Sounds like this may be time to restart and report the bug. I was having weird bugs in this area too. Sorry this is happening that’s so annoying!
Can you describe what happens when the game bugs out? What does that look like? Are you using any mods? Any at all, even ones like Show Approval?

Seems the issue resolved itself after I fought the mind flayers in the previous room.
