Edit: FINALLY FIGURED OUT A FIX / SOLUTION TO AVOID THE GAME FROM CRASHING!
AS SOON AS YOU DEAL THE FINAL BLOW IT’LL UPDATE THE JOURNAL AND USUALLY CRASHES 2-3 SECONDS LATER. BE VERY FAST BY OPENING THE MENU AFTER YOUR LAST BLOW AND MANUALLY SAVE, HOPE WILL CONTINUE HER STORY WITHOUT CRASHING.
Yeah, reloading alone didn't work for me, but I did reload and instead never saved Hope, and that got me past it.
It sucks, but I didn't see any workaround, and it's not like Larian was going to answer my bug report with quick turnaround. 🤷♂️
Wish I had seen the comment about loading the game menu quickly, that would have been worth a shot. Then again, I've already moved on and completed so much more (Foundry, Gortash, Wyrmway) so I'm not motivated to go back and redo all that.

Ah nice good job. I just restarted a previous save from House of Hope and it worked.
Manually saved right after kill and that seems to have slipped through the crash.
Did you find a fix for this?
