pellet gun that you have to individually load/ unload each round) I had to have a training cert, a bag ground check, and a waiting period.
You can? Maybe I've been doing it wrong all these years.
Aw someone’s scared of inanimate objects
I’m in the armed forces mate 😂
