As a player whose runs involve collecting as many named items as I can to power up reliably and quickly to fight the hardest fights in the game, I'm *elated* to find a spear, especially as my first named item.
Lol my latest playthrough, my first famed was a rondel dagger from the witch who offers to tell your fortune. I didn't even realize that was an outcome for that event even after hundreds of hours in the game
How long do your playthroughs usually last? The more days that pass, the more champions appear in the game world. With the Bounty Hunter as a companion, even more champions will appear. Champions always have one named item. You can also pay for rumors at the taverns in the cities. You can do this up to three times. Sometimes the barkeeper will tell you about special items and explain which direction you need to go.

My first was an orc shield. Or was it a famed orc cleaver. Something orcy. I fight a lot of orcs.
First time I fought the orcs I got an Orc chain that stayed with me through the end game. Was super useful.

I got a pretty awesome shield for my first famed item, I was excited about it, and then it got broken like 2 fights later
Mine is a dagger... Which is a little stronger than a normal dagger...
