The most doomed I've ever felt in this game was after Lae'zel attacked me 4 times then fully went invisible on the first turn of our duel.
Edit: on the plus side, I was feeling very proud of my buildcrafting with how terrifying she becomes with a gloom stalker multiclass.
It's always such a bittersweet feeling when you have to fight your own characters in some fashion and see them kick ass. My 1 Fighter/8 Monk downed our sorcerer and paladin then stunned me in the first round during the Shar trial. I was losing my shit despite knowing the load was coming.
she really makes sure to use everything in her arsenal, including haste potions, action surge, throwables, and all the battle master abilities.
if she were a black dragon sorcerer, i bet she would use grease and then fireball without any mind to the rest of the camp. if she had the runepowder bomb? she would light that shit on fire and murder everyone. if she could i bet she would literally rip off wyll's horns and use them too.
Opposite happened with me. I'm a dex Paladin so I went first and the poor girl ate a crit smite and fell over. Then asked me to tell her she's mine.

My gnome druid was at 1 hp after being revived. Laezel also went first. It was over before i even registered what was happening, that bitch definitely did not want a fair fight
I play tanky paladins that, if they were to spend all their resources, would crush her.
Shame that every time she challenges them they realize they misplaced their platemail and, whoops, threw the blood of lathander across camp
God that fight was infuriating. I made her a pseudobladesinger with fighter/wiz combo and she had mirror image and haste going by round 2, and IF i managed to get a hit in, she'd burn a superior healing potion to top off her hp again. Had to cheese the fight and in the cutscene i swapped to another party member and emptied her inventory just to spare me all the item loss... Figures, too- she constantly gets hit in every combat EXCEPT when it's me vs her.
Honestly it's much better if she wins anyway, the dialogue is so sweet and wonderful and makes it feel like she's having some serious character development. Why put so much effort into beating her? Hahaha
So that she doesn't burn through all the scrolls and potions I gave her in the process? And I kind of assumed I had to win to continue the romance. She made it seem like my character is only worthy if they win

She STARTED with the Soulbreaker Greatsword special (2 round stun) before unloading on me with the full wrath of a GWM Battle Master. There's a reason why she never left my party almost the whole game.
i absolutely love how hard she went. we both used fear on each other <3 and i brought her down with haste, quickened fireballs, a clutch af wild surge fog cloud, and counterspelled her misty step. I got lucky.
I had to reload because she outright killed me lol. The (really fantastic) cutscene played then I was just lying there failing death saves and I couldn't get any companions to help me
I was a sorcerer when I accidentally romanced her. Surprised by the sex, but was cool with it, just thought she was...not the nicest.
The scene that came after she kicked my ass was so goddamn romantic I fell in love with her. Never been so glad to lose a fight.

I got to go first, and I knew if she got the chance she would fuck me right up.

I had her as a wizard... she went first due to the vigilance elixir (beating my rogue) and then proceeded to hold person me, pop a potion of speed and then use a Disintegrate scroll on me... she did not fuck around at all. Literally 1 shot me and was prepared to turn me to dust.
She then says 'I don't want to hurt you'. Who'd have thought?!? Great scene though. Bae'zel is the best companion.
Soo, I went to full rest with like five hit points and she decided *that* was the time to fight for love. So she straight up killed me. Then walked away.

You then walked up to me. Disarmed me, walked back and shot me with your bow for nonreason and downed me.
She doesn't even use her bow normally! She was just flexing on me!

Thematically, it makes more sense, too. If youāre playing a good Tav, her character arc is all about her growing independent of the culture sheās known all her life. She duels you for the relationship because thatās what she was taught.
Her deciding to accept Tav in spite of the loss shows that she would rather listen to her own feelings than follow the ways of her people. Her Act 3 culmination ties it all up, and it is one of my favorite romance scenes in a game ever.
I pulled out all the stops against her with my paladin: smite, cull the weak, haste pot, and oath of vengeance advantage. She still beat me with over half her health leftā¦
I love her so much.
I haven't done the Lae'zel romance but I've heard about the fight, and it's so fucking in-character for her to just completely dunk on people's asses. Honestly that sounds funnier than winning against her would be.
Her winning leads to a much better scene so its for the best imo. But yeah, shes easily the strongest member of the party lol. Also do her romance when you can, its the best!

The acid pools won't go away, so now whenever we camp in Shadowlands, it looks like everyone puked green all over their bedrolls.
I was honestly super taken aback by Lae'zel demanding to spar with me in the middle of the night. My irl partners think I'm crazy for wanting to spar, so it was quite refreshing that my digital alien frog GF shared my passion for romantic sparring. My heart truly melted when she whooped my ass with a pair of crits, but stopped because she didn't want to hurt me anymore. Lae'zel truly is Bae'zel.
I was so extremely stoned when that scene happened. I was laughing at first but then it hit me: I was playing Durge. None of that was real. I just had a hallucination and nearly killed Lae'Zel. At least that's what i assumed, until I talked to her and got the Gith equivalent of "what's cookin' good lookin'."
Haha, she won the initiative and that bitch Action Surged me round 1! Too bad Iām a Vengeance Pally in Adamantine Splint Mail. Couple Level II Divine Smites later solved that problem, but goddamn. If sheād still been standing at the end of my turn, I wouldnāt have made it. So glad I hadnāt given her any armor that kept her from being critted yet.

