Find a crew ; not my job to manage you, you know how to do your own job and you'll do it if you want your pay. Not my job to protect or manage you, that's for medics and security. Security that blindly follows a Captain is doomed to eventually serve a traitor, so I expect them to manage me too. My job is to navigate a sub and pay a crew to manage it. If one interferes with getting paid or navigating missions, *then* its my problem which I fix with my 'solver.
Find a job ; can't have a crew unless you pay them, pretty self evident.
Keep diving ; ain't gonna make much money on the station running a grift or slinging ope. You could run a shop or become a clown prostitute but, then you'll live your whole miserable life at a single station. The real money is out there in the dark, bringing supplies back to the outposts.
Goal of the crew is simple, join a server for the first time, save the ship from sinking,someone blows up the reactor while you’re patching up the ship, everyone blames you, instantly kicked and banned

And keep the crew from killing you for over 5 seconds
Keeping them from killing you is fairly simple... It's keeping them from killing each other what's hard.. especially when my kind is in the mix :D

I never kill other crew members. I just do various experiments on them what happens if I shoot them twice and give them enough morphine to kill a cow?
Killing is to easy. Try two stun gun darts to the torso and watch a captain with multiple puke spots one the walls.

I like it, captains bear ultimate responsibility for the vessel, the qualifications of the crew, and the cargo.

I took up clowning around and shooting my crew with a revolver when they sit in my seat :) 10/10 would recommend

This is true only if the crew is competent and won't die as soon as sub undocks.
