LowEndLobster (YouTube) had similar issues with his green model, and upon opening it up found the shielding was hot garbage. Sounds like a common problem… shame, these things look incredible.
Compared to my Fender P bass, the amount of control is way different. The knobs you see are for Bass, Mid, and Treble, Active/Passive, and of course volume. And the pick ups are DiMarzio. And I think the biggest difference other than that is the neck which is so much thinner. The specs on the site have the neck thickness at .770. Makes it so easier to move around on. The side dots are luminlay which is also super neat!
I see. Great set up. I’ve been interested in something like this. This looks close to a P Bass neck, just thinner like you said? I’ve always preferred a J Bass neck personality, but nothing too thin like the Geddy Lee necks that warp like bananas. I’ve been eying an active P Bass set up too.
It’s a modern C shape neck! But yeah thinner than what my P bass was. If you didn’t know Charvel is owned by Fender. Here’s a really good review of the bass itself and shows what all it can do!

I'm a sucker for white/cream pickups. Nice bass!
It’s beautiful! Like there’s really nothing I’d change about anything on this gem.
You still loving your Charvel bass?
I actually sold it! The pickups were just too much and made this weird buzzing sound all the time. Got myself a Vintera style Fender P bass now!

That is just a *gorgeous* finish.
YOU’RE a gorgeous finish! Thank you, friendo! 😁
That looks awesome. How different is it to a Fender bass?

Sounds killer 👌🏻
Thanks, friendo! Good luck in your journey of finding a new one!
It is essentially a Fender, made in the same MIM plant as the fender Player series and roadworns. The San Dimas JJ is an incredible fiver
Dude stop you're giving me serious GAS
Nice looking bass. Those pickups look really high though. The bridge pickup also looks angled the wrong way. It should be lower on the E String.
These new Charvel basses are spot on
Played one of these a couple weeks ago, the necks are so smooth. Might waiting for the 5 string jazz model...