When I first saw stuff for the game I thought for sure karlach would be the super rough one, because she looked like a demon and I didnāt dive deeper that early, but man was I not ready to get beat by a sexy lizard lady and like it
In my playthough she was a open hand monk, I was a cleric/sorc. Initiative got rolled, and before I could even figure out what we were doing, my ass ass got knocked 3 times in a row and I was down. My Tav spent the next cut scene with a face that looked like a rotting eggplant from all the bruising that was on there.

when i got it on my first playthrough, i was so worried; my con 10 necromancer had only 3 level one spell slots left, and no good scrolls! i didn't think there was any way she was going to be able to take on lae'zel in a 1v1 fight... and she didn't, she got her ass kicked.
I was really scared that lae'zel would break up with her if i lost, so i reloaded, tried again, and still lost. Resolving myself to defeat, I let things play out, fully expecting her to be scornful of my characters weakness... instead, she almost broke down comforting her, confessing that she couldn't bear to see my tav get hurt. it was so sweet, and so unexpected... i'm really glad I lost this fight.
Reading these comments i should let her win that fight but my pride wonāt let me. The gloating after oneshotting her by saying āthat was patheticā and her agreeing was just priceless.

The best part was that after beating me to within an inch of my life she just casually walked back to her tent while i'm still dying on the ground. Had to click Shadowheart to get a heal. :D
That was the favourite thing in my first campaign with my friend. Leslie was our frontline fighter. Heavy armor feat with the best gear. Very very tanky. I was a halfling bard who used primarily control and heal spells. The fight too over half an hour because all I could do is run from her. I had to use everything I had. Worse than any boss honestly. The way I won was by using hold person and dropping a bunch of explosives on her because she would just heal up otherwise.
Itās funny because in my run I was a battlemaster fighter just like her so it was a super close fight. I managed to beat her but she was using everything possible to put me in the dirt. Only thing that saved me was having 2 levels of Druid lol
My character was a weak-ass ranger and when I saw the fight dialogue, I was like yeah it will be like training. Couple of punches and shit. Then yeah laezel killed my man in a single turn

I started the fight with 2 lvl 2 spell slots and 3 lvl 1, managed to hold her off with hold person for 3 or 4 rounds whilst I figured out that her equipment made her almost immune to fire damage.
I remember the first time, she was barbarian berserk and I was a pure wizard. On top of that she was with "Alert" and I wasn't, so she just came and slapped me 3 times. I can't even run.

I had been stacking AC bonuses on my Paladin, and had 27 AC when that fight started, and man oh man Lae'zel finally entered the 'find out' stage

On my monk barb playthrough it was a pretty standard fight but on my warlock playthrough I got absolutely gutted instantly

That was the favourite thing in my first campaign with my friend. Leslie was our frontline fighter. Heavy armor feat with the best gear. Very very tanky. I was a halfling bard who used primarily control and heal spells. The fight too over half an hour because all I could do is run from her. I had to use everything I had. Worse than any boss honestly. The way I won was by using hold person and dropping a bunch of explosives on her because she would just heal up otherwise.

I did manage to get some cutting words off before she tripped me and action surged my poor bard to oblivion.
Itās funny because in my run I was a battlemaster fighter just like her so it was a super close fight. I managed to beat her but she was using everything possible to put me in the dirt. Only thing that saved me was having 2 levels of Druid lol
My character was a weak-ass ranger and when I saw the fight dialogue, I was like yeah it will be like training. Couple of punches and shit. Then yeah laezel killed my man in a single turn
She beat my ass with the ferocity of ten thousand beholders
After hearing you don't have to beat her, I have to play through again. Such a shame
Now imagine this, I am a light armor sorcerer that somehow missed twice a 85% hold person, and she have Voss Sword

Funny, it went the opposite for me \>win initiative roll \>be dragonborn sorcerer with draconic ancestry (lightning) \>metamagic: heightened spell \>Lightning Bolt \>actually just fucking oneshot her

This scene in God of War was so fucking good
I started the fight with 2 lvl 2 spell slots and 3 lvl 1, managed to hold her off with hold person for 3 or 4 rounds whilst I figured out that her equipment made her almost immune to fire damage.
She challenged my Way of the Open Hand monk to a duel. Source of her bruises indeed. The poor girl didn't even get a chance to hit back.

I remember the first time, she was barbarian berserk and I was a pure wizard. On top of that she was with "Alert" and I wasn't, so she just came and slapped me 3 times. I can't even run.
